btn.Click += new EventHandler(Tickets_click);

JQuery :: Button Event Not Firing After Button Was Revealed?

Feb 18, 2011 08:00 PM

If my ASP.NET button starts out visible to the client, it works just fine when clicked:

<asp:ImageButton ID="btn_Submit" ImageUrl="~/images/submit.png" runat="server" onclick="btn_Submit_Click" />

However, if the button was inside a hidden div to start it does not fire after being revealed:

<div style="display: none;" id="hiddenDiv">
<asp:ImageButton ID="btn_Submit" ImageUrl="~/images/submit.png" runat="server" onclick="btn_Submit_Click" />

The DIV is unhidden with jQuery ($('#hiddenDiv').show()). Why would the button work when it starts out visible, but not when it started out hidden and was made visible in jQuery?

Web Forms :: Button Click Event Firing Twice?

Nov 04, 2003 08:36 PM

In my asp.net web form, my button click event is sometimes firing twice. This only happens when I run the application from our Windows 2003 Server machine, it never happens when I run the same code from Visual Studio on my XP Pro development machine. Depending on user input, the event either executes 1 XML Bulk Load operation or several. The event only fires twice when several Bulk Load operations occur, but it doesn't always fire twice! Other info: AutoEventWireup is set to false I'm not clicking the button twice The eventHandler is added to the click event only once in the InitializeComponent method The asp:button tag does not have an onClick attribute.

C# - OnClientClick And Click Event Together For A Button Is Not Firing?

Feb 21 at 11:07

I have Onclientclick event attached to the button in serverside code like below,TopPanelButton.OnClientClick = string.Format("if(!ValidData({0},{1},{2},{3})) return false;", txtOD.ClientID, radCmbOD.ClientID, txtgetMe.ClientID, RadAjaxLoadingPanel1.ClientID);Also, the onClick event is attached for the same button in the aspx page,

<asp:Button ID="TopPanelButton" runat="server" Text="Go"
CssClass="CBtn1" Width="30px" Height="21px" OnClick="TopPanelButton_Click" />

The serverside click event should fire if the onclientclick return true. The "ValidateData()" function is called to validate the entries in the form.This code is working fine in IE. But in Firefox, both events are not firig. If I comment the "TopPanelButton.OnClientClick =..." code then onClick event is firing.

I am using an asp Button the following way:

and the code of the handler looks something like this:
protected void ButtonSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
//some other code here
//redirect to certain page here

While debugging, I put a breakpoint at Authenticate, but it seems that it doesn't enter the function, although the redirection takes place and i don't do any more redirecting in the file only this one.

Textbox OnTextChanged And Button Click Event Not Firing?

May 20 10 at 15:39

I have textboxes being generated by a repeater that use OnTextChanged with autopostback enabled so that I can know when when the values change. This all works perfect.The problem starts when I try to click on any buttons on the page. The loss of focus triggers the event for the OnTextChanged; however, the event for my buttons never get fired. I checked this in the debugger and while debugging if I put a break-point in the page_load it will call both; however, without the break-point it still only calls the OnTextChanged event.I found this post on JavaScript. If my problem is also JavaScript related, why does the clicking of the button fire in debug mode?

Button OnClick Event Not Firing With One Textbox In The Form

When there are two or more fields in the form, hitting Enter/Return works just fine.

Mark-up Button Event Not Firing In Asp (Details Inside)?

Sep 1 10 at 19:04

There is nothing fancy with the mark-up:

<hr />
Add... <asp:Button ID="buttonTextSegment" runat="server" Text="Text Segment"
onclick="buttonTextSegment_Click" />
<hr />

Or the code:

protected void buttonTextSegment_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
//never is triggered

My guess is that it is due to the hierarchy/load order:

In English: Inside the page's Load, it adds a user control. Inside of that user control, inside of Page_LoadComplete (is this the issue!?), it adds another user control, it is the inner-most user control that contains the mark-up button.

Pseudo Visually: Page -> Page_Load: Dynamically Added User Control -> Page_LoadComplete: Another Dynamically Added User Control -> User Control Mark-Up: Button with event.

Do events need to be hooked before LoadComplete? (Is there a way to make events still work even though the controls are added in LoadComplete?)

Button Event Not Firing When Wrapped In A Jquery Popup?

//a button fires this

<table cellpadding="5">
<!-- form -->
<td colspan="2"><asp:Button runat="server" ID="butMove" Text="Move Appointment" /></td>

this is using manky old asp vb .net 2.0 (arghh) so you arent seeing onclick= on the butMoveAppointment but there is this in the code behind

Protected Sub butMoveAppointment_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles butMove.Click
'do stuff
End Sub

so this div dialogs up on a button click, but when i try to submit this popped up form with the
clicking the butMove appointment just does nothing at all if i move it out of the popup it does fire is this because the popup doesnt simply show and centre the styled div? presumably i can get around this somehow?

How To Stop Web Control Event ( Button) From Firing Two Consecutive Times

void addButton_Click(object sender,

Web Forms :: Button Not Firing Event Handler Within A User Control?

Oct 19, 2009 01:46 PM

I'm having a real struggle with this. Every so often ASP.NET throws a real hard ball. I have a user control which is dynamically loaded and then added to a place holder. The user control has a button within it, and have set an event handler up. However, the event handler is never called, and the user control suddenly goes blank. The event handler is never fired either. So why would this happen? I read that it might be because the id of the control wasn't set, so I also set the ID of the control programmatically, again no luck.

I've added numerous buttons with their OnClick="" pointing to the code behind function, and also using the
handles method but no luck. The strange thing is there is no postback and the area of the user control just goes blank?

Web Forms :: Dynamically Created Button Click Event Firing?

Mar 08, 2010 03:19 PM

I am creating two buttons within the StoryGet() method, first when the page loads. When one of the buttons is pushed, lets say the left one - I want to call another method - "ButtonLeft_Click"

Ive used this same solution in other sites and it worked. With this solution, click event never fires.

If I move the StoryGet() call from Page_Load to PageInit() the button event fires, but because this event also calls StoryGet() the method runs twice, which I don't want.

I tried adding this to page_init so the original StoryGet() method only gets run the first time the page loads unless the method is called directly but then the page loads, but the button click event doesn't run again

if (!this.IsPostBack)

Web Forms :: CheckedChanged Event Not Firing On A Radio Button Within UpdatePanel?

Jun 27, 2007 12:52 PM

I am using .NET 2.0 with the latest Ajax. I have a webform in which there is a ScriptManager (empty) with an UpdatePanel. In the update panel I have 3 radio buttons, two textboxes and a dropdown.I have set the Group name for all three radiobuttons (same name), I have also enabled their AutoPostback (true) and associated all three of them with the same CheckedChanged event handler. The idea is that when the radio changes, the other controls are enabled/disabled accordingly. Button A is the default button (checked is true). When I change the RadioButton selection to either Button B or Button C the postback ocurrs and something happens on the CheckedChanged. I have two problems here:Even though buttons B and C do fire the CheckedChanged, when I click on RadioButton A (the default checked button) no postback is done! As I said, it has AutoPostback set to true just like the other two. It also has the same event handler.
