I have an sql database, with a users table that has username and a colour.
My asp master page is reading the current users username and passing it to the content fine.
What I am trying to now do is in the content page grab the colour from the sql table where the username is the current username, and assign it to a string inside the default.aspx.cs file.
i have to assign value to bit varibale.so i declared bool variable . i am assigning string value to a bool variable . so i converted to boolean & assigned.Its not converting to bool..How to assign string value to bit variable.?i am getting error.Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I am using asp.net and C#. I want to send mail to my user in HTML format, I have the content in HTML format let say like this

Now I am unable to assign this to a string variable, so that I could send it as a mail. how can I bind this whole HTML content into a varibale.
I have a cart application I am working on where I need to assign a value based on a query string. I am telling the code behind to override the price returned by a linq query with the price in the value of the price variable passed by the string. The default linq value for this item is zero, and isn't updated by my attempt to override. Here is what I am trying with no success so far. Query format sent to page is .....aspx?Price=

It returns the number of records that preceed the first one to match the string. I have tried to call this procedure from MVC and it always returns -1, so I have a fundamental problem there. I have also tried ot figure out how to just duplicate the code in MVC and I also cannot seem to get anywhere on that front.
Does anyone know a simple elegant solution to either embed this code diretly into MVC or to call my stored procedure from MVC and get the correct integer response back, instead of -1? I am engaged in relearning development after many years, so I am getting stuck on the basics.
I have a bound data field, a detailsview, one of the records I have formatted to currency in the item template. Yet when I go to delete a record, I get a error message "Input string was not in correct format". Take away the formatting and the page runs fine. I tried changing the datatype from int to money, it makes no difference.

does insert, update & delete to SQL express using the details view. But to complete my project, I need to add a button that will create an event to restore the very last record inserted in SQL and display it back into the details view for minor modification
and nserted again as the newest record with the mod. I'm doing this so user, doesn't need to re-key-in redundant information, like names, original date & time etc, and just make modification on the description of the last record.....

there is no record related to DropDownList1.SelectedValue. but as i am counting if(dt.rows.count) and i put break point on the bolded part it shows 1 record. how it can be possible?

Now i have displayed the records in the gridview..all i wanted is after i select a record in the gridview it will display the selected record in detailview from another aspx form..
i was able to create the link to another aspx form but the data that it display is the first data from the gridview not the data that i select.
i have one parent grid on which if user clicks a record ,the child details should get displayed on same page.

if user selects a record in department details grid,then employees in the selected department should get displayed in the next grid in the same page

However, the createdAlbumID always shows -1 instead of the id for the newly created album.
I'm using a details view and a sqldatasource control to populate it. Every once in a while i get an error message because more than one row is returned. How can I have the data display in a gridview instead if more than one row is returned?
