MVC :: post To An action It gets Null Values In Hosted Enviroment?
Jul 12, 2010I am having a problem where when I form post to an action it gets null values in my hosted enviroment although if I use a model to bind to it works fine. Everything posts and works correctly when I run the project.
So far I have tried to pass the form fields back as parameters on the action and get the value through the context request. Both work fine but as soon as I publish it to the hosted enviroment, it doesn't work. in the view I have:
<%=Html.TextBox("subject") %>
<%=Html.TextBox("comment") %>
for the action Method:
[HttpPost]
[Authorize]
public ActionResult Reply(int? id, string subject, string comment)
{
//Some code...
}
I have verified that it is hitting the action but the subject and comment values are null. I am guessing I am missing something simple, maybe a security setting in the config, that is causing this since I am still fairly new with MVC. I am running VS 2008 with MVC2.

Jan 18, 2011Our current application is working fine but when you try to misbehave like we found out that When login with same user in multiple tab with different organization(there is a organization dropdown in the master page which sets the cookie whenever it is changed.) in tab one it is org 1 and tab 2 it is org2 , cookie has the later org 2 in it but when we go back in tab1(which had org1) and save the record org 2 will be saved with the record So can some one share some sort of a checklist with us which address these types of problem.

Feb 18, 2011I'm currently in the process of creating a webshop. This webshop supports theming, but I also want customers to choose a lay-out. I can create multiple masterpages and create a handler to dynamically set the correct master page. But some components, like the shopping cart, are controls which have to be present in the master page and are also used in the aspx pages. The shopping cart control for instance, has an Update method which is called whenever the user adds a product to their cart. So the question is: can I somehow create a default masterpage which has all the components on it, but still be able to create multiple lay-outs. And how should I reference that master page from the aspx pages? I also thought of creating an Interface class which defines the masterpage and it's public components, but I don't know if I can reference an interface from aspx pages.

I have a CUW with additional fields (the data of which is stored in an additional table that I have added to the ordinaty SQL membership database) and I want the user to check the Terms and Conditions checkbox before the user is created.
By any chance, do you also know how to prevent the creation of the user if the additional fields have not been filled?
I triend with Java, code behind and many method but it still dont work: the user is created even if the Terms and Conditions are not checked.

Sep 8, 2010I am using a create User Wizard for registering a user and have converted it to a a template to capture additional information. In the CreatedUserEvent handler in Code Behind I am getting the UserName of the new user and their unique GUID key. This is then added to a seperate data table with addditional info captured from the user. The textboxes within the create user Wizard have validation controls. If the user has missed an entry these fire and it shops the process of creating the user.
BUT If I then complete the textboxes and then click submit it says the USER NAME already Exists! This is not what I want as the User just needs to correct the errors in the form and they should be able to keep their iniital User Name choice. Do I need to change the Event handler and if so am I still able to capture the USerName and Key so that I can add the data to the other non membership table.
