I want to enclose listbox inside a DIV tag in the code behind file using C#.I am adding all the required attributes and adding the list box as below:

I want the generated listbox to be enclosed with in a div.
I am getting error because of this line in stored procedure.How to enclose string value.

I have a "UserDetail" table in my "JobPost.mdf". I have a "Gridview1" showing the column from "UserDetail" table,which has a primary key "UserName". This "UserName" is originally saved using Membership class function. Now I add a "Delete" linkbutton to the GridView1. This "Delete" is not autogenerate button,I dragged inside the column itemtemplate from ToolBox. The GridView1's columns now become "Delete_LinkButton"+"UserName"(within the UserDetail table)+"City"(within the UserDetail table)+"IsAdmin"(within the UserDetail table) What I need is that by clicking this "delete_linkButton",it will ONLY delete the entire User Entity on the same row (link by the corresponding "UserName") from the "UserDetail" table,as well as delete all information from the AspNetDB.mdf (User,Membership,UserInRole,etc). I would like to fireup a user confirm,but not mandatory. At least I am trying to make it functional in the correct way. for example:

When I click "delete" on the first row, I need all the record about "ken" inside the "UserDetail" table to be removed. Meanwhile, all the record about "ken" in the AspNetDB.mdf will be gone, including UserinRole table.....

View 2 RepliesI have a simple custom control that boils down to a label and a listbox. Selections in the listbox are reflected in the label as comma separated values. My question is what is the best and simplest way to make the page developers experience of working with the custom control exactly mimic the experience of working with just the listbox - when it comes to working with data. For some reason it feels wrong to simply create mirrored properties in the custom control and forward their values to the internal listbox. A small, perhaps unrelated complication is that the final product has to play nice with the forms collection due to the nature of the host application.
View 1 RepliesI have a checkbox together with a listbox displaying all countries inside edititemtemplate of detailsview. What I tried to achieve is that if the user checks checkbox then listbox will be disabled and vice versa.

When I run the page, the listbox was truely enabled when I unchecked the checkbox. But when I tried to update on the server side the listbox is still disabled and couldn't find the selected items.

've created 2 asp:listbox... asp:ListboxFrom and asp:ListboxTo. When I double click on the item on ListboxFrom it moves (appends) the item to ListboxTo... So everything works fine till here. But when I click on the submit button to process everything I don't get the selected items in my code-behind for the listboxes. I debugged on Page_Init and Page_load but it restores the default controlstate values..
1) How can I get the values in code-behind ? so the state of asp:listbox as it is added client-side code.
2) another question: when it appends to the ListboxTo the items are selected per default (they are blue). How can I avoid this?

I have a listbox inside a formview in a details page(master/details). The values for the listbox will come from a lookup table and when the user select one or more values it should be inserted in a table. The process sould be like the following:
The user will select one or multiple values and click on a Select button. Then a label should show the selected values. Then the user will click on the Insert button in the formview to insert it in the database.

If i've the button outside an update panel (basically i'm using RadAjaxPanel by Telerik) it is working fine. But when the button is inside an ajax panel, even if i click OK for deleting the records the server side code is not called.
I need to display the contents of a file selected from a ListBox into a text box. When I populate the ListBoxItems, I set the Text property to the name of the file and its full path to the Value property.
When I click the item, the page refreshes because AutoPostBack is on, but nothing happens. I then tried this:

I am designing a program that will let me enter the name of an item to swap and adds the swap to an array list when a button Add is pressed. Once the item is added to the array list a Sub Procedure should be called which displays the contents of the array list in a list box.
The system will also allow me to remove items from the array list using a Remove button
followed by updating array list.
I have done some part which puts item into the listbox1 which i named lstSwapList.I would need some assistance on the Sub Procedure to display the Value or Description on the other listbox2 which i have also named lstContent,if a value is selected from the listbox1.
I would also want to know how to update the Listbox content,However i hv added a sample of the way i guess it may be.
Any complete solution from anybody on the Sub Procedure and the Update Swap procedure will be greately appreciated.

I have two list boxes, one has a list of available users (about 1500 items) and the other is blank. There is a button to add the seleted items from the first list box to the second one. Both of these listboxes are within an update panel and for some reason it takes over 20 seconds for the items to show up in the second listbox.
Is this normal? Is there an alternate, faster way of doing this?

View 2 RepliesI'm missing a the code browser when I create pages that have the code not placed in a seperate file. For pages with .asp.vb files I get the browser correctly.
I think it's called a code browser but just in case it's not I mean the dropdown that shows Page Events, Buttons and other controls that can be selected along with their events.
How do I turn on those dropdowns for pages with code behind that uses <script> tags in the actual .aspx page?

I have an ASMX Web Service that has its code entirely in a code-behind file, so that the entire contents of the .asmx file is:

On my test machine (Windows XP with IIS 5), I set up a virtual directory just for this ASP.NET 2.0 solution and everything works great. All my code is separated nicely and it just works.However, when we deployed this solution to our Windows Server 2003 development environment, we noticed that the code only compiled when all of the code was dropped directly into the .asmx file, meaning that the solution didn't work with code-behind. We can't figure out why this is happening.
One thing that's different about our setup in our development environment is that instead of creating a separate virual directory just for this solution, we dropped it into an existing directory that runs a classic ASP application. So here we have a folder with an ASP.NET 2.0 application within a directory that contains a classic ASP application. Granted, everything in the ASP.NET 2.0 application works if all of the code is within the .asmx file and not in code-behind, but we'd really like to know why it's not recognizing the code-behind files and compiling it correctly.
