I'm using Jquery dialogs in my Asp.net web application for all my messages.Now I've tried to fill a listview with customers inside a dialog and its working, but I want to allow the user to use paging in the listview for choosing his customer out of the list.When I press the button to move up 1 page, it ain't working...Maybe it's just not possible? Or does someone have an example of paging a datacontrol in a Jquery dialog?

I have two table Order and Order Detail.
What i need is i need to bind last 10 Order in Gridview/details view with paging, and the same order detail also fetch from database and shown in another gridview.. if user click any oderNo in first Gridview/DetailView then i need to show Respective order detail in anther gridview..
without postback coz we already fetch 10 order with orderdetails from the database..and if user click next 10 orderNo using paging then again we need to load 10 orderNo with respective orderdeatils from database like this going on....as well as let me know how to take print of particular oder and order detail....?

View 5 RepliesI would like to have a contact form which contains a reCaptcha, and have that form inside a jquery ui modal dialog.
All works well, except that I have a submit button for the form - which closes the modal dialog wether the recaptcha is valid or invalid.
I tried adding onClientClick="return false;" to the submit button, but it still posts back, and closes the dialog.
how do I remain inside the dialog ?
I'm assigning a div containing an ordinary grid view to the content of a jquery dialog, but the gridview is omitted from the dialog. I've tried even building the dialog fresh on a button click in case it's having a hard time binding to the data-refreshedgrid. No Joy.

I've read this great article showing how to apply paging in ASP.NET via jQuery/Ajax [URL]. But it use JTemplate. My questions are:
1. Should I use asp:listview control instead of Jtemplate. Because JTemplate is not familiar to me.
2. If I can use asp:listview control, show me how to replace Jtemplate.
3. If not. May you show me how to apply paging in listview ASP.NET via JQuery/Ajax ?

Perhaps someone out there can help me understand what's going on. I'm using jQuery UI dialog() to display html partials in my project. When a user clicks Add New it displays the add client form. However, when the user clicks on the Add or Cancel buttons in the dialog I get an error, "$(this).dialog is not a function". If I remove the open event and display a static form in the dialog the buttons the work fine.

What's a good way to show an jquery ui dialog on postback ?
1. Create the whole div in on the server and populate an asp literal control and fire the required javascript (but when).
2. Use hidden fields for your values inside the div, fire the required javascript (but when).
3. Someone has another viable solution for me ?

The first time around, it should do a postback, but when the dialog closes and I click the refresh button of the broswer, it sends the data again and duplicates the data I just entered. Should I add a return false somewhere so it doesn't postback when the dialog is closed. Here is the script:

Currently I have a project where I have a form in ASP.NET that needs a look up service. For example the input below wants a Customer ID, but maybe the user only knows the customers by name.

I'd like to be able to re-use the same code for multiple elements on the same form that require the customer ID look up. I also don't know how to create this kind of functionality inside the ASP.NET environment because it doesn't fundamentally allow more than one form inside one .aspx page.

View 1 RepliesI have a application that contains a gridview. When a user selects one of the items from the gridview, I want to be able to show a jQuery dialog box that contains a form with some pre-filled information from the selected item from the gridview. Right now I have a div with some html text boxes that is set to be a modal dialog box. The user clicks on it, and the selected item's ID is easily to retrieve. The problem comes when I want to go out to the database, get some of the details, then pre-fill in some of the textboxes and other elements before displaying the dialog box to the user.
An easy comparison is having a user click on an item so that they can submit a form to be processed with some of the items from the selection already filled in. I was wondering what the easiest way to go about this is. Right now I have it so that selecting an item from the gridview uses jQuery to do a Ajax post with the ID to a [WebMethod] in the code behind where it can then go off the database and get all the details of the record. The problem is that for obvious reasons the WebMethod can't magically fill in the fields of the form. I could send back all of the information to the ajax query to fill in, but that also feels pretty messy because there is no real strong connection from the random data I send back and which field they belong to.
A lot of this is pondering out loud, but I am really interested in better understanding how to use jQuery and Ajax within ASP.NET.

I'm developing an app with asp.net and jQuery and I have a strange problem, I have the div(used as dialog) and a button to show the dialog, the first time I call the dialog, it shows correctly, I close it but when I try to show for the second time the background grays but the dialog doesn't show (only in IE in firefox it works fine). Is there a way to fix this? Or maybe I'm doing somethign wrong.
