Can Populate Textbox Based Off Bound Column In DetailsView

I'm trying to populate a date from a bound text field in a DetailsView. I keep getting a error when a DBNull is in the column. How do I avoid the DBNull when populating the text field.My code is as follows:
I have a TextBox bound to a decimal column and want to drop any zeros to right of decimal point. So 8.0000 shows as 8 and 7.6000 shows as 7.6.Currently the Text property is #Bind("Units", "{0:n2}")
there is a radio button, a dropdownlist. radiobuttons are OY, OTY,VDA ( in my database there are fields named OY.OTY,VDA) if i select OY in my radio button the data should be displayed from field OY in dropdownlist and if i select OTY in my radio button the data should be displayed from OTY field in dropdownlist is it possible. there is a sqldatasource for dropdownlist .

I'm hacking my way through ASP.Net WebForms, coming from VB.Net WinForms. I was hoping the transition would've been more seamless... it is not.
I have a GridView (Paging enabled) bound to a DataTable, filled with Joined tables from an Access 2000 DataBase.
The GridView and DetailsView are bound to the same DataTable.
In the GridView's SelectedIndexChanged Event I have the following:

When the page loads the first item in the GridView is also displayed in the DetailsView.
I've added a "Select" button in the GridView and when it is clicked the Data in the DetailsView remains the same regardless of the selected GridView row.
I just can't figure out how to approach this, but this is what I want, would be I have a database-table containing an XML-field. Using LinqToSql I succesfully bound this table to a GridView and a DetailsView control.ow I wrote a WebUserControl that renders a bunch of textboxes, and has a method 'Serialize' that returns the XElement-object that I can use in my codebehind to assign it to the LinqToSql-property to save it to database. It also has a public property 'Xml' (type string) that I can use to Bind() the xml-string from the database to it, so the WebUserControl can prefill it's textboxes.
I have a dropdownlist in the edititemtemplate of a detailsview. The dropdownlist is bound with an objectdatasource. The detailsview is bound to a seperate objectdatasource which connects it to the insert method. When the page loads the dropdownlist is bound properly. However, when I make a selection and select insert I get the following error: Could not find a property named 'DeptID' on the type specified by the DataObjectTypeName property in ObjectDataSource 'objCurrentProduct'. I've tried to remove the SelectedValue='<%# Bind("DeptID") %> attribute. I can then insert without an exception being thrown but the selected value of the dropdown is not recognized. Here is the code:
I am using a DetailsView component (dvExpertsData) bound to a SqlDataSource (sqldsExpert) with a field that has a ItemTemplate (Field[9]) with a checkbox component (chkbxAvailable) assigned to it. The idea is to have only this item updated out of all the data presented, so I do not have a requirement for editing an other data. sqldsExpert's SELECT query is a call to a stored procedure as is the UPDATE query.
I want to add boundfield to the Detailsview control at the run time. The data is coming from the dataset, which is fetching data from SqlDataAdapter. I tried using the following code

I am using the DetailsView Control to read a LastUpdatedDate field (which can be null until an update is performed) from the database. The LastUpdatedDate is of type DateTime saved in UTC. With the DetailsView control, I can use the NullDisplayText property of the boundfield to safely display an custom message. However, once converted to a template field, that property is lost. Now, how would I display that message if the field is null as I am also formatting the date for display to show in local time.
I have a ListView (in an update panel) bound to an ObjectDataSource (connected to an NHibernate object) and in the EditItemTemplate I use Text='<%# Bind("HideLocation")%>' to bind to a string property of the object.
When I click edit (twice, another issue I'm having) and view the code in Chrome, the output looks like this:

why the value of the bound data (in this case: In locker 2317) is showing up outside of the text box instead of as the contents of the data?
I have an ASP.NET GridView control in a Web Form. For the sake of simplicity, I will say that this GridView is defined as follows:

When each of these rows is bound (a.k.a. during the "myGridView_RowBound" event), I want to get the ID, Name, and Age values. My problem is, I cannot figure out how to get the "ID" value. The reason why is because it is in an invisible field.
I have a DataGrid with a TemplateColumn containing an asp:DropDownList and a BoundColumn. I'd like to have a VB.NET handler for when the selected item in the DropDownList changes. I'd like this handler to also update the value in the BoundColumn with the value of the newly selected item in the DropDownList.
Can someone point me to some resources I can examine to learn how to do this?
If the handler for the selection changing can give me the value of the NEWLY selected item, it should just be a matter of accessing the cell for my BoundColumn in the same row and writing to it. I do not know the syntax to achieve this.
I have a dgv with a column type = DataGridViewAutoFilterCheckBoxColumn. I want to know if there's a way to I can get that entire column to become disabled (or Enabled = False) so it won't let the user click on the checkboxes.
I tried looking in the "Bound Column Properties" but there isn't an option to disable the entire column.
Now what I want to achieve is, when user clicks IsComplete checkbox, she must enter the date of completion. So, I want a validation (client side) on DateOfCompletion if the checkbox is selected (checked). And, I also want to use Validator Callout Extender if possible.
I have three cascading drop down boxes populated by way of a web service. I would like the selection of the third box to then populate the details View based solely on that selection. When I run the page, the DetailsView is populated with every item from the table (using paging) instead of only showing the details of the item selected in drop down. In the database the a field named ItemId is the identity for the table. Am I simply not passing this correctly to the detailsView from the ddl?
As a workaround for the fact that asp:Checkboxes don't have values, I am attempting to dynamically create the ID's of checkboxes in a DataList so that it inserts the primary keys into the control ID. This is surprisingly difficult.
I have placed a PlaceHolder in my DataList ItemTemplate, then in the ItemCreated I create the checkboxes using string.Format("Checkbox{0}", DataBinder(e.Item.DataItem, "ID")). The problem is that this only works in a non-postback condition, as on postback the DataItem is null. And of course ItemDataBound isn't called on PostBack so that won't work either.
I can't seem to find a good way to handle this short of if (IsPostback) dataList.Bind(), which i don't think is a good way to do it.
This was a pretty disappointing moment - when databinding, using Eval("Contact.LastName") would work. It nicely evaluates the related Linq object's member LastName. If the "Contact" object is null, no error is thrown... instead the field is simply null.
However, the same does not hold for sorting - if there exists a null entry (this object does not have a Contact) then the LinqDataSource throws a NullReferenceException. This means that, if you ever have nulls on your foreign-key objects, you can't use sorting headers in the ListView.
This makes the feature moderately useless - I have to roll my own properties for every single field I'd ever want to sort on. That's insane.
