Mar 29, 2011I'm trying to add Embeded flash in aspx page running on iis 7.5 windows server 2008. When i'm adding the Embeded code src=/mylocation/test.swf it works fine. But when I'm adding fileserver location src="file:\c: est.swf the page doesn't load.
The code works fine in normal html file on my desktop.

Sep 22, 2010I'm generating a PowerPoint file using this as reference. A user can search other users based on many criterias. Information based on the user is saved in the PowerPoint file. But I can't save all PowerPoint files on the server.So, the user needs to right click a link, choose "Save As...", and save the file locally.
Nothing should be saved on the server. I have been Googling, but I'm not sure what to look for.I seems I am a bad googler. I removed "powerpoint" from my search string, and there are a lot of hits.

I have modified the GenerateSlidesFromDB() method:

As you can see I overwrite the placeholder with "Test User", and it works like a charm.I need to add an image (as a placeholder) to this pptx-file. When I do that (and run the code again) I get a corrupted pptx-file?
Error message: PowerPoint removed unreadable content in output.pptx. You should review this presentation to determine whether any content was unexpectedly changed or removed.
Edit: If I try the original code (which is slightly modified since I dont have Adventureworks), I get some other kind of error message:
This file may have become corrupt or damaged for the following reasons: Third-party XML editors sometimes create files that are not compatible with Microsoft Office XML specifications.
The file has been purposely corrupted with the intent to harm your computer or your data. Be cautious when opening a file from an unknown source.
PowerPoint can attempt to recover data from the file, but some presentation data, such as shapes, text,and formatting, may be lost.

I want to get those files in binary format(i.e byte[]) so that I can able to see that file to the user using a radbinary image control.I am able to get .jpeg and .jpg files and I can show those to users.But while I am trying to show .doc,.docx,.pdf files I am getting "Not valid parameter" exception.How can I solve this problem? My doubt is that pdf,doc,docx files are having no of pages. So while converting this total pages in to binary data I am getting error. Flash How To Open .swf File?
Feb 18, 2010I need to open a file which is called FileUpload.swf, apparently it's a Shockwave Flash object. I have this object in my Visual Studio now but I can't see the code, because I guess I need to download something to be able to see it. I am confused about what to download and where to download it to on my PC? I don't have any experience with Flash. Also it would be nice if the download is not to heavy, as I am running out of space on my C drive on my PC. So could you tell me what to download? Where to download it from? And where to download it to on my PC? The FileUpload.swf file is just simple Flash UI which allows us to upload multiple files in ASP.NET, I encountered it on page 302 in Andrew Siemers book "ASP.NET Social Networking".

I embedded the file in an aspx page and that works fine, since ASP.NET handles the aspx page, I can use ASP.NET authorization features and in the web.config restrict the access to roles="AllowedUsers" for example.
However smart users could still get to the file by accessing directly for example www.mysite/flash.swf. We want to make that kind of access secure.

The swf file is depend on other files such as skin file, image, video each... these file are on same folder where is my swf file located and they are all under one folder my my VS2010 project. When I run the swf file from the folder in the VS2010 project is working OK but when I embed it to aspx page I will miss some controls in the flash. I tried another swf file that depend on external resource to run such as xml file, and images, jscript fie and the swf file will lunch but will not work and there is no images would appear but still when I run the swf file from the VS2010 project will run OK.

Dec 7, 2010When a user visits our site they see a coverflow. They are not logged in so they cant see any images. Once they log in they should be able to see images in the coverflow but they cant because the flash object is being cached.
A user can get around this problem by setting the IE settings to (check for newer versions of stored pages every time they visit a site) however we need a way to force the browser to refresh the flash object once they are logged in, without telling all of our users to change the settings in their browser.
Is this possible?
