Dynamic Data Website Using Ado.net Entity Framework And Mysql Giving An Error Just On The Server?
Oct 3, 2010
I have an asp.net dynamic data website .net 3.5 built on ado.net entity framework with mysql database.Currently I have just one table in my entity model.
Everything is working fine on my local machine but when i uploaded on my server i got this error message:
"More than one item in the metadata collection match the identity 'mtDBModelStoreContainer'"
Note that this error happen when i open the table "WebsiteAdmin/users/List.aspx"
I have just added the Dynamic Data Filtering library to an Entity Framework based Dynamic Data web application, but on trying to access List.aspx, I get the following error. Is there anything I can do about this on .NET 4?The method 'Skip' is only supported for sorted input in LINQ to Entities. The method 'OrderBy' must be called before the method 'Skip'.
I am looking for a solid tutorial on using the Entity Framework with POCO (ie. not using the designer) using MySQL as the back-end. I am looking for something that is semi-in-depth covering stuff like attributes (like how to map a database table/field name to a class/field name that is different). Also I am looking for C#, not VB. Does anyone know of any such tutorials?
the problem is that it will insert a new record in a mysql table, I have already done the mapping of the mysql db and I have already done tests returning data and everything works. Now I read from a file, where there are queries written, I have them run me back and the result of true or false based on the final outcome of single query written to the file. Txt; I did this:
using (var w = new demotestEntities ()) ( foreach (var l listaqueri) ( var p = we.CreateQuery <category> (l); we.SaveChanges (); result = true; ) )
but it does not work, I sense that it returns no errors, but neither the result given written in the query. txt file is as follows: INSERT INTO category (id, name) VALUES (null, 'test2')
We have a set of tables and views that merely store some config data for embedded devices. this schema is change-prone and do not really required lots of logic, beyond some validation rules. so we considered using a RAD tool for maintaining these CRUDS. In first stage: Dynamic Data But the community size, books absence and the last modification dates of the MSDN articles (~July 2008) makes me want to hear your experiences. (actually DynamicData comes as a part of the ASP.Net MVC2 project) What has been your experience with Dynamic Data? What is your favorite ASP.Net RAD alternative? Why?
Using a very run-of-the-mill database, with identity int for primary keys, a Dynamic Data Entities Project (EntityFramework) displays the primary key for view and edit. When using Linq to Sql, the primary key fields are not displayed.
I would like to hide the primary keys and use Entity Framework (VS 2008, .Net 3.5 sp1).
Is there a way to export a EF 4.0 Data Model to EF 3.5?
I looked around and found that we are not able to access EF 4.0 from a ASP.Net 3.5 project here: [URL]
Our project is the 1st to go to .Net 4.0 using Entity Framework and we (the team) were wondering if there was a way for the other projects that "might" need to access our data that are still using the .Net 3.5 framework.
I have a "simple" method that takes a Linq entity containing the information I want to update. The method then creates a list of counties the information is to be updated for, and tries to update the information for each county.
So user goes in fills form out selects update All counties, and the information in the form should be updated for all the counties for the member. Here is the code.
[Code]....
The first pass through the foreach runs perfectly, the second time through I get an error: Cannot attach an entity that already exists.
What is best way to work around this?
I have though about putting the foreach loop in my business_logic layer, and have it pass both the newRecord and OldRecord, but figured I would ask, before making the code change.
I am using .net framework 3.5 framework & for database operations entity framework. So, to fetch the data i am using LINQ queries & returns a resultset in a list.e.g
I get this error when I try to publish a asp.net 4.0 application on my server. I am using entity framework and mysql as the database. Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed.

I am making a web project now. And i meet some problems working with Entity Framework. My program needs to have dynamic model. I try to explain. So i have classes and database is created from them. At the beginning of work program checks in folder Modules for assemblies and looks for classses that needs to be created as tables in database(this classes have to become a part of ef model). And i need at runtime create database.If some new classes was added so add this tables to database, but not recreate it(as it is made by default). If i delete classes the tables are not deleted.
Is it possible to choose a specific database that will be used with the entity framework? At this time, I use the connection string in the Web.Config as database authentication.
I have twelve databases, each of them has the same structure and the same stored procedure.
There is one database for each client. When a client wants to login into the system, he needs to choose his database name from a listbox.
I would like to create a dynamic connection string which will include the database name chosen by the client.
I'm having some problems with the interface I've created. I am getting value and ids in a string using for loop on the controls(objects). After some searching, I've discovered that it isinserting an empty string into my database fields as opposed to an null value. I need my application to insert NULL values, not emptry strings. Can any one suggest me on this and also how can i prevent sql injection on the above code. because i am passing like following :
@variable1='Name,Address,Remarks' //(as a Column name) @variable2='Pritesh,Mumbai,any remark' //(as a column value for above.) exec myprocedure 'tablename','@variable1','@variable2'.
if any one pass single inverted comma in the above column value in @variable2. my code give me error. how can i prevent this sql injections..
I am trying to add a new entity and have to refernce associated data to add it. I cannot load the Referencetables. Giving "The EntityReference could not be loaded because it is not attached to an ObjectContext." How do i complete this task in Entity Framework 3.5
I've just created a new MVC 2 application that references both an entity model library and a services library, and all compiles fine without running the app, but when I try running it, I get the following runtime error"
Compiler Error Message: CS0012: The type 'System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.EntityObject' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Entity, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.
I have double checked umteen times (e.g. Umpteen*n) and the cited assembly is refenced in all three projects. If it wasn't, WTF would I not get a build error?
public class Category { public int CategoryId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } public partial class CategoryMap : EntityTypeConfiguration<Category> { public CategoryMap() { this.HasKey(c => c.CategoryId); this.Property(c => c.Name).IsRequired().HasMaxLength(400); } } public class MyObjectContext : DbContext { public MyObjectContext(string connectionStringName) : base(connectionStringName) { } public DbSet<Category> Categories { get; set; } protected override void OnModelCreating(ModelBuilder modelBuilder) { modelBuilder.Configurations.Add(new CategoryMap()); base.OnModelCreating(modelBuilder); } }
Now when I run the following code I get an exception (GenericArguments[0], 'System.Int32', on 'System.Data.Entity.Internal.Linq.ReplacementDbQueryWrapper`1[TEntity]' violates the constraint of type 'TEntity')
DbDatabase.SetInitializer<MyObjectContext>(new DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges<MyObjectContext>()); using (var context = new MyObjectContext("NopSqlConnection")) { var query1 = from c in context.Categories select c.CategoryId; var test1 = query1.ToList(); //works fine var query2 = from c in context.Categories where query1.Contains(c.CategoryId) orderby c.Name descending select c; var test2 = query2.ToList(); //throws the exception }
I am trying to insert html pages to MySQL with my Asp.NET project but i am getting error; You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'de Osman patlaması', '', '<div style="text-align: center"> <img src="/i' at line 1
How can i fix that problem my server side code is;
whenever i needed to test my web site, i used to press ctrl and f5. i recently installed installed iis service. kept an html page accessed it from host kept an fully developed default.aspx page in the www directory tried to access gave error of XML something....that means i can only use HTML pages, ? so what to do if i am using c# asp.net? current i do not have the computer with iis installed so i cannot post the exact error message it was something like can not render XML (then it said something like unknown line)
I am new to entity framework , it is really very good , but I want to know what is the difference between using entity framework with stored procedure or without stored procedure , which one the faster and what is the benefits for using stored procedures with entity framework.
I was wondering what your thoughts were in regards to utilizing SQL Server Views as objects in the entity framework? It would only be used for reading data versus modifiying it.
