I'm having issues when trying to run my web app. I'm getting an expression expected error at runtime on the portion of my code that is designed to retain the screen position of multiple drag panels.
Code:
var target = $this).attr("id");
should return the id of the uniquely named panel so it can be used later in code to identify the _DragPanelExtender.BehaviorID
Code:
$find('<%=' + target + '_DragPanelExtender.BehaviorID%>').set_location(new Sys.UI.Point(parseInt(temp[0]), parseInt(temp[1])));
I haven't been able to verify if the dragPanel's id name is being used, it just errors out here. In the following code, I am attempting to preserve the position of multiple dragPanel's after postback?
Code:
function pageLoad() {
//get element id name of button clicked
var target = $(this).attr("id");
// call the savePanelPosition when the panel is moved
$find(target).add_move(savePanelPosition);
var elem = $get("<%=HiddenField1.ClientID%>");

I'm using linq to sql,everything seems to be working fine except one thing,I'm showing any mapped float fields from my db tables as "Double?" instead of "Double", and when binding to a datagrid, any of those "Double?"fields don't show.If I iterate through the items and spit out the property,the float value is indeed there and properly returned.

I write inline expression and binding expression in the server head section:
[Code]....
[Code]....
But both kinds of expression aren't parsed or executed except the ResovleUrl menthod. The html renders like this:
<head><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<%= Request.ApplicationPath %>themes/style1.css" /><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<%# Request.ApplicationPath %>themes/style2.css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/themes/style3.css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/jwork.js"></script>
</head>
As I know, the inline expression in the attributes of server control can't be parsed but the binding expression should if we invoke the DataBind method. But the above case breaks the rule.

I'm trying to use the validator to work on a email form to ensure that they enter a valid from email address. That part works. I also want to add to the expression the text that I pre-populate in the txtbox ("Enter your email address") so on postback, after sending the message, I can clear the fields and repopulate that box.
How do I add that wording to the current expression: w+([-+.']w+)*@w+([-.]w+)*.w+([-.]w+)*

i have to check if an input string is valid based on the given regular expression.. this is the regular expression.
(a(bb+aaa+((ab)*bb+(aba)*aa)(a+b)*) + (b(aa+bbb+((ba)*aa+(bab)*bb)(a+b)*)
+ is an OR
* is a LOOP, it is optional, it may be done as many as a user wants.
i've tried many ways to solve the problem that my professor gave me but my knowledge isn't that enough to solve this problem..

I have problem in rounding the double value from 1.5 to 1.50. However I have tried different ways converting to decimal, Integer and also string.Format, still I gettting 1.5 instead of 1.50.
Variable will have value as 1.5 and expected output will expect 1.50 not 1.5. I am not able to get 1.50 as value.

Since both are acceptable by HTML as well as languages like ASP.NET and PHP when using attributes or strings, why is it that some people use single quotes and double quotes interchangeably? It is my understanding that it is syntactically correct to use double quotes where possible, single when you need to embed a double quote for inline logic. Is there something I am missing? For examples: HTML
<a href='[URL]
PHP
<? echo 'Hello World!'; ?>
ASP.NET
<form id='myForm' runat='server'></form>

I need to send 4 double values to a webservice. Which is the best way to send. Array or Arraylist. I read some where that Arraylist has issues to serialize.I am using the following code on the client .aspx page to construct the arraylist.
Code:
ArrayList CapPlan = new ArrayList();
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox1.Text));
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox2.Text));
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox3.Text));
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox4.Text));
After this arraylist CapPlan is constructed, what would be the syntax to send this arraylist to a webmethod?
DataSet dataSetCapitalPlan = clientProxyobject.CapStock(CapPlan.ToArray(double));
And on the webservice side how can I receive this arraylist that was sent?
[WebMethod]
public DataSet CapStock(string As_of_Date, Array CapPlan)
{
}

I am using SQL Server 2008 Web Edition and it seems my SQL queries are automagically having the double quotes replaced with ' + CHAR(34) + '. I am trying to pin down why this is happening, I am using Delphi with ASP.NET and using the ADO.NET object for the SQL.
Has anyone come across this before?
