Using asp.net in visual studios and IIS7 when i get a host.
I have a folder full of icons that will rarely change and is used on every page. Is there a way i can set a certain directory to expire something like once every 2 or so hours so i can decrease the amount of incoming request to the server?
Using this code i want to show an modal pop up to the user that "your session will be expired within 5 minutes , Click here [BUTTON] to reset your session" , here's my code :

I have load balanced web servers My application has a function that allows the user to upload their company logo to display in the application header obviously, when they upload the logo image file, it needs to be in a central location or otherwise, the file will not be accessible to the other server on the load balancer. in order to be able to upload the image through the application other one of either servers and then display it on both servers I need a virtual directory on both servers that point to a third "file server" (this is the "AcctData" directory shown below with a sub folder "images")
If I use pass-through authentication I get a 401 error. If I use a specific user that's set up on both boxes, I get a 500 error. I've also tried sticking a Web.config file in the "AcctData" directory allowing anonymous access.
i am working on asp application. i have a user register page and there is a image upload option , if any user upload there image that image "filename + current date" both are save in database. For example i have a table Users and there is a field called UserImage i want to save both "Filename + current date" in that field. What is procedure to save both "Filename + current date" in the database .
View 4 RepliesActually I have Multiple update panels on page, which update different values on server but the problem is that I have textbox to which I attach javascript class for datepicker on Load event.
But There are other updatepanels before that date TextBox, when I update them first calender image with date control which is in updatepanel disappears. or it remove the calender which is next to the textbox.

After we upfdate any updatepanel control its like this.
But the Date controls which are not in any updatepanel are ok and working.
And in these updatepanels I actually saving values in DataTables and save these DataTables in viewState .... no change in HTML.
I'm surprised i couldnt find any answers.
How do i set my sessionid in my cookie to expire at the end of session? (when the browser closes or the user has been inactive for a period of tie).
The two solutions i found were
(httpcookie).Expires = HttpContext.Current.Session.Timeout
Which gave me a compile error so i dont know if the user checked his code before posting. And the other was to set the expire date to 1 day ago which my gut says is wrong. How do i do this?

There is a timeout for Session object of HttpSessionState that can be set. I want to see if we can make HttpApplicationState timeout too?

I have ensured that they cannot login through the login page.
However because the authentication cookie is persistent and is set to expire after a few months if they return to the site they will still be logged in.
A simple solution is just to expire all authentication tickets/cookies.

I am using session variables for login and logout user . When user Signed In then i am create a seesion ["Log"] = 1 . And when user click on logout button i am use the session.RemoveAll() method .
But it does not working properly .After logout button when i click on the back button on browser then user automatically logged in and redirect to previous page .

I have Form which is inserting data into database. After inserting always i am redirecting to the another page. But some time user hit back button and go to the same page which will ask for RETRY. If he/she press the RETRY button duplicate data will be inserted.
How i can complately expire the all form data so even if he hit back button the page will load complately fresh.
I set session timeout="200" but session expire within 5-6 minute .

I need to redirect my application when there is no action for three minutes. I used session timed out period in the web config file. But When I am working with my content page its not working, because my content page is inside a update panel which is in the master page, so the content page not getting refresh at all, so the session expires.

The problem is that ´when my session espire, the Form cooki is not expired.
I want form cooki to expire, when session expires....how?
