I was wondering if anything special is required to add a .NET web services to the "Services" tab in NetBeans to allow my java app to consume a .NET web service. I go and add my WSDL (simple method, 1 operation, takes a string), and I continuously get a NullReferenceError as below:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.netbeans.modules.websvc.saas.model.wsdl.impl.WsdlModel.getServices(WsdlModel.java:65)
at org.netbeans.modules.websvc.saas.wsdl.websvcmgr.WebServiceManager.addWebService(WebServiceManager.java:142)
at org.netbeans.modules.websvc.saas.wsdl.websvcmgr.WsdlDataManagerImpl$1.run(WsdlDataManagerImpl.java:79)
at org.openide.util.RequestProcessor$Task.run(RequestProcessor.java:1418)
[catch] at org.openide.util.RequestProcessor$Processor.run(RequestProcessor.java:1957)
Is this something common? I'm using Netbeans 6.9.1 and yes, the webservice is a stub that takes a string and displays a static message right now.

Here's my problem: I have an asp.net app that invokes a java/axis based webservice through a wsdl file provided by my customer. But, as i had no access to this webservice at the dev time, i've created a fake .net based webservice, with the same methods, returning some valid data, so i'd be able to test the integration interface. The problem is, when i add the service reference on my app, pointing to my fake webservice (.net), it's class has a certain name, and when i point it to my customer's wsdl file, it's class has a different name. Generated class name when i add the service reference by:
- .NET fake webservice = "TransferenciaEndpointSoapClient"
- wsdl file of the java/axis webservice = "TransferenciaEndpointClient"
I want the class i've created in my fake webservice to keep the same name of the wsdl, when i add the service reference on my app. I tried to add a "web reference" instead of a "service reference", but it did not work. I also tried to change the name of the class on the "Reference.cs" file, it works on my environment, but it doesn't when i put the generated bin on my customer's environment. I'd like to solve this without having to create a java/axis based fake webservice.

I'd like to invoke a button click event on an ASP.net page programmatically, using c#. I don't have access to the server-side of the page, so i can't invoke the function directly.

I was wondering if it is possible to call a webservice or send a SOAP request using a provided certificate to encrypt my password (my identity) and use another to encrypt/sign a timestamp, service header, & soap body? Does anyone have any material or sample code where I can test encryption and security too? It doesn't have to be my own certificates, I just want to see it work and then I can possibly tailor it to my needs. After the SOAP request, there will be a provided response which I assume I will have to decrypt.
I found this thread, but it doesn't seem to use signatures or an SSL connection. Does VS 2010 have some extra features to help out on this? I believe the SOAP should look like this.
<soap:Envelope>
<soap:Header>
<svchdr:ServiceHeader>
<svchdr:StaticRegion>...</svchdr:StaticRegion>
<svchdr:DynamicRegion>...</svchdr:DynamicRegion>
</svchdr:ServiceHeader>
<wsse:Security>
(Signature Info)
</wsse:Security>
<soap:Body>
...
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>

I already signed Android Cloud to Device Messaging form and I received confirmation email from c2dm service.Everything seems ok in client side, it's getting registration_id in simulator environment. i have a discussion going on in the organisation where i am employed as a consultant. The discussion revolves around the replacement of a application built using VB6(MDI) thick client. This application has around 100 screen + 40 reports. Used by approx 400 users the reports and the data are pulled using inline queries while the db structure is pretty normalized . the rest of the code is pretty bad. While discussing replenishment strategies we are throwing around a few ideas.
J2EE Web application running on Web sphere using Crystal reports for Reports. ASP.NET web forms web application using crystal reports for reports. Windows Client application (WPF/Win-forms) with reporting services for the reports.
While i don't want to start a flame war(Dot net vs Java or WEb vs Desktop) it would be nice to know the community thoughts on the matter. Just to be upfront i feel that option 3 maybe the best version. ut i would like to know the opinions of others.

I've the Javascript code to do a confirmation before deletion of some records
function confirmDelete()
{
if(confirm('Delete all?'))
{
return true;
}
else
{
return false;
}
}
I've the button code here
<asp:Button ID="btnDelete" runat="server" onClientClick="return confirmDelete();" onClick="btnDelete_click" />
If i've the button outside an update panel (basically i'm using RadAjaxPanel by Telerik) it is working fine. But when the button is inside an ajax panel, even if i click OK for deleting the records the server side code is not called.

I have a very simple ASP.NET web application created under Visual Studio 2008 (SP1), targeting .NET 3.5.
Startup page is a dumbed down ASPX page with 4 text boxes, a button, and two JScript functions:
An OnLoad handler for the body. This function just sets the values of the text boxes to certain dates and times for testing.An OnClick handler for the button. This handler invokes the Localization web service and displays the results thereof.
Localization is a web service. Its job is to get the user's region and country information, create a CultureInfo object, and parse the date and time information so that it can verify that the start date is prior to the end date. It's the only reliable way to do this without reams of JScript code that essentially reinvents the wheel. The result is returned as a JSON string.
Everything seemed to be working just fine, until I started getting these weird error messages from the debugger. The debugger will break on this line :
try {
_this._webRequest.completed(Sys.EventArgs.Empty);
}
finally { // <-- RIGHT HERE, specifically, on the brace
if (_this._xmlHttpRequest != null) {
_this._xmlHttpRequest.onreadystatechange = Function.emptyMethod;
_this._xmlHttpRequest = null;
}
}
The error message is this:
Microsoft JScript compilation error: Expected ';'
Now, this is baffling, and research has usually recommended ensuring that Java was installed. I scoffed at first, thinking that I, with my vast and clearly superior intellect, could not possibly have made so foolish a mistake and that everyone knew the difference between Java and JavaScript. So, when no one was looking, I tried it. It made no difference.
I have no idea what is causing this to occur. The stack trace reveals that it's the only call on the stack. There aren't even any local variables to work with. And the file that it occurs in is a generated dynamic script resource. The function, however, is the _onReadyStateChange function of the Sys.Net.XMLHttpExecutor object. So I can at least say it's occurring consistently in the AJAX code.
Has anyone else seen this? If you did, what was its cause and how did you resolve it?
Server Side:
Windows 2000
IIS 7
ASP.NET
.NET 3.5
Development
Visual Studio 2008 SP1
.NET 3.5
IE 8
IIS 7

I have web service (.NET 2.0), in this i have added proxy class of my client's web service. Client's web service is in Java. I have to pass SOAP requet in following format
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="[URL]xmlns:xsd="[URL]xmlns:xsi="[URL]instance">

<AuthenticationToken xmlns="[URL]

}
[WebMethod]
[SoapHeader("AuthenticationToken")]
public string HelloWorldTest1()
{
AuthenticationToken .Password = "username";
AuthenticationToken .Username = "password";
ClientWebServices s1 = new ClientWebServices();
string soapbody="";

return res;
}// end of method
} //end of service class
public class MyHeader : SoapHeader

I have a hardtime to consume this web service as Web Reference or Service Reference: [URL] I'm using VS2010 and when I consume it as Web Reference, I can't use its method because in the reference.cs, it has these errrors:
// CODEGEN: The operation binding 'getStationCharacteristicSummary' from namespace '[URL]was ignored. The encoding '' is not supported.
If i consume it as WCF, then each time I call the service, it complained the encoding error. May someone try to consume it and help me with this.

I've created a simple WCF service hosted by ASP.NET web site:
[Code]....
I can add references to this service as to WCF service, as to WebService.WcfTestClient application successfully recognized service and its methods.
But "Web Service Studio" [URL] can't get a list of operations... Why? How to diagnose/resolve that?
P.S. I work under VS 2008 using .NET 3.5

I'm looking for a way to access a Java API from both a Java console application and an ASP.Net application.In short my Java API exposes a series of methods for dealing with invoices. All of these methods are essentially commands e.g.
GenerateAllInvocies
GenerateInvoiceNumber
PrintAllInvoices
PrintInvoiceNumber
All methods will interact with the database. I had believed Web Services was going to be my means for interop. But I have since been made aware of Java Stored Procedures in Oracle.
