I am using forms authentication, and a session object to hold user information once the user is authenticated.
I am able to login and log out. I am able to log in and use the "remember me" functionality of the forms authentication.
When attempting to test the "remember me" functionality, the master page load event contains code to check the forms authentication & remember me, and retrieve user info from the database to automatically log the user in. This fires correctly, and the screens all load with the user successfuly logged in, and the users info is successfully stored in a session object.
Without touching anything on the screen, a moment passes and then the master page load event spontaneously fires again, Page.User.Identity.Name still contains the user name, however the session variable is now null, and throws an error. If I tell it to run past this error, it does, and the application continues to function normally, withthe session variables set correctly.
Its almost as if that second firing is ina different session, or something.
I have no problem posting code, but I have a profile class holding / handling the session communication, etc so it is a bit cumbersome.
I have developed an application using Visual Studio 2008. I have a hirerchical gridview and on every row i have a "Payment" button which actually inserts a payment entry in database. Here is the sample screen of that gridview so u have an idea what i am doing. Problem is that whenever user pressed the button of "PAYMENT" it is inserting multiple records in database..it should only fire once and i am failed to understand why its firing multiple times. Refer this link for my payment screen: [URL]
I think I summed up the question in the title. Here is some further elaboration...I have a web user control that is used in multiple places, sometimes more than once on a given page. The web user control has a specific set of JavaScript functions (mostly jQuery code) that are containted within *.js files and automatically inserted into page headers. However, when I want to use the control more than once on a page, the *.js files are included 'n' number of times and, rightly so, the browser gets confused as to which control it's meant to be executing which function on.What do I need to do in order to resolve this problem? I've been staring at this all day and I'm at a loss.
I'm using the local database functionality in Chrome and Safari and what I do when I want to save this to a remote database is to create a hidden textfield and then using JSON to stringify each row. In the code behind I then parse each JSON object and insert it into the list. What I want to do now is to delete these rows from the local database. I have a JavaScript function called deletePatient:
I have a form which inserts data in DB on Submit button click but the problem is when client click the button multiple times its sends multiple create requests means multiple button click events for the same time of same data, which must not be.
I tried to disable the button when client click the Submit button first time but after this it does not call server click event handler or not fire the server click event once it got disabled.
so here is the setup. I am building a page that has a listview, a datapager, and 3 datapagerfield (2 x NextPreviousPagerField, 1 x NumericPagerField), and a objectdatasource to tide all of this together.
It was all working fine until I put a breakpoint into the SelectMethod specified in the objectdatsource control. It seems like that for each datapagerfield control, it is calling the selectmethod and selectcount method. Hence, whenever a user paged, it calls the database 6 times instead of 2 (I don't have caching turned on atm). If I remove one datapagerfield, it will remove 2 calls.
Now this is build in asp.net 3.5 SP1 in VS2008. When I copied the same code files to a asp.net 4.0 VS2010 solution, it duplicate call seems to be gone.
I have an ASP.NET 3.5 web application. There is a Master page with lots of client script and some simple server side controls. I have a user control that has a modal popup extender inside an update panel and some client script as well. When I add this user control on the Master page inside a new update panel whose update mode is set to conditional, and I add a link button whose click will initiate a method of this user control, the Master page's behaviour changes in a strange manner. All the buttons and link buttons start to fire their Click even on the second click. Nothing happens on the first click. As soon as I remove this user control from the Master page, everything seems to get back to normal and Click event fires on first click as it should. I hope I have clearly mentioned the problem here. I have already spent quite a long time trying to find out the reason for this but of no use.
now a days i'm working on my project. In project there is a aspx page which is binded with a masterpage, the problem is that when i run the project in debugging mode i found that page load event of a page is firing two times instead of one along with masterpage page's page load event. This is crreating a problem in filling a grid. I searched through the internet for this problem some says that it may happen if u have any image whose src="" or due to some bad HTML's on page .But i've gone through the page it does not contain any image whose src="" .
In my project i need to collect customer bank details like bank Name ,Account type ,bank balance etc etc ... what would be the best way to design such that it allows us add multiple bank details to a single customer ?? and after we enter all the details all the banks details should appear in the same screen .
I have a class in my App_Code folder called Order. On one of my pages I am trying to create two different orders using this class.
[Code]....
When I run the page each of the Response.Write statements ouputs a 2. But this is not correct. One should be 3 and the other should be 2. Does anyone know why this is not working?
I have a class in my App_Code folder called Order. On one of my pages I am trying to create two different orders using this class.
Private Order1 As Order Private Order2 As Order Sub Page_Load(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal E As EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim CartID As String = 4525543 Order1 = GetOrderFromDatabase(CartID) Order2 = Order1 Order2.Shipping = 3 Order1.Shipping = 2 Response.Write(o.Shipping) Response.Write(Order2.Shipping) End Sub

I have a LinkButton which fires an OnClick event to update some Labels; however, after the first firing of OnClick, it won't fire again when I click another (or the same) LinkButton which runs the same OnClick event. (It's a list of people, each a LinkButton, and clicking on one brings up their details)
If I leave the page a few minutes, it will work again, almost as if whatever was preventing OnClick firing timed-out. Of course, this won't be any use to the users!
This is my ASP.NET code for the LinkButtons (encapsulated in a DataList):
[Code]....
All the connections work, the data is retrieved, etc, so everything except the OnClick firing works. I've done a search of the internet and the forum, and found this seems to have been a long-standing problem since the first ASP.NET, but there is no solution for ASP.NET 3.5. Does anyone know what causes this, or where I might be going wrong?
I'm overriding the Controller.Initialize method to set some stuff before each ActionResult is executed, however I'm finding that the method is being called multiple times for each request (anywhere between 2 - 10 times). I'm running in Cassini.
My hunch is that it is running for all static files (images, css etc) as well as the requested action - although I may be wrong? I thought maybe something was wrong in my web.config but it all looks right to me.
I have the JQuery tab control on my page and each tab will be using the same partial view with a filter set of the model. What is the best way to do this?
The only thing is the data needs to be filtered before it gets to each partial view.
I am currently putting the filtered model data in ViewData but I do not know how to reference that in the partial views.
a look at this site.maimei.chAfter 5 times opening a new site via ajax (fancybox) it crashes in IE?ne little thing is that i load a whole asp.net site via ajax in the new window. so viewstate and other overhead is there twice after. could this be the problem? if yes, why just after 5 times?.is it possible to call just the content of an specific element via ajax? may be just the innerhtml of the body element of the called site?
A class in my ASP.NET website needs to access a database table multiple times for every request. The database table should rarely change, if ever. Maybe a couple times a month.
In the static constructor of the class, the table is fetched from the DB and cached in a static local variable. Whenever the class needs to access the table, then, it just uses the cached, static version.
My question concerns the lifespan of this cached, static version of the table.
I understand that it's fetched the first time the class is instantiated or a static method in the class is used. But how often does this occur on the web server? What if the table changes and we want to reset this static version of the table?
Basically, I'm wondering, is this table fetched once and then only refetched each time I restart IIS? What, with regard to the site and IIS, will trigger this static class to reset, causing the static table to be refetched?
In my MVC application ,I am updating my web.config at runtime through application_start event. So, ideally it should be done only when the application is started.BUT in MY mvc application the application_start event of global.asax is being called multiple times , even when i have not restarted the application.
Its being repetadly called when i am calling different actions , so the webconfig is repetedly updating & making my application very very slow. what's the reason & how to handle this .
ClickQuickPick() is the code I will eventually run, but I put in the Alert for testing.
The issue is that when the popup extender opens, and I click an item, I get the alert once. If I click another choice I get the alert twice. If I click another choice I get the alert three times, etc.
What is triggering the event to repeat, and how do I stop it?
I have a masterpage setup, with a pageLoad in the topmost masterpage, which calls pageLoad2 for nested masterpages which calls pageLoad3 for content pages.
In my content page I have a jquery click event and in my nested masterpage I have a web user control.
Whenever I use the user control in the nested masterpage, it rebinds the click event in the content page (undoubtedly because the pageLoad3 is called again), but this makes the click event fire twice on a single click. The problem gets worse the higher up masterpages you go (eg. fires 3 times if user control from topmost masterpage is called).
how to make sure it only binds the jquery events once?
I have a InsertCommand function i am using to insert the dropdownlist in my updatepanel. When the Add button is clicked. It adds the record multiple times. Am not sure why it does this. Here is my code.
Dim Bank_number As DropDownList = UpdatePanel1.FindControl("ddlbank")Dim NoteAccountNumber As DropDownList = UpdatePanel1.FindControl("ddlAccount")' UpdatePanel1.ChangeMode(FormViewMode.Insert) lblsee.Visible = "true" 'now collect selected information on the drop down RelationshipTest.InsertParameters( RelationshipTest.InsertParameters( "bank_number").DefaultValue = ddlBank.SelectedValue.ToString"noteaccountnumber").DefaultValue = ddlAccount.SelectedValue.ToString'Insert into db RelationshipTest.Insert()
Also, i was woundering if any of you might know the logic behind clearing inserted data from the dropdownlist once its inserted. I am trying to make sure data is not entered mulitiple times. Unique Indexing comes to mind but thats only on the backend.
I am having a problem with ajaxcontroltoolkit 3.5. I am getting the following error
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: The script 'Timer.js' has been referenced multiple times. If referencing Microsoft AJAX scripts explicitly, set the MicrosoftAjaxMode property of the ScriptManager to Explicit."
I have migrated ajax web app from 2.0 to 3.5 and have changed ScriptManager to ToolkitScriptManager.
