I am using one datalist control for uploading multiple images.I hv used one Asp:FileUplaod Control and one button in one itemtemplate.I am using reqired field validator and regular expression validator for file upload cntrl I am assigning validation group for both of them on ItemDataBound event of my datalist so that each upload cntrl hv same validaton group as required field and regular expression validator.Now what i want to do is - i want to show my error message in validation summary which is right at the top of the page.I want one know how to write javascript that will assign validation group of my control in datalist on which i click ?
n a form I have multiple group of controls which are grouped using validation group property. I want to assign validation group to asp.Button dynamically on client side using javascript on the base of item selected in drop down list.
Here is JavaScript which I am using, but it is not working. It shows validation group undefined but actually a default group is defined.
<script type="text/JavaScript"> function NextClicked() { var _ddlStatus = document.getElementById("<%=ddl.ClientID%>"); var _selectedIndex = _ddlStatus.selectedIndex; var _btn = document.getElementById("<%=btnNext.ClientID%>");
alert(_btn.ValidationGroup); // here in messge it shows undefiend, yet I have defiend a group in button as default.
if (_selectedIndex == 1) { _btn.ValidationGroup = "G1"; } if (_selectedIndex == 2) { _btn.ValidationGroup = "G2"; } }
I have asp.net form having 4 check boxes. not check box list. these 4 check boxes having the ValidationGroup property with same name say "chkValied". I have added Custom Validator there. now want to check at least on check box should be check out of these.
I want the validation condition to be: on a pair of textboxes, to be valid as long as at least one of them isn't empty.
So I put a customvalidator on the 2nd textbox, hooked up to the following server code and client code:
<script type="text/javascript"> function ECPhoneOrEmailRequired(source, args) { var ecPhone = document.getElementById("txtEmergencyPhone"); var ecEmail = document.getElementById("txtEmergencyEmail"); if (ecPhone.value.length < 1 && ecEmail.value.length < 1) { args.IsValid = false; } else { args.IsValid = true } } </script> Protected Sub CustomValidator1_ServerValidate(ByVal source As Object, ByVal args As System.Web.UI.WebControls.ServerValidateEventArgs) 'args.IsValid If (txtEmergencyPhone.Text = String.Empty And txtEmergencyEmail.Text = String.Empty) Then args.IsValid = False Else args.IsValid = True End If End Sub
From what I can tell thru breakpoints, this code works fine as long as there's something in one of the two textboxes. When both textboxes are empty, the code is never called - and so both boxes empty ends up being allowed.
So what's the correct way to validate one-or-the-other-nonempty condition?
Requirment is: while enterening the value you should know that this values is already we have used in data base for that textbox field.Please give code in .aspx and .aspx.cs with database if any
I have two text box and one button with asp.net Validation control on button click i have this below code.. If textbox is empty on clciking it fire validation as well as itz going to D.aspx.. still textbox is empty why it fairing and redirect to D.aspx still textbox empty...
function populateDDL(ddl_id) { var option_str = ""; var x; for(x in datalist){ option_str += " <asp:ListItem Value='" + datalist[x] + "' Text='" + datalist[x] + "'></asp:ListItem>" } var country_div = document.getElementById(ddl_id); country_div.innerHTML = option_str; }
This is sure the datalist is not empty and also Dropdown list populated perfectly..but dnt know why after clicking on my page add button I am not getting the selected value.
How can I disable the code behind validation when javascript validation is present? Then if there is no javascript enabled then the code behind validation will do its thing. What I notice is that it's reading the code behind valdiation not the javascript.
I have code when I click on button I want show the value of selected List item in textbox but following code gisplay the item in alert,,
<html><script>function getValue(){ var x=document.getElementById("sel");for(var i =0; i < x.options.length; i++){if(x.options[i].selected ==true){ alert(x.options[i].value);}}}</script></head><body><selectmultiple="multiple"id="sel"><optionvalue="volvo">Volvo</option><optionvalue="saab">Saab</option><optionvalue="opel">Opel</option><optionvalue="audi">Audi</option></select><inputtype="button"value="Get Value"onclick="getValue()"/></body></html>
We have a page with quite a few textboxes and a dropdown list at the end. The dropdown list at the end is a "Result" and dependant on the result certain textboxes need to be filled in and this needs to be checked when they submit the page. I was thinking of using a custom validator
I currently have 3 textbox controls on my page. I also have a required valdiator of each of the textboxes. However I only want the validator for a textbox to fire if there is text in either of the other 2 textboxes. If all 3 textboxes are empty then no validators should fire. Is there any way I can do this in javascript/jquery as I want the user to get the best experience possible.
create List of dynamic asp:Label, asp:textbox and asp:button when asp:dropdown selected index changed Dropdown List - ddlLang - English, Italian, French, German
If English is selected from ddlLang Create new asp:Label, asp:textbox and asp:button. If French is selected create another new asp:Label, asp:textbox and asp:button. In the same way so on.... and when button submit clicked get all dynamic text box values and label values to Save to DB.
I want to change the background and border color of textbox when its validated bay validation control. Here ErrorMessage="*" But is want also change the background or border color of textbox.
i create a number of dynamic textbox in my page using server control but these control call the javascript function , so , now i want to validate the each dynamic text for validation of name server
I am trying to make ONE thing work. The form currently have TWO Textboxes and ONE CustomValidator(connected to the first textbox). I simply want once I enter less than 4 characters in the first Textbox and tab out to the second Textbox and if Javascript is DISABLED then the server side code should stop me. I can achieve what I am trying to do if I use a button but I need to do it in the fashion I am trying decribing because if I have for example 20 textboxes on the form I want the user to see after each data entry that his validation was successful or not. Here is a sample of my code.
I have two control page in my aspx page. first one left side "tree view",second one right side " form design".Form design will change based on tree view selected index changed.i have 4 level child node(site, master , slave, space). I have seperate forms to each level of node.
cannot update tree node when update the forms. so i reload tree view.
now i need how to auto selected index change to tree node.
ex.
1 parent node
1.1 child node
1.2 child node
i have update "1.2 child node" rename to "1.3 child node"
and reload treeview so it will chage...
how set tree node.selected index = 1.3 child node....
I have been trying to use the [Remote] attribute to perform remote validation in MVC3, but the namespace/type cannot be found. I thought it was in the System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations assembly, but I have checked in the Object Browser and I can't find it.
I have inserted a login page using createuserwizard. but RequiredFieldValidator and CompareValidator does not perform at all and even all textboxes are blank, page is submitted and a record created in database
