I have a page that redirects a user after they login ..It works fine in most browsers but IE6 does not work.In IE6 it simply just refreshes the login page and does not take the user to the orginal requested page.any ideas?

It worked just fine untill this week, but now it fails to login.
the odd think is that it do login from localhost, but when trying to login through the profuction site it fails to login. this is happens to all users.
I have just turned on all membership infrastructure, maked an "Administrator" and successfully logined using standard LoginForm control.But when I uploaded my website on hosting server, I couldn't login anymore.I have MachineKey in web.config. Perhaps I need to set something on server (it is my VDS).
View 5 RepliesI am using Visual Studio 2008 Express and created a login page using the ASP.net web site Adminstration tool security to generate users and passwords.
After login, a new page appears. I have a button to go back to the login page to allow a user to relogin. When I try loging in again as a different user or the same, I get an error saying the resource that I am looing for was not available.
I have a button on the page after login (one this one page will occur) and I am using on on click event to do the following:
FormsAuthentication.Initialize()
FormsAuthentication.SignOut()
Response.Redirect("~/Login.Aspx")
After clicking on this button, the Login page appears again. How can I release everyting to allow it to work like when I first open the application.

I create some asp.net program in Visual Studio 2008. i am using File --> New Website to create website. it work fine when debug F5 in visual Studio.
But after i publish and put the result in folder C:Inetpubwwwroot. that code not work without return any error message so i cannot trace the problem. if The database in same machine with IIS, it work ok. but if database in another computer, i cannot run my Login not work.
i believe the problem is my method deployment still not correct.

i publish website with right clik in solution ,and choose publish website.
i choose the direction. after that ,i copy the folder to C:Inetpubwwwroot.

When i running http://localhost/DW/Login.aspx. it 's running. But when i clik the button submit for submit my username and password it not return anything.

I have a .NET site and am looking to make it usable for iPad.
So far, I simply can't get the ASP.net login control to work on iPad. The user is never classed as logged in.
It's bizarre, if they enter the wrong details the login fails. If they enter the correct details it postsback and remains displying the anonymous content, not the logged-in content.
It works fine in Safari on a desktop, even if I use the 'develop' options to change the user agent to the iPad one. however, on iPad or iPad emulator I get the problem above.

I have a need to create a couple of login page for prospects and end users to get to secured content. I put together a page that works perfectly in Microsoft Visual Web developer Express 2010. This includes a login page. Ironically, after learning how to do all this from a book, there is a web page that perfectly chronicles what I am trying to accomplish and the steps to do it. I don't expect you to watch it, but there is a simple aspx page created for login and then users are created and the content is displayed after successful login. It works fine in m development environment, but when I post, nothing. Furthermore, twice in the last two days, after downloading my current site to my hard drive, and then posting back after adding this functionality, my FrontPage forms stopped working. I had to have my website restored from backup. The whole thing makes no sense and I can't find any precedence posted on any user forums. So any testing I do seems to wipe out my navigation structure.
I'm going to establish the site on a different server tonight and see if its configuration. If that works, I'm not sure where to g next. I'd appreciate any thoughts. The worst part is I can't post a test page or my Fropage contact forms stop working.
I have created a login page using the login control provided by the visual web developer and set up all the accounts and roles using the web admin tool. Everything works fine if I run the page within the developer but when I host it on IIS, The login does not work. It shows the invalid password message from the login control.

What I used are: CreateUserWizard, LoginView, Login, LoginStatus, and LoginName.
They are working excellent in Google Chrome. When I was working on the project my default browser was Google Chrome, that is why when I run the project from Visual Studio 2008 everything was alright.
However, later when I decided to check all functionalities on other browsers, Login controls don't work on any version of Opera and IE.
For example, when I fill the CreateUserWizard and click Create User button, it does very fast Postback, then nothing happens at all (no user created in the database).
Same with Login control, when I try to login with existing user details, it does very fast PostBack again and doesn't authenticate.

I have my website in which there are free links and links that require login. Free links open even if the user is not logged in. But in case of links that require login, redirect to login.aspx specified in Web.Config in loginURL tag.
I want some way to override this and show Ajax modal popup (Ajax extender toolkit) with login control for only thos links that require login (not for the free links).

When i try to insert my NRIC and password, it's like not passing through the statement, it just say login sucessfully eventhough i put the wrong NRIC/Password/Not valid..

I am getting endless loop when user logged in after some time page is displaying,
and also i ahave masterpage in that i have login button, when i clicked login buton it is not going to the redirected page, appearing in the same page but sessions are going to be assigned(there are some sessions in login button like loginID). If i presss second time login button then user logged in page is appearing. This problem is when uploaded into server, local it is working good.
I need to create an application with Forms Authentication and/or Windows Authentication. If the application is set to use mixed authentication (Forms + Windows Auth) and the user don't have a Windows user account, the login will fail and he must be redirected to a forms login page. How can I do this?
Are there any different way to provide mixed authentication?

I am using web hosting account.
I am working on a web application in C#. I am using FormsAuthenticationTicket to authenticate the user. The user's information is check against a sqlserver database, if the correct credential is entered, (combine the username and password, encrypt them using the FormsAuthentication, and assign the random number generated to a session.), the users is redirected to a welcome pages.
However, I notice that there are times when I run the application, and it takes over five minutes to display the login screen, or I have to stop and start the application in order to display the login screen . Does anyone have an idea what may cause this issue?
