I am considering using the following rules for a casual website. 8-20 chars long valid chars include letters, digits, and symbols case sensitive that's all. My question is, beside white space, is there other symbol that I should consider as "illegal"? Please keep in mind that it is a casual website so I don't need any password policy that is very restricted.
View 8 RepliesI want to make a 2nd website and am using a copy of the site files from my 1st site built for me, I added them via FTP to the hosting company. I realise when I edit the new site via the CMS it is editing both sites plus when I try to change anything to the CSS file I get the following error -

So my questions are what do I need to change to be able to deploy a new site with the files I have to make a new site?I also don't understand where the password is coming from, I can see the User ID comes from the database. in the Asp.net connection strings are the following:

We are using Ultramain(DB: Oracle 10g and Language: Progress) as a MRO application for aircraft health check. Ultramain has more than 3000 users and using this application around the world. Users are forgetting the password frequently and we are getting the mail minimum 10 password reset from the user. I have planned to create a website for reset the password themselves if user valid. Only one button in the website called "RESET". If user click the reset button, it should check the user have already access using the table called "USER". If users have access, it should check the user authentication. If users does have access, the message appears "You do not have an access". If authentication success,update thepassword from the table "RESETPWD" to application table "USER".

- ask for username and email id.
- a link will be send on the email id
-after clicking the link, the user will be able to enter new password.
I am done till step 2(probably) using Guid.
I have a website that is going on a public server so I want to password protect it, but for a while only myself and a couple of others will be using it. I'd like my application to query a csv file from a secure website. Currently I have the user login to the site, manually query the csv, and have my application load the file locally. I'd like to automate this by having the user enter his login information, authenticating him on the website, and querying the data. The application is written in C# .NET. I've tested the following code already and am able to access the file once the user has already authenticated himself and created a manual query.

I have to make changes to classic asp website where once a button is clicked it autologins to a third party website with a intermediate page that warns that you are logging in to a third party website.
The thirdparty is providing us with a username and password and gave us an examle javascript to encode the password to send to them. Now where do I store the userid and password. I cannot execute the javascript on the serverside. It has to go to the client. If the asp page which has the encryption javascript goes to the client side then the source can be viewed and the username and password is given out.
Is there a way that I can have hidden asp page whose only job is to encrypt the password and create a new url and auto redirect it to that new url.
So when the user clicks ok on the intermediate warning page I redirect it to this hidden asp page which does the encryption and a creates a url for get method and redirects to that page.

From the research I've done, it appears only Firefox users are having this problem. I haven't changed my site, so I can't figure out why this is happening. View 4 RepliesWhen a user that has their IE set to save passwords hits my "Reset Password" form, the first text box set with TextMode set to "Password" is populated with the users saved password. Understandable, this is not the affect I would like as this is their "old" password. I cannot set the text of a text box with mode set to "Password" (naturally). Does someone know how to suppress or clear this value when IE is saving passwords?
View 4 RepliesI'm just trying to teach myself a bit of CSS and it's pretty straight forward but I am getting something odd.
I built a css file, tried out various rules, all good.
Now I edit the css file. Everything compiles ok but it's still using the rules as they were before I edited them. I've even removed some of them from the css file and they're still being used. I tried removing the reference to the css file and the rules all stop being used (as I'd expect) but when I add the reference back in and the old rules reappear but not the new ones.
I'm guessing there's some 'built' version of the css file and that's what's actually being used. But rebuilding the website isn't causing the built css to refresh itself so my edits aren't being picked up.

Trying to extract the timezone data from all the time zones using the timezoneinfo class but I have run into a problem. For those timezones that have Daylight savings times I am seeing all kinds of different numbers of adjustmentrules and I have no idea how to determien which rule I shoudl be using for a given timezone. Some have 1 rule, but I see timezones with multiple rules some as high as 11 rules. How do I know which rule I chould be usuing to get the correct DaylightTransitionSart and stop values?

Im using Intelligencia UrlRewriter for url rewriting. I have wrote a set of rules in the web.config file I have two sets pages, Static pages whose name is static but content is CMS based Dynamic pages (actually this is not simply a dynamic page its a category which have description and sub categories) Here both pages are being rewritten from the config file. For instance home page, about us page etc tis is being rewritten as
rewrite url="~/Home" to="~/Default.aspx"
The category page is being the same kind of url its being rewritten as
rewrite url="~/(.*)" to="~/GroupHome.aspx?Group=$1"
I have given the rules for the static pages first and then the category url but all the urls are being rewritten to grouphome, even if I have given the rule for home page, about us page etc before the category rule. I have tried even the ollowing still its directing to Group home,
