Aug 3, 2010I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc.
Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.

Mar 7, 2011I am working on an ASP.NET Web application and I want it to have audio playback functionality. I can do is using directories. For example, using the ASP.NET Audio control like :- , is pretty easy and straight-forward and works accordingly. But, the trouble comes when I'm using a database and the control. I am totally new to data binding in ASP.NET. I don't like using JavaScript, but i am comfortable using it, but I would prefer C# solution (I know beggars can't be choosers).
I have a database containing only one table called tblAudio. This table has two fields only for the title of the audio file (type NVARCHAR(MAX)) and the field for the actual audio (type VAR BINARY(MAX)). I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Professional with SQL Server Express Edition. The table has a single record with the relevant data in their fields.

Mar 29, 2011I'm trying to add Embeded flash in aspx page running on iis 7.5 windows server 2008. When i'm adding the Embeded code src=/mylocation/test.swf it works fine. But when I'm adding fileserver location src="file:\c: est.swf the page doesn't load.
The code works fine in normal html file on my desktop.

MVC Quicktime / Mov Doesn't Play?
Mar 23, 2011I am trying to embed a mov onto a cshtml page, all the resources seem to be referencing properly but the video won't play.
The videos are located in the /Content/Videos directory. I thought it was a permission issue but I granted everyone permission with no luck. Could this be an IIS issue? (Checked mime types for mov) or do I have put to do something in the global.asax (routes.IgnoreRoute) for mov files extensions?
Firebug shows when the player is clicked to play the video it does a successful get of the video but I don't think it is supposed to do a get action, I tested the same video from a plain html page opened from the file system, it doesn't invoke a get action when player is clicked.
I also tried to play the movie by typing the whole path in the address bar again no luck it just comes up with a quicktime logo with a question mark inside it.

I believe the aspnetdb inside the actual site in app_code or somewhere is the 'membership db, correct?
Whereas I wish to use all info pertaining to logins/perms from fields in an actual SQL DB since my web app is using a huge DB for a factory floor's production management.
How do I authenticate this way? Also, I would like it to be in a master page, and upon login, redirect to another directory say, '/Members' which is locked out from anonymous browsing.
