Error For Failed Request Tracing: "a Failed Request Trace For This Content Already Exists"

Dec 17, 2010

I am trying to add Failed Request Tracing to my IIS 7/ASP.NET server.

First, I create failed request tracing for "all content, error codes 400-999" because want to save all errors.

Then, I try to create a trace for "all content, time: 5 seconds" because I want to trace all "long" requests. However, IIS 7 gives me an error: "A failed request trace for this content already exists".How can I add this second trace for all content that takes > 5 seconds?

Maintaining Index Value With Partial Views In MVC2 Using Spark?

Jan 4, 2011

I am looking for a way to save index information when iterating through items in a ASP.net MVC 2 using the SPARK view engine. I often have a partial view that iterates through items and a button to add new items.

I want to save the index after displaying the existing items and then pass it back to the same partial view to create and display a new item.

For instance:

<div class="small">Enter the rooms associated with this facility.</div>
<div class="add">
<div id="rooms">
<AddRoom each="var roomModel in Model.FacilityRooms" RoomModel="roomModel" Index="roomModelIndex" />
</div>
<div class="add">
<a id="addRoom" class="add" href="events/room/add.mvc">Add a room</a>
</div>
</div>
<p>
<input type="submit" value="Submit" />
</p>
</form>

I would like to save the Index from the AddRoom loop and use it for the "Add a room" button which calls the AddRoom view again with a blank room object.

MVC :: After Installing MVC3. MVC2 Project Will Not Work?

Jan 5, 2011

I am working on 2 projects. One that is in MVC2 that is an existing application, and then I have the MVC3 application that I am trying to build. After hearing that I could get intellisense for my work in VS2010, I went to install the VS tools for MVC3. Now my old project will not work. I'm not trying to move my MVC2 project to MVC3 right now either.

I didn't actually change anything about the MVC2 project, but now I get this error whenever I try to open a page:

JQuery Events Don't Work With MVC Partial Views?

Feb 3, 2010

I am trying to get JQuery events to work with partial views in ASP.NET MVC. However, after you load a partial view through Ajax, JQuery seems not able to fire events for any of the elements in the partial view. I suspect that this issue will also happen if you are using other frameworks or JavaScript libraries to load partial html code with Ajax.

For instance, consider the following example:

Controller:

[Code]....

Once the page loads for the first time, you can click on the "Click here to display a Javascript message" and you will get a Javascript alert message that says "button clicked". However, once you click on the "Click here to load partial view", clicking on the button that is supposed to bring the Javascript alert message doesn't have any effect. It seems that the 'click' event is not being fired anymore.

why this issue occurs with JQuery and how to fix? This issue also occurs with other JQuery plugins that use events.

Fake Image Using .aspx Url To Track Email Views In Outlook, Doesn't Work

Apr 15, 2010

I have this in my HTML email to track if someone views the email in say Outlook.

<img src="http://www.example.com/track.ashx?user=3434" />

but this doesn't seem to work.Should I change my headers in the .ashx to server image headers? Can this work using this method?

I emailed myself with an email, other images displayed properly. There was no log in the database for the handler (the handler logs all requests to the db). Calling the URL to the file in the browser logs to the db, so its working.

I have Windows 7 Pro and Visual Studio 2010.I've been following this tutorial [URL] and what's driving me insane is that I cannot even get past the first step. I setup my project exactly as the tutorial says, start debugging and all I get is: Server Error in '/' Application.The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404.What the hell? I checked the default MVC application that VS01 builds when you choose "ASP.NET MVC 2 App" instead of "ASP.NET MVC 2 Empty App" and it works.

Tracing Doesn't Show Any Difference

May 20, 2010

I have a page (not online but only on my mashine - and it is on all pages in the application ) when I load that page in IE and look at the clock I can see, that it use about 1 second to load the pageNow I load the page in Firefox or GoogleCrome and again I look at the clock and can see, it takes about 5 seconds to load the page.Then I thought I could use Trace=true on the page to see, where it hangs when loading the page in Firefox or GoogleCrome by comparing with the trace log from the IE page......But the only time differences I can see is, that Firefox uses LESS time than IE to load page.

Track Pages Size Without Tracing?

Jun 6, 2010

I want to be able to track the amount of data that is being transfered from my web site to each user that accesses the site. I can do this for file downloads and such but what about the pure html content itself.

How can I track the output size of a page (or the data that's trasnfered via an AJAX call) to the client and log it against a particular users session?

Also how would this differ when GZip is used in IIS 6.0?

Configuration :: Enterprise Library - Tracing To Logsource General Failed

Apr 19, 2010

I have a web service that I developed on my local machine using the Enterprise Library for database access and exception logging. This all works fine on my machine but not on my server. I get the following error and i do not know why. Tracing to LogSource 'General' failed. Processing for other sources will continue. See summary information below for more information. Should this problem persist, stop the service and check the configuration file(s) for possible error(s) in the configuration of the categories and sinks. I do not see any errors in the configuration. I can get it to log to a flat file but not to the event log or an email it is to send. This is on a Windows Server 2008. Is there any special permissions I need to set? I hope this is the correct place to post a message such as this, if not let me know where to post it to.

C# - .NET MVC Partial Views And Routing - Using Ajax Calls To Trigger A New Request But Non Of The Partial Views Are Refreshed

Mar 9, 2010

I have an MVC view that contains a number of partial views. These partial views are populated using partial requests so the controller for the view itself doesn't pass any data to them. Is it possible to reload the data in one of those partial views if an action was triggered in another? For example, one partial view has a jqGrid and I want to refresh the data in another partial view when a user selects a new row in this grid. Is there a code example for this scenario (in C#) that I can look at to see what am I doing wrong? I am using ajax calls to trigger a new request but non of the partial views are refreshed so I am not sure if the issue is with the routing, the controller,
