AJAX :: ModalPopup And RequiredFieldValidation On Same Page?

I have a page with 1 RequiredFieldValidation control on it. This same page also displays a popup. The popup has a linkbutton on it. When the link button is clicked the validation control displays that a value is required on the underlying page. To be clear the validation control does not display on the popup. It displays on the page where it belongs.
It seems that I would need to disable the validation control when displaying the popup.

I am putting a C# asp.net web form together that has a number of fields that we want to ensure data is inputted in them. I have added the RequiredFieldValidation control, but I am unsure what to put in the Button_Click event. I want the click event to check the fields and if not filled in, preserve the fields that already have data and then return the page data with the missing fields so that they user can take corrective action.

I use a modalpopup ajax extender to show some messages in my web forms, but when thepage is load, the div control that I use for the message is showing for a second. How can I avoid this. There is my code:

I would like a ModalPopup box to only popup when the pages is actually valid.I have tried hiding and showing my panels with statements inside - If Page.IsValid Then...but this didn't work.The modalPopop opens up everytime on submit(btnSubmit1).This is my extender code:

i have a modal popup n my asp.net page.
by clicking on Button i can show the popup and my parent page is disabled (But i am still able to scroll on the parent page. which is not the purpose).

I see a lot of people have been asking this question, some was because of the if postback check , but mine is different. i am using AjaxModalExtender to show my popup on the server side. this is my markup

as you can see i have a gridview that will be on the modal and its working fine, now after the grid has returned some results, i will select one record via the checkbox on the Grid and click the button "btnPickrecord" and this will fire my server side code

the breakpoints got a hit and i stepped through it and i the value get assigned to the textbox <b> txtreference.Text</b> , but when i close the modal the textbox is empty , or while the modal is open i can see the value does not reflect in the parent page. Here is the Code for invoking the modal

I've a parent page with a long form. I am opening ajax modal popup extender on the click of a radio button.

In child.aspx, I've another long form. When the submit button is clicked, I am doing some processing, after that need to close the modal popup window and refresh my parent page, without disturbing the values already entered in the parent page.

I am using ModalPopupExtender of Ajax Control Toolkit(v2.0.50727) as shown in the following way.
The problem iam facing is whenver i try to show the Popup ,Postback of entire page is happening which is cauisng lot of performance issues.

my problem is related with modalpopup control. i made a login control using it.

This works fine. Problem is this. When i click btniptal and then i refresh the page modal shows again. But When i click btngiris and then i refresh the page modal doesn't show. When clicking the btniptal button, the modalpopup should not show.If i make this codes in aspx page everything is ok. But i make this in usercontrol.

I have the modal popup come up for searching something. Inside the popup (panel) I have a txtbox and a search button. I enter text and hit 'search' and the results are shown in a listview within the popup. Now every row in the list view has a button "Select". I want to click on one of those buttons to select a particular value.
Now on click of the button(within the listview), I tried calling a javascript function and doing $find('mdlPopup').hide(); , which makes the popup dissappear. But somehow the debugger takes me straight to Global.asax.Application_Error() and doesn't even give me a stack trace to see wht the issue is. And over that, the popup looks dissapeared, but the rest of the controls on the page are not enabled back. Strange?
I'm assuming, that the popup doesn't close as intended and it errored out (which took me to Global.asax.Application_Error() ), and is not enabling the rest of the controls in the page.So my question is, how do I assign multiple buttons in a listview to the okbutton (or cancelbutton) of a modalpopup extender?

I have a page.. which im trying to implement a gridview that allows you to select from it, it will open a modalpopup with a list of records linked to the selection.. now within that popup, you can pick a individual record so you can see full details..So my question is, can you have multiple modalpopup's open at the same time? If not then is there anyway to reopen the first popup with the list again so that you can pick another record

I'm trying to use ModalPopup Extender but I can't make it to be a true modal control. In my app I'm using asp menu and the menu is always enabeld and active when the ModalPopup is activated. Other controls on the page seem to be disabled (i.e. as expected).

If I remove Validator on my ModalPopUp's panel then it works alright.

i have used modalpopupextender in my project .. in that i have dropdownlist .problem is that when i want to select any item from the list by arrow keys the control goes from modalpopup to vertical scrollbar of the main screen and whole screen get scrolling when i use up and down arrow key...
i don't want it , i want when i use up and down arrow key the control should be on the modalpopup..

It works fine with FF where one cannot click any other place except the popup. However, in IE8, the window behind the popup is clickable and selectable as if the popup did not exist.

I have a modalPopup that I am using for the end user to add some information. One of the items that I need added is a Date. I am trying to use the Calendar from the ToolKit, but not having any luck. It appears that when I activate the modalPopup, the Calendar pop up also activates. Therefore, the Image that I have for the calendar is not working, the calendar is automatically displayed, and when I click a date, the modalPopup closes not just the calendar.

I have a simple example of a ModalPopup with a panel that appears in the center of the ModalPopup and a couple of buttons in that panel. One of the buttons is a cancel and the other is an OK button. No matter how many other buttons that I add each one closes the ModalPopup. I need to keep the ModalPopup open so that I can run a few calculations then click a close button.
