I have a javascript for amout calculation and validation for grid controlsi have called this function on grid rowdataboundfor few gridtext controls i have set onblur event & for few i have onchnage event the problem is for few grid textbox where i have validated i get the mesaage even before the control get focusi want the alert message only when that particular control has lost focus not other wise.
but not able to show an alert when this listview is edited in Pop-up window.it shows "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Error .any idea how to show an alert here!!

Based on below SQL script show that if recordcount is true then update the QTY - @QTY else insert the data.
How to write the statement is the input @QTY is more that existing QTY, then pop up alert message show that "QTY is not available, there is more than existing QTY" else if the input @qty is 0, then show alert message "NOt able to key in 0 QTY".
Then redirect Or return to main form(NOt able to do transaction).

I am trying to make a Javascript Alert appear when someone clicks on a textbox that is part of a Gridview. the textbox is an Item template and I have an onclick="NotePopup()" in the TextBox properties. I am having trouble grabbing the correct ID of the text box, because it is nested inside a gridview. I have been looking around on Google for a solution but none of the responses are working for me. The gridview will have multiple rows, so each textbox that could potentially be clicked will have a different ID, is there any way to pass the correct ID to the Javascript, or have the Javascript function grab the correct ID?
I did use

then cut and paste the ID from ViewSource of a textbox and append it to the Control Variable, to test out the popup and it does work

I want to use the AJAX MaskedEditExtender so the user only ever inputs the data in this format 12-34-56.

This initially works fine, however when i remove the focus on this text box the input removes any hyphen and the texbox value is left like this 123456.

I have a text box in a gridview that is causing some problems with user input. The first time the user opens the page the gridview is populated with zero's in all rows textboxes. I set the focus to the first textbox in the Page_Load event but the cursor is placed to the left of the zero and when some users enter data they don't realize the zero doesn't go away so the first row ends up wrong. Once the tab or enter key is hit and the next row is selected, the zero is "selected", for lack of a better term like when the insert key is predded, and once the user starts typing only the new value remains. Is there a way to make the zero in the first row "selected" ?
Currently on the gridview i display a list medicine stock and if the medicine quantity less then certain quantity, it will be highlighted on the row. After that, i want to display a message said that the medicine need to be restock ? I have try using string builder however message does not come out.
