how do i insert date and time together ? what is the format for this. i tried like this but its not working.

This is the sqlDateTime overflow problem again. Background. As I'm sure you know dates must be between 1/1/1753 and 12/31/2999. If you have an empty date field, it throws and exception. So I created a function (below) that solve the problem when attempting to update or insert a record with a date field. Works great.

So I thought about using a time field. I have the field, have the validator in place and then attempted to test the page. It resulted in my least favorite error message "sqlDateTime overflow".
I can think of several workarounds like adding a date or a fixed date to the time field, or converting it to a string. Each of these is problematic.
IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO UPDATE/INSERT TIME FIELDS.

I have some issues about retrieveing and storing date information to my database (ms sql server 2005).My data column is a DateTime, and i have set my web.config globalization culture is set to "en-gb"
When i retrieve date from the datebase it appears as dd/MM/yy, that's fine. But i cannot insert a new date as same format?! It will only accept MM/dd/yy or yy/mm/dd.Right now i'm using this code to correct the error:

I am selecting time from dropdownlist. and want to convert it in datetime and store it in database. When I am converting it to Datetime using following statement.

but it is showing as : date:12:00:00AM

I have turned on Option Explicit On so the default date of 01/01/1900 does not get assigned to this field automatically. Since most of the people in the database will not have a date of death, I need to have "blank" deathDate. When I run the stored procedure within SQL and choose pass null value, the Insert Procedure works fine. When I attach to Web Form, however, I get String was not recognized as a valid DateTime error. How can I set it so Null values are accepted into this date field.

1. Enter a datetime in a text box in web form 1
2. Show the date time in the label in the web form 2
3. In web form 2, create a dropdownlist to get a nearest date from database (datatype = DateTime in dd/MM/yyyy) to the date entered from step 1.
In step 1, I am only allowed to enter the date time in US style in text box and I have tried manything like:

I have a Formview in INSERT Mode that is binded to a datatable. One of the colums in my Database called "AppointmentDate" is of type DateTime. On aspx, i have a ajax calender extender control.
