I have used ASD.NET code using SQL Database for Transaction operation successfully. By changing the Database Code to interface with MYSQL an Error occurs. If I remove the Transaction Code from within the the application, it works OK by displaying the MYSQL data (Read Only) in the layout of the application. I am using Mysql Essential-4.1.22-win32 and MYSQL Connector ODBC-3.51.2. My objective is to EDIT the MYSQL Data.

Some of the database entries, like category, is stored as integer values, but I want to display the category name in the search result (not the corresponding integer value). I have also another issue, every time I change the dropdown list values (which are having "auto postback" enabled) the <EmptyDataTemplate> is returned. At this moment I am using GridView. But I am ready to change this to any other method, like repeater or whatever...

I have a application which connects to database. I have like 97 thousands data on the database. When I search something from front end and display those matching results on the browser, it crashes everytime (for huge number of data).
I'm using Dataset to retrieve data from database and display those matching results on Gridview(or repeater).
e.g. If I search 'abuse' it matches 65 thousands records and I can't retrieve and display those on browser, the browser crashes everytime.
I can search and display whole records without crashing the browser?
is dere any way that i can store or insert images into the mysql database and retrieve them successfully just like textual data.

I've added reference to my project- the file "MySQL.data.dll"
Actually, i've copied the file from "MySQL Connector Net 6.2.2Assemblies" to "MyWebSitein" and then added reference.
Then, typed "using MySQL.data" and as you can guess, i've got that message:

I have a page where I will insert all the data into the database. The page where I'm having problems is when I select an item from the checkboxlist it only displays one item. The data which is displayed is only the one that was inserted with one selected item from the checkboxlist. The following code is the page I'm using to try to retrieve the data from the database. I am trying to do is when a user selects the first, second, or third, or fourth item. The corresponding data appears in the gridview. In my current code, the record which has one item selected appears. If the user has more than one selected it does not appear. It comes up as empty. Is there a way I can do it?

I developed a web site more then a year ago with .net2.0/c#/mssql 2005. it works fine but i was asked to replace mssql with mysql.
I wrote a class to complete data access works (unfortunately, I didnt use nhibernate or other data access tools :((
I edited the class to use System.Data.Odbc objects rather than System.Data.SqlClient.
It works fine in selecting data but not manipulating data. when i try to insert new data it adds null data for all fields in the table.
in debug mode, i noticed that it might be caused by OdbcParameter but not sure.

1) I need to make reading CSV file from the fileupload and then retrieve the data.
2) I need to load CSV and the 3 columns rise two functions.
Load CSV data and then stored in a database, but I need to save storage space vary according to 3 column.
CSV Example:
1 column - Cat, 2 column - Black, 3 column - 1
1 column - Dog, 2 column - Brown, 3 column - 2

Now I need to load the CSV in C # and column 3 to distinguish what the operation is carried out.When the load line in column 3 contain the value 1, so will save the table 'Cats' when the value 2 and is saved in the table "Dogs".(Note: Data are separated ";")

View 5 RepliesI just moved to a new 2008 64 Bit Server. We are using MySQL, now also the 64 Bit version. Now I found out that there is a 64 Bit ODCB Driver, but not an 64 Bit Net/Connector.
Is that an issue or is the .NET Connector by default 32 and 64 Bit?
