I would like to ask if there is any control act like grid to display records.The 'datasource' will be a customed class, this dataclass has List<T>, so I will populate each element by iteration into the grid.Any control can I use to work like a grid?The number of records will around 100.This control should also allow the user to select a record.

I am new to asp.net programming!!I have a datGrid Control on my web page and am able to load the data into the datagridafter loading the data to the grid , when i select a row from the grid I am loading those values into the text boxes that are present on Now what the problem , if my grid has say 20 records and having the vertical scroll to view all the 20 rows.
When i want to show the data of the 16 row ( say in this instance ) after scrolling the down for the 16 row ...after selecting the 16 row the data is getting posted to the corresponding textboxes ,but the here the data is getting scrolled to top after selection and not able to see the seleted row , for this i need to scroll down again!!!

This is my first post as a newbie to asp.net.
I am in the process of creating a "news system", you can add, edit and delete news. The news items can be entered into the SQL database and you select a category where you want the news item to go into.
What I want is when someone comes to the "Edit" screen, they have a drop down list and what that does is allows you to select a category for you to edit news items from, so rather than at present having the "Edit" page display all the news items, I want people to be able to choose a category that they can edit news items in.
So far my edit page has a datagrid with the following code:

On my webform, i have one grid, 2 dropdownlist and one datepicker control.
When i select items from my both dropdown and date from datepicker control, i want to populate my grid based on above mention control selections.
Initially I display all the records in the gridview. Then based on the search I fetch certain records and display it.. When I try to edit any retrieved record, the control automatically tries to edit the first record instead of editing the selected record.. What should I change in the code to make it work?

I have a series of record IDs in an array that I pass to a DataGrid for Data Binding I want to show the details of each record ID in every row of the datagrid, for example I can put a detailsview in the itemtemplate of the datagrid and use an objectdatasource's select method for retrieving the information for a specific record ID but how to pass these record IDs to objectdatasource? is this a correct example and how can I implement this?

Where as the data table on which this grid is based contains one extra filed that is

I've got a gridview with three fields, the last of which is a template field with an imagebutton in.
The first field is a Date, and the second is a time field (it is however just varchar field as it may differ and will not be programmatically used).
I want the following to happen if I click on the imagebutton (reserve):
Four other fields must be inserted into the record.
Is the best way to launch a detailsview where the row.imagebutton@=ID and just edit the fields like that or should I pass the two fields (and RecordID) along with the query string to a new page where the passed information can be in invisble textbowes and just have the user enter (UPDATE) the four outstanding fields? I feel like doing it this way?

I have data grid with page size 15. I need to find total number of record(s) in a grid. How to do it?There is two ways to do:
1) Here I have used LINQ. So calling stored procedure again and we can done using .Count () property. But here I don't want make call to data base again.2) Creating our own logic like here I have done like:
(dtgCustomerSearch.PageCount - 1) * (dtgCustomerSearch.PageSize) + dtgCustomerSearch.Items.Count
The above result gives me correct result only when I am on last page.

I have a few parameters on page A. After the selection of those parameters, i should pass to the new page which should have a list of fleet items. There will be few columns and at the right most, i want a tickbox whether to select that item or not.
As a default, i want each checkbox be checked but if user wants to uncheck it, they should be able to do it.
