Forms Data Controls :: Treeview Not Displaying Images?

Mar 14, 2011

I've got a treeview inside an updatepanel. Currently I'm developing on a dev server through a remote connection, when I view the page from the dev server itself, it works. The expand/collapse images display fine. When I view the page from my machine's browser (same url, same browser) it doesn't display the images.

I've added custom images using the CollapseImageUrl/ExpandImageUrl properties, again it works from the server, but not from my machine. The actual rendered html differs. The page also contains some asp:Image controls which work fine in both browsers.

Forms Data Controls :: Efficient Way Of Displaying Many Images In Webform

Feb 15, 2011

I am trying to find an efficient way of displaying images (about 140x140px) in a webform. We cannot use paging, so we need to display all these images in the same webform.I noticed that facebook (and other sites) lets you display all your images in one page. For a profile qith about 1000 photos, facebook somehow downloads only enough so that the visitor can see images on the screen. Once you scroll, it seems to only download enough so that the visitor can again see something on screen. It works like a good text editor.... instead of displaying a huge file onscreen (like notepad does) and freezing, it only displays enough for the reader to see.

Forms Data Controls :: Displaying Images Retrieved From SQL Server In A GridView?

Mar 22, 2010

I'm trying to display images retreived from a sql server table in a GridView.

I found that the approach generally accepted was to have a handler that finally writes the image to the HttpContext.

My problem is that I only get a red X in the image column and not the images I want.

I'm using Northwind database, and I'm displaying data from the Employee table.

Forms Data Controls :: Displaying An Array Of Images And Data?

Nov 22, 2010

I'd like to make a page that displays information from my database, but in an atypical way. Each record from my data includes an image and some information about the image. I'd like to display an array of images, each with its associated data underneath the image. I'm imagining a table with four columns and in each cell there is an image and underneath the image is information about it (name, size, author).

You can get an idea of what i'm trying to achieve by looking at this webpage:

Forms Data Controls :: 2 Dropdown List / "Displaying A Dropdown List Of Categories With A --None -- Option?

I am stuck at this point "Displaying a dropdown list of Categories with a --None -- Option. I want the gridview control to display 2 dropdown list one in read-only mode and the other in edit mode. When i click on edit to edit or change category, it doesn't display the selected category.

C# - List View EmptyItemTemplate Not Displaying?

Jan 4, 2011

I'm binding a ListView to a collection of objects which is working fine. Unfortunately when the collection is empty then I'm not getting the text in the EmptyItemTemplate element displayed as I would expect.

Markup code is

[Code]....

When the collection returns a count of zero then the EmptyItemTemplate text doesn't display. I have viewed the page source and it isn't rendered at all (rather than being hidden). I have replaced the DataSource object just with null i.e.

lvListView.DataSource = null

Just to test it and it still doesn't work. No text rendered again.

I have had this problem on other pages I have worked on (and given up and done kludge work arounds) so it's obviously just something that I am missing - doing incorrectly.

Forms Data Controls :: Displaying Totals For Columns In A Grid View?

Jul 13, 2010

I have developed my application using ASP.NET with Visual Basic. I have a table that contains 3 fields. The name of the table is "Customer" and the names of the fields are "Name", "Address", and "Amount". I have a gridview that displays these three columns. I want to summarize the value in the "Amount" column for each record and display the summarize value in the footer of the "Amount" column.

I added some code to the "ItemTemplate" and "FooterTemplate" of the template for the "Amount" field and wrote two functions One function adds the value of the "Amount" field to a variable called "TotalAmount" and the second function 'gets' the value stored in the "TotalAmount" variable.

I am not getting any error messages and all of the items are displayed in the gridview but I am not displaying anything at the bottom of the "Amount" column. What more do I need to do?

This is my code for the "Amount" template:

<asp:TemplateField
HeaderText="Amount"
SortExpression="Amount">
<EditItemTemplate>
<asp:TextBox
ID="TextBox1"
runat="server"
Text='<%# Bind("Amount") %>'></asp:TextBox>
</EditItemTemplate>
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label
ID="Label1"
runat="server"
Text='<%# Bind("Amount", "{0:c}") %>'>
<%#SumAmount(Eval("Amount")) %></asp:Label>
</ItemTemplate>
<FooterTemplate>
<%#GetTotalAmount() %></FooterTemplate>
<FooterStyle
BorderColor="Black"
BorderStyle="Solid"
/>
</asp:TemplateField>
This is the code in my .vp file
Dim TotalAmount as decimal 0.0
Function SumAmount(ByVal Amount
As
Decimal)
As
Decimal
TotalAmount = TotalAmount + TotalAmount
End
Function
Function GetTotalAmount()
As
Decimal
Return TotalAmount
End
Function

Forms Data Controls :: Grid View DataFormatString Currency Displaying In $ When It Should Be £

Jun 11, 2010

I'm using:

[Code]....

to format the currency values and on my local machine everything works correctly displaying the currency in £ (pounds).

I moved my code onto the server that it will be run from and it's displaying in $ (dollars).

Our technical team that look after the server (Development aren't allowed access to the admin side of things) say that the server is set up for UK.

Where should they be looking to be able to set the server to display the data correctly?
