Forms Data Controls :: Displaying A Default Image In Gridview If Thumbnail Cannot Be Located
Nov 21, 2010
I have a gridview which displays thumbnails in the first column and details in the other columns. The thumbnail URL is being retrieved using the following:
[Code]....
However, if the thumbnail cannot be located, a white box with a cross appears instead (as expected).
To handle this better, I would like to display a different image if the thumbnail cannot be located for any reason, for example an image saying "Image Cannot Be Displayed". But I am unsure of how to do this, of even where to do this. Essentially I need to assess the value that the datagrid is using for the particular URL when it is databound. But can I put VB.NET code in this?
However, if there is not an image - e.g. if my property record doesn't have any images associated with it, I would like to display a default thumbnail.
I have a data list view on a site.. Everything so far is done with minimal coding so I hope to find a similar solution for this as well :) (if such exists, of course)
When I display images from database, i have a default image that is to be displayed if there is no image in the database...
so, the database is containing links, and in the listview I display those links through the image component...
how to display DEFAULT img when there is no link in the database?
I have a page which displays details and a pictures of employees. The details are stored in a SQL database and the images are on the server. How can I set a default Image to display (e.g. an Image saying "Awaiting Image") if an employee picture is missing?
I can't use NullImageUrl as the Images are not stored in the database. I can't use the solution found on [URL] as an ImageField does not accept an ID attribute.
I have to create a webpage that shows gallery of images in a folder. The folder contains different images and also versions of them (like a basic image of xxx1_v1 and then a modification of it as xxx1_v2 and so on...Also, there are xxx2, xxx3 ....). While displaying these images on the gallery, each thumbnail should show the higher version of the image. For example, if there are xxx1_v1, xxx1_v2 then xxx1_v2 must be on the gallery page. Further, when we click on the higher/later version of an image, it must be redirected to another page which shows the other versions of that image. Should i use AJAX / Jquery .
After saving image in db how can we retrieve it in gridview like thumbnail size image and by clicking on image in gridview its open as preview. How can we do this in asp.net using c#.
but it is not displaying anything, however aspx page is working fine, it is showing a field but no image and it is blank, same is the case with IMG1 column as well
I have a list of image names stored in a database, along with the id of the property they are associated with. I'd like to be able to display all of the images in a gridview and then allow the user to select the required image.
The problem I'm having is that the gridview is not displaying. I'm pretty sure it's something basic that I've missed, but can't for the life of me see what it is!
I have a ModalPopupExtender control inside accordin control, users can add images, that I sotre the path in database(sql server) and the actual image in physical address inside web server,I automatically resize the image to thumbnail size in C#, when users first connect to the site, the see the thubmnail version of the image, which is much faster to download, and by clicking the thubnail, the hidden asp:pnael is shown with imzge in full size, I use javascript to unhide the panel and also change the image source to actual image, everything works fine in IE, but in Firefox and Chrome, the first time user clicks on thumbnail can not see the full size image, only after couple of time, they see the full size image? what could be the problem?
I am using asp.net ,C# what is the best way to achieve this?

i am currently facing some problem retrieving image for display on a gridview control. the Image data type in the data table is "image". the data that is stored inside the database is in this format "<Binary data>". may i ask if it is possible tojust retrieve a image data of this format and display in the gridview? or do i need to store the image in a image folder for retrieval?
i have an image and an imagebutton, they are inside a listview and get their imageurl from databinding, i would like to know, if maybe the databinding value is empty, instead of showing a big red x, is there anyway to maybe make it link to a default image when the value is empty instead?
I can get the file(image) to display, but it displays at a size that is too large for my use. Basically, right now, I'm pointing the ImageField to the first field in the grid that contains the url of the image. I could require the user to create a smaller image of the file but that seems a little excessive. Is there any way to control the size of the column displaying the image? Here is the html, we are using LINQ to get the data that is displayed in the grid.
I have created a Folder and inside this folder, I have put a default.aspx and a default.cs file. I wonder how it is possible to find out what is the folders name as the default.cs is located in. This meens that I am looking for a code to determine what folder that is above in the hierarchy of folders?I cant use this code as this goes all the way back to the root:
I wonder how it is possible to retreive the Folder name in which the file default.cs is in. I do my coding in this default.cs file and will simply retreive the name of the folder that this file is in. If I remember correct Resolve URL could be used to do this in any way but dont really remember how to do this in C#?
I derive the list of images as follows have a drodown list which contains the possible filders. The user selects the folder and clicks a button to display the images. On the button click I get the contents of the folder using getfileinfo|(0 and add the details to a datatable. I create a field in the table that contains the path and the imagename (fieldname imagePath)
My database table contains the image file path which will be stored from a file upload control. The image path in the table will be like "C:ProjectsprojectnameprojectfolderFiles1_129308367798080000_images1.jpg"
I am trying to display that image through a datalist control as follows
I'm a complete novice to ASP.Net embarking on a charity work for a primary school in Africa to create a simple website. The website should have a webpage that users can upload pictures that is stored and displayed as thumbnails. Which can be click on to show the picture in its actual size.
I've used masterpages to create a consistent look across all pages. On the gallery page, I have a textbox and a button which are yet to be programmed.
