I have some data displayed in GridView and there are multiple (repeat) entires.
There are about 20 rows of the same data, but I only want to display 1 row.
I know can amend PageSize="1" but then it shows multiple pages which I also don't want.
The multiple rows - are all of the exact same data - but it should only appear once!
A user has multiple images which is stored in database(datatype varbinary ).I want to show all the images of that particular user in gridview.Can you people guide me how to achieve this?(Asp.net with c#)

I have three tables I'd like to make entries to when the user completes a wizrd i've setup on a web form.
The First Step - The user enters basic information about their "Case". The table looks like so:
db_Cases - CaseId PK auto int, CustomerId, etc fields
The Second Step - The user enters information about the "Debtors" that are related to this "Case". Think of this as being products....The only difference is these records wont be used over and over again like a product would. The user may need to enter data about several "Debtors", just like if you needed to show several different products on an invoice. For example the user may need to enter information about a husband and wife. This means two entries in the "Debtors" table. The table looks like so:
db_Debtors - DebtorId PK auto int, etc fields
The Third Step - Here's my problem. This step needs to make entries into a third table called "CaseDetails". Again, this is just like if you were creating an invoice with several different products on it, where you would want to get a subtotal of each product's cost. The table looks like so:
db_CaseDetails - CaseDeatailId PK auto int, CaseId int, DebtorId, int
* When this table is later viewed, It will reflect all "Debtors" attached to the specific "Case" being viewed.
The first two steps aren't a problem, I pretty well have that handled in the wizard. BUT How do I create the entries in the "CaseDetails" table when the user finishes?
My idea right now is..... Considering the "Debtors" will be re-used but only on rare occations, I'm thinking I should just add the "CaseId" that was created in step one, to the "Debtors" table at the same time the "Debtor" is created. So the table would look like so.
db_Debtors - DebtorId PK auto int, CaseId int, Name, Address, etc
I'm creating a shopping basket in ASP.NET using session variables to pass the data from a shopping.aspx page to basket.aspx, currently I have the pages passing the primary key of the product with a gridview on the basket.aspx used to display the data from the database.However this only works for one item at a time, how can I extended the session variable so multiple products can be added, as well as quantities etc?

Then once a user selects one of the enteries, he/she then enters a value for that selection in a textbox, then clicks enter or add....now upon doing this, I want to have a GridView that tabulates all the entries the user adds, and keep a total of all entries as the bottomline in the GridView. I can't seem to wrap my head around how to get it done.Does anyone know how I can get this done, or are there examples out there that my searches have missed cause I haven't really seen any examples I could look at. I would think this should be a common solution that is used all over
View 4 RepliesI have a bulk editable gridview. I want to find a way of keeping a running total up to 100 in each row when the user is entering values into the editable columns. I then want to save this data.
The running total column (Total) is a bound column and not editable by the user.

Suppose I have a product database table such as: ProductId, ProductTitle, Price.
From the view, I was thinking to code the HTML form as:

The solution I see so far is to test the Request.Form (or Formcollection) indexer/dictionary for existence for the dynamic input fields. E.g.

I have a listview that shows the user the details of the members who have sent friendship request. The table from which the data come has two fields namely, sender_id[id of the one who sends friendship request] and receiver_id[id of the one to whom the request is sent].
There will be two columns in the listview. The first would show the pic and the name of the user. The problem is that how am I going to show the pic and the name if the table from where the data come does not contain these info. I know that the sender_id can be used to fetch the pic and name of the sender, but how should it be done?
Earlier I would do something like <%#Eval("fieldName")%>. But in the above described scenario the field is not present in the current table but the other one.

I have an inventory page with a gridview that shows 1 item per record, each item starts with a checkbox in the gridview. Currently users can select multiple records and hit the order button and everything has worked well. Now I have multiple pages in my gridview, and if a user selects a few records from the first page, and then goes to the second page, all the records (checked checkboxes) disappear from the first page.

I create reports sometimes with a gridview and export the data to excel. Lets say I have like multiple gridviews and I wanted to export each gridview to excel under its own spreadsheet.
So gridview1, gridview2, gridview3 are exported to excel under $heet1, $heet2, $heet3.
I know how to export multiple gridviews to 1 excel sheet but I don't know how to export them separately under their own spreadsheet.

I have a gridview which enables editing. The editing sequence works fine. When the user clicks the edit button, I want ONLY the row to be edited to be shown, and all others to be hidden.

I have 2 tables named Months & Attendence; Their containing fields are-
#1. MonthsName, StartDate, EndDate (like- January-2011, 01-01-2011, 01-31-2011 ...and so on)
#2. EmpID, Date, Intime, OutTime (Holds a whole months of Data for all employees attendences)
Now I wish to show whole months of Attendence for a specific employee into a data gridview.
There should be shown each day of the month- loaded from a Dropdown.
I am trying to create a form that displays a dropdown and a password. The dropdown will act as the login for the password. If the password is correct the dropdown should be the variable for a gridview that should be visible? Can someone look at my code and see where I may be going wrong or any hints?

I have a folder in my CMS (ektron) which has 95 entries.The public site is only showing 50 rows. Is there something I need to do to the GridView control to show the other 45 entries?
View 2 Replieshow am I be able to validate multiple entries (textbox control). It seems that using custom validate is not possible because each validator has one control to validate. In my case, I have to determine if at least one entry was filled with data.
