I want if the header of a particular column contains a word "S", the header and row turns red. I used following code to make header red and it works fine. How to make it such that the rows also turn red if condition is met ? I cannot hardcode in columns since the Gridview is autogenerate colums as data structure keeps changing.
Protected Sub GridView1_DataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)Dim HeaderRow As GridViewRow = GridView1.HeaderRowFor Each c As TableCell In HeaderRow.CellsIf c.Text.EndsWith("S") Then c.BackColor = Drawing.Color.OrangeRed End If Next End Sub
I've programatically created a DataView item by adding columns and rows to a table in the class file. Then I add that to my webform using a GridView. I'd like to hide some of the columns so that the end user doesn't see them but still be able to access their values.
How do I do this programatically? The table.Columns.Count returns the actually number of columns. Somehow when it converts into a DataView, it is only returning 1 column.
I have a gridview that has certain values in it that I would like to change based on a condition. For example, if a value in the column is 'x', I would like to make that Value Bold and have text that says 'Not applicable'

formatting a gridview where I have some numbers that show up with the minus sign on top of the number.Ideally I'd like to set the negative numbers to be red if you know how to do that.I'd also just like more control over the width of the columns.some of my formatting code is below. The If - Endif stuff fails with a null reference exception, but the forecolor and backcolor and align code works

However when the user 'edits' the particular row the percentage sign % still shows up in the textbox. When the user tries to save/update their change I throw an error on the % sign.
Is there a way to show the % only when the row isn't in an editable state?
