Forms Data Controls :: LoginView Inside A Gridview Loses Hyperlink After Postback?

I have a gridview with columns 'Edit', 'Delete', 'View Results' and other details. The 'Edit' column opens a modal popup to edit the record. The 'View Result' column is in a login view and this column is only visible to users belonging to the group 'Manager' as below:

When the page is first loaded, the hyperlinks are displayed correctly. however, after editing a record and saving the changes, the 'View Results' column loses the hyperlink.
I tried creating a temp hyperlink column outside a loginview control and this seems to work correctly.

I have a page that has a gridview which contains a loginview that contains hyperlinks with different navigateurls based on the role a user is in. When then page first loads everything displays correctly. However, if there is more that one page of data and the users clicks on a subsequent page, the column with the hyperlinks is blank (the anchor tag gets written out but no href and text) all of the other columns display correctly. If you click the back to page 1 the hyperlink is blank. The only way to get the data to redisplay is to reload the page.
Is this a proper use of the loginview control?

I have a fairly simple form:

However, once the update is finished (and I call e.Cancel = true), the LoginView control does not databind its children... so they are all blank. The FormView's viewstate is still fine, as all the rest of the controls outside of the LoginView appear fine. I even handle the FormView_DataBound event and a Trace shows that the FormView is being databound on postback.
Why then is the LoginView not keeping its ViewState/being databound? Here's a sample code snippet showing the flow:

now, in code behind it is'nt allowing me to use lnklogo.navigateurl("...") property.
whereas it is allowing me to use lnkall.navigateurl("...").
i think this is because the lnklogo is inside gridviews tempalte field. what is the solution to this.
i cannot provide navigateurl in aspx page and have to provide it in code behind since i want to do a conditional loop on it.

I use master/content page and use this code (below) for validation, if I place the PasswordRecovery outside LoginView the validation is marked up correctly, but placed back inside the LoginView the PasswordRecovery compilation error is CS0103: The name 'PasswordRecovery1' does not exist in the current context.

In one of the web page say "Default1.aspx" I have a Gridview.I am using 2 DataKeyNames in Gridview. i.e., DataKeyNames="G_Name, Param_ID" Also, I have one Hyperlink inside Gridview, upon clicking, page navigates to other page say "Default2.aspx"

I have the following simple code:

So when i select "Yes" from the first drop down, the "hiddenDetail" label becomes visible and when i select "No" from q1 the "hiddenDetail" label becomes invisible.The problem is that because i am using AutoPostBack when you select "No" the "hiddenDetail" loses its children (i.e. the label inside it) which is obvious why but i am wondering, is there anyway i can make the "hiddenDetail" invisible (sort of like display:none in style) in VB without losing its children. where id is the datakeyname of the grid now i had a requirement to add another datakename as UserId. and i need to have DataBinder.Eval for UserId also.

I have a Gridview with edit and update feature enabled. It displays the data correctly but when I click on the Edit linkbutton(to edit the data), I get the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".
I tried debugging and found that the row which I click (say editindex is 1) loses its value. I could identify this while debugging the code, when the code flow moves to the rowdatabound event, the label (or for that matter any control in the rowdatabound event) shows a null value and eventually errors out.
I am unable to figure out as to why the control specified in the rowdatabound event loses its value when editing. Note: The lost valueow data is the one which I tried editing.
I am attaching the code which I have written for the rowdatabound event.

In my access datasource, I have set the selectcommand to what the user desires via a DDL. So the user chooses say, all names beginning with "B". But as soon as user clicks to page to the next page, the filter is gone. What is the way to preserve the filter. I have only merely rebound the gridview in the Pageindexchanging event which obviously is not doing the trick. Does this call for a session var to hold the users choice?

I have a GridView that has approximately 800 records. I have a search feature that finds a record and focuses to it. When I click Edit for that record, the Gridview flashes and goes back to the 1st row. If I search for the record again it is in edit mode. Is there some setting to keep focus where it is? I added the following code to try and keep focus, but it doesn't work.

I have a DataGridView with a ItemTeplate column, which has a HTML hyperlink (<a href....>) inside. When a user clicks on a link, a popup with a TextBox is showed to the user. Then the user can type a data. With this data, I must update the hyperlink's text in which the user clicked. All using javascript. The problem is that I don't know how to find the Hyperlink because there will be so many hyperlinks as rows in the DataGridView and they will have the same Id.
How can i find the hyperlink using javascript?

Currently struggling with a problem that I've encountered variations on in the past. At the moment a worthwhile solution escapes me, but it seems such an obvious issue that I can't help wondering whether or not there's a "best practice" approach I should adopt.Without code, here's the issues in a nutshell:
page has databound control (a repeater) which isn't populated until user inputs data and clicks a button.Repeater item template contains a buttonUser clicks button, page posts back. On load, the repeater is actually empty so event is never handled because the originating control no longer existsGo back to the beginning of wretched cycle I've confirmed that this is the problem because if you provide the repeater with some static data on page load, everything works fine. But of course that's no use because it has to be populated dynamically.Is there a commonly approved way round this headache? I can store the data in session and re-use it on page load, but it seems terribly clumsy.
