I have loaded data into gridview from datatable which is in database.
I need to select any row from gridview to fetch the selectedrow values and need to display in corresponding textboxes.
but selectedindexchanged event is not firing, do I need to do any extra settings?
I want to fecth select index from the data loaded from database table.( not from manullay adding data to datarow and assigning datarow to datable and fanally to gridview- this is not the case)

I am new to asp.net and was trying to use datagridview in my webform. I was able to bind it to my database but I cannot make the datagridview's buttonfield respond. It seems the grid's SelectedIndexChanged event is not being fired or has issues with postback. Even a very simple statement is not being executed by the program e.g.

It seems the SelectedIndexChanged is not being fired. I have checked my IE and scripting is enabled.
I am using VS 2008 and IE7. Can anyone share a solution on how to solve this issue?

I am facing one strange problem,I have a gridview in which the last two columns have checkboxes and on those checkboxes click event I am doing some database operations.I also have one checkbox that is outside the gridview which actually shows or hides some of the gidview columns.This was all working well but now I have shifted that grid to a user control because I have to use it in two pages.The problem now is,When the page first loads and I click the check box or any control in the page that is outside the grid then it works perfectly.But once I click any of the check box within grid view column then its behavior chages, now even if I click the checkbox that is outside the grid then also the checkbox_CheckedChanged event of the checkbox that is whithin gridview is fired.That checkbox event then behaves something like a page_load event that is called for every page load and for every event with in the page after it is called once.

I am using a dropdownlist in my application and it has corresponding SelectedIndexChanged() event.I would like to invoke GridViewEdit Event when SelectedIndexChanged event fires from dropdown list.Is it possible to implement this...??

The <ItemTemplate> loads properly, and the line:

loads the page correctly, BUT it does not fire the onClick event (OnClick="SetPage_N_of_All").

rowdatabound event is not firing during postback ,What to do?First time pageload I am getting result as expected. When I click checkbox ,which is in grid ,my values which are in other columns get disappeared, that means during postback. I have a gridview,sqldatasource and a link button for delete in the sample code below
When Delete is click the confirmation pops up. When I confirm yes, the rowdeleting event doesn't seem to be firing. I addeed a label to see if the event is firing. To avoid runtime errors I added a dummy but actual sql delete command. Once If I get it to work, I want call a stored procedure to delete the row.
My question is
1. Why is the gridview row deleting event not fired.

I have a very simple page that consisist of an UpdatePanel that contains a gridview. The gridview includes a delete button for each row, which should fire the Delete event. But the event never fires. If I set a breakpoint inside the event handler, it never gets hit and the row does not get deleted. When I say OK on the confirm dialog it just goes back to the page. I tried taking out the confirm button extender

I have an inner gridview called MyInnerGridView and I have operations I need to do in the Row_Updating event but this event is only firing for the last row of the outer gridview. I have pared down the sub to the following and the exception is only thrown when I try to edit an inner gridview record of the last record of the outer gridview.

I put it down for a few weeks to work on other things, but started working on it again because I need to get it to work.
Anyway, I figured if I wanted to put a button in a datalist all I had to do was:

all of a sudden my GridView has stopped firing the row update event. Friday I was working on it and was working flawlessly. Now I haven't made any changes to the code and all of a suddent has stopped working (yes rediculously bizarre and have been banging my head all day thinking what the something is wrong with it, excuse my french).
Everyone of those events fire except the update. I click the update button and nothing happens.

I am trying to create a custom GridView with a header toolbar at the top that will contain icons to export the grid view to different formats like excel, word, etc.. The problem is, I cannot get the method to fire that is assigned to handle the click event for the corresponding Image Button. The page posts back, but the code I have in the method to handle the click event does not fire. I have followed examples in other posts and from what I can tell I have followed what others have done. Can somebody take a look at see if they can find something that I am doing wrong.
