I have a grid with an link button template field i also added a drop down list template field, i would like to hide the link button text (select) and display my drop down list for only the current row, when the link button is selected and capture the selected row (int row = gvstaging.SelectedRow.RowIndex;)
When the dropdown list SelectedIndexChange event fires i would like to access the value of the selected item(
DropDownList ddl = (DropDownList) sender;string
s = ddl.SelectedValue;) and pass the selectedrowIndex and value to another function
I know how to get selected row index , selected value from the ddl but dont know how to hide one and display the other only for a row and pass both values to the next step

I have a detailsview which includes a drop down list bound to an array. However, when I click on the cancel button the dropdownlist values disappear. I have tried to solve the problem by rebinding the values back into list on the cancel command event, but this has made no difference. Does anyone know how to solve this?

I have a grid view with each row as a link button. When I click on the row, some data parsing process takes place (about a 15 sec process). The grid refreshes itself at a regular interval. I want to disable the link when it is clicked once, so that the user gets to know that row has been processed already and does not click it again, until the grid refreshes itself and the row disappears. I am copying my gridview code below. how to disable the link button on that row as soon as it is clicked.

I have a gridview. The fields are displayed in table in itemtemplate. Each row has a unique id called UserId.There is a linkbutton for Editing in each row.
When the Edit linkbutton is clicked, I need to get the details in that row to another page. Is this done using querystring.

Here is my page:

It basically is 4 questions with each answer assigned a value.
What I would like to do is when the button is clicked the selected values are retrieved and calculated to give a total.
That total is then compared against some common totals and the next value is shown.
So is the total is 8= Very Good, 6= Very Bad, 4= Terrible etc.
The two labels Result and Truth would sho the numerical result and the truth according to the scale.
I am at a loss on how to retrieve the list button clicked value, how to add them up and referance that to the Truth result.
its complicated (to me its "bang head against wall" difficult.

I have a listview which displays photos within a selected album. I am using two data list one at the bottom & another at the Top to display paging. On Page load, I need to access link button placed inside Data List. Actually I had got two Datalists. I can access one Datalist Link button like this:
LinkButton lnkPg=(LinkButton)dlPg.Items[0].FindControl("lnkbtnpaging");
lnkPg.Visible= false;
This is giving no error. But if I write same code for another datalist say dlPg1, it is giving error: Index was out of range. must be non-negative.

I have an XML file structured as follows:

What I want is two drop down lists, one linked to /Levels/Level and one to the SubLevels for the selected level. Currently, I have the main one bound as follows:

This works fine, but I can't work out how to link the Sub Levels to the second drop down list. Is this possible using data binding?

I have just got the login control working, and would like to grab the currently logged in username (I'm guessing via the loginname control), and then have the Drop Down list on the default.aspx select the matching name. The names don't exactly match so, I could hard code compare them via a select case or if statement, but the problem is I don't how to get the logged in username into a variable, and I don't know how to have the drop down list (which is databound) select the record.

I've a gridview and one of the coulmn in the gridview has a link which when clicked will open another window(new page). But now what is happening is, when i click on each row of that link column, it is opening series of new windows. IS there a way that i show a new window when the link is clicked and maintain that same window for all otheres rows in the grid? Here's code snippet of aspx page
