Forms Data Controls :: Display Nested Gridview In GridView1 But GridView2 Or GridView3 By Clicking On Column1 Or Column2
Dec 7, 2010
i have gridview in page and i want user see gridview2 to click on special data in column1 and user see gridview3 to click on special data in column2(gridview2 or gridview3 in everytime)
i use templateFiled for display gridview2 but when i want to display gridview3(with another templateField) , dont happen in gridview,
(I want to display nested gridview in GridView1 but GridView2 Or gridView3 by clicking on Column1 or column2)
Have the MultiView1 display only if Frieght values exceed 15.50. If check box is checked, retreive the row values of the Gridview1 and Gridview2 to perform a task. There will be two check boxes. One will be conditionally hidden. Each check box has a different function.
Example: Send an email notifying this entry has been flagged. I am using Visual Studio 2005 with ASP.NET 2 due to availability of resource. I have checked out numerous sites without finding the specific answer.
For example: [URL]
The following a simplified representative example of what I am trying to accoumplish. It uses the Northwind.mdb access database with just the Customers and Orders table.
I have a gridview1 with a Select column, which has a SqlDataSource that executes a Store Procedure.
I also have another gridview2, which also has its own SqlDataSource, but in this case, the Store Procedure has a parameter. This DataSource assigns as parameter the gridview1 control, and its PropertyName is SelectedValue. How can I load the gridview2 when gridview1 is clicked in the Select Column?
I have a dropdownlist (ddlList) in gridview1. I need to reference that ddlList as my ControlID for the parameter.
I tried to define gridview1.ddlList, but this did not work. Is there any way (non-codebehind) that I can use to reference a dropdownlist which resides in gridview1 from gridview2?
I have a default.aspx page which has two gridview controls i.e. Gridview1 [Displaying Order table] and Gridview2 [displaying OrderDetails table], when I am deleting a row in GridView1, GridView2 should also update its datasource because of referential integrity constraints.
Following is what I am trying to do in GridView2_Load event:
I have 2 Gridviews of the same structure and header. I want when user click hear of Gridview 1 for sorting, the same sorting applies to Gridview2 onclick.
I have a Gridview, lets call it GVDistinctDate which displays Distinct Date in one column only. For example: I got 5 rows, and 1 column where the column only display distinct dates such as 02/04/2010 | 03/04/2010 | 04/04/2010 | 05/04/2010 | 06/04/2010 where obviously this dates come from a table in the database.
Now i want to take those dates in GVDistinctDate and assign it to another gridview, lets call it GVReport, as column Header Text. For this GVReport, the first column would be StudentID where a list of studentid will be displayed, and then starting from the second column onwards, where the Header Text would be the dates from GVDistinctDate, will display a Status of absent or present according to the studentID and the corresponding date. How do it get the dates from GVDistinctDate into the column Header Text of GVReport?
AND how do it display the Present or Absent status based on the studentID in column 1 GVReport and the dates on the Header Text? Below are the codes of how i got the distinct date into GVDistinctDate
[Code]....
The code below is for GVReport and the comments are where i tried to put in the dates into the column header text.
[Code]....
There is a problem here: GVReport.Columns(k).HeaderText = headerText Error:Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index
I'm using a DataSet to fill my gridview. The dataset contains several columns, like: direction - fromNumber - toNumberThe column direction can contain the values "incoming" or "outgoing". In my gridview, I would like to show only 2 columns, direction and from/to. If direction = "incoming", the values from fromNumber has to be inserted in "from/to". If direction = "outgoing", the values from toNumber has to be inserted in "from/to".I know I can use a TemplateField to show different text values in a column...But I have no idea how to do this when I want to show the values from a column...
I have a button called Next outside the GridView. If I click on Next, I want to highlite the 2nd row and display the details of the 2nd row below in panel. If again I click on Nextm i want to highlite 3rd row and want to display 3rd row results in a panel
I'm trying to create a nested gridview, but I'm stuck at the editing/deleting part of the nested gridview. (Below is my code). The nested gridviews are filling out nice, I've set the DeleteParameter in the SQLDataSource, but I'm still getting this error when trying to delete a criteria: 'The Gridview 'gvCriteria' fired event RowDeleting which wasn't handled.'I've tried to create a method 'gvCriteria_RowDeleting', but that didn't seem to work out.Someone who can give me a piece of advice? Would it be possible to fill the gridview without using gvDomain_rowDataBound? Dries
I have a ReportViewer and GridView1 on my form I want my ReportView1 Display Gridview1 Selected Recored. I Click "Select" On Gridview1 then My ReportView1 Show The selected Report. I am using Visual web developer 2008 and vbcode
Is there a better, cleaner way to do this in ASP.NET 2.0?
An ASP.NET 2.0 page displays a datalist of records. Each record can have many dates, so the dates are in a nested gridview (I chose a gridview over a datalist here because we want to be able to delete a date and this is easier done in a gridview). The parent record can never be deleted.
The display works fine: the nested gridview gets its datasource during the parent datalist's OnItemDataBound event.
The problem: the nested gridview's delete function. The date gets deleted without a problem (handled in the OnRowDeleting event), but somehow the redisplay is untying all the other nested gridviews from their datasources. The delete does not appear to cause a page postback, so I don't know how the other nested gridviews are losing their datasources.
what changed do I need to make to my code for it to achieve what I'm after.
At the moment I am getting a "cannot cast to type" error message with the below code.
I have also tried calling the ItemDataBound method in with the parent repeater tags and had no errors but when I clicked on the button it would just move back to the top of the page and would not hide or show any data. Also I have made the div style to none but the first record still shows its child but the rest don't.
In Nested Grid, we get a '+' sign. The problem is that '+' sign appears all times, even if there are no child records for that row. 1. Can we enable/disable OR Hide/Unhide '+' sign. depending on if child rows exits.2. OR alteast we can put some bgcolor indicating to user that this record do have child rows. Without any indicator user may feel quite annoying to click on '+' sign and nothing happens.
I can't figure out what I"m doing wrong.. I followed this sample online at http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/091102-1.aspx to include a gridview in an email. But, it keeps throwing this error.. 'GridView' must be placed inside a form tag with runat=server.I've verified that the gridview is in a form, and there are no template fields in the gridview. Heres the gridview on my asp.net page..
Why am I getting this error? I'm trying to do a calculation on my GridView2 and I'm using clientside javascript. I need to add the onkeyup attribute. How do I do this?
Code Behind:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load CType(GridView2.FindControl("TextBox13"), TextBox).Attributes.Add("onkeyup", "calculateSubTotal") End Sub
I have a webpage with a select object and a GridView object. For testing my problem i've created asp button and html button. On pageLoad the GV is empty and select is being filled with names. (GV is not appearing)After choosing a name from the select options, the user should click a button and then the GV need to be filled with relevant info.I am having 2 "related" problems:
1. When clicking on the asp button and getting into the click function on the aspx.cs file, i can't find the select object and retrieve the selected option. How can i get this?
2. When clicking on the html button and getting into the button_click function on the aspx file (javascript), i can't find the GV object (getElementByID("GridView1") returns null). I guess that it's because the GV is not loaded initialy since it's empty.I've tried also using callback methods, but the although it seems like i am reaching the GV and performing DataBind(), the GV table won't show on the page.
I am using a nested listview to display a seperate grid for each group of data returned from my db query. To get this working, I have adapted a piece of code to group the data prior to it being bound:
[Code]....
I am then using the following html markup:
[Code]....
[Code]....
This works as I want it to however some of the fields within the nested table need to be formatted as currency so I am trying to use Eval and {0:c} to do this however the moment I use Eval, the data items cannot be found
DataBinding: 'System.Data.DataRow' does not contain a property with the name '0'.
I have designed a collapsible nested gridview project using this article as a reference Collapsible Nested GridView with Paging using ASP.Net. I am trying to modify the code to collapse a gridview when another gridview is expanded so that only one nested gridview will be open at a time.
In nested gridview, i am finding some problem, i want to show child Grid headers in Parent Gridview. Can anyone tell me that how it is possible? Its very urgent. Waiting for quick response.
