I have a child page LoginContent.aspx which contains a login form. If the user logs in he should be redirected to my Welcome.aspx page. But if I press the login button the page just reloads itself, nothing happens.
The codebehind on this page is empty. Both LoginContent.aspx and Welcome.aspx are child forms of the same master page.
I am working on an e-commerce project using ASP.Net and C#.Net (Visual Studio 2005-Windows XP).
I am facing problems in the login module. I created the login accounts using the roles and users in the ASP.Net Website Administration Tool. The login module is working fine when I test the website within the Visual Studio. I mean the login form is working properly under the Development Server integrated in the Visual Studio. What I want is to make this work properly under IIS (i.e. the Production Server). When I deployed the project to the IIS, the login form with the login control is displayed, but cannot login and gives a login failed message. . I have searched about this issue in Google and they are providing good tutorial links to solve this issue. Even after reading those I couldn't solve this as I am new to Web Development. Can you provide me a sample source code with the web.config and also a description of the major steps in configuring IIS to support the role based login?
I had gone through the following titles under google
"Always set the "applicationName" property when configuring ASP.NET 2.0 Membership and other Providers".
I'm starting a new web site which involves a Novell/LDAP login to enter. Just installed VS2008, using framework 2.0, configured web.config to use authentication using form login.aspx which is the LDAP form we reuse from app to app. Debug is enabled, in form and in VS options. I'm running with localhost web server. Problem is debug doesn't work in the login form, does not stop at breakpoints I put in page_load event. Tried to bypass the login form to make sure, turns out debug will work on some startup form I made but does not when I redirect to login form. It seems VS2008 does not like something in my login form.
For some reason I can't get an ajax post action to work if the text inside an textarea contains HTML. In the text area I am entering <h1>test</h1>, when I do that, I can click on the Save button all day if I want, nothing happens. Not sure whats causing this, but it also appears to do it if I don't use the ajax form and just a standard html form.
Here is the code for the controller:
Here is the code for AjaxForm:
And here is how I am putting the control on the form:
A Login.aspx has been created to enforce security on several forms of a web site.How can it be best called by each form at page load and return to that form after succesful login? How could that requirement be declared in web.config?
i have created loing form and create user form. then how to apply login rights..? i have 2 types of user. admin and normal user admin can move and use all pages while normal user can acces limited pages.
I'm new to ASP.NET. I have a custom login form on my web with login and password fields and OK button. I use my own MembershipProvider to authenticate user. The login control form is in the upper right corner of page and if user is successfully authenticated, I need to display his name and html link "Logout", instead of it.
How can I get programatically user status and use it in condition for displaying login form/login status?
I have a login control that is working beautifully on my localhost, but not working on the server. It validates my username & password - and gives me an error if I enter an invalid username/password. However, if I enter the correct username/password, the page refreshes, but does not redirect me to the "ReturnUrl" that I see in the URL. I've seen posts on this, but nothing that I tried worked. I've tried setting the 'MembershipProvider'attribute of the login control. I don't want to set the DestinationUrl...I want it to take what is in the ReturnUrl in the querystring. I don't think it's a web.config issue cuz it works on localhost??
I've set up a system with forms based authentication and using the asp:Login control. When I put in an invalid password I get the approriate invalid password message. However when I put in a valid password, it does nothing...just returns to the login page again. I'm triple checked the login info. There is no error message, and the invalid attempts counter doesn't increment. When I put a break point in the Login_LoggedIn event of the Login form, it hits it, but User.Identity.IsAuthenticated is false. I'm not 100% sure it should be true at this point, as I'm pretty new to .NET but it seems kind of odd.
My user database is stored in a sqlserver 2005 db that already existed. I've added a new connection for it.In the authorization I have
there is one dynamic page, that, from a database, based on a lot of gathered information (user id, account #, etc), actually 'spits' out an html form, with an action which goes to a website and sends a bunch of hidden information from our site.y situation is this - I am building a master page for the site, which will include the form tag for the content pagesdon't see how this will work, without rewriting what comes from the database - - -
I have a comment form inside the blog posts. in the form, if the user is authenticated, I will assign the values of the user into textboxes. that part is as follows;
But when I add HTML.TextBox instead of HTML.TextBoxFor, I am not getting validation if the user erase the fileds. Also, this form is inside the indext page and it is related to another action as follows;

I'm trying to make a login Form for my Databse so I can restrict access to the Database. However I constantly get an Invalid Username error when I try to log in. I have copied the Login template from VS 2010 and editted so it should use my own models.
I would like to somme one send me a script or site, that i can download a sample from a login with a database, where the users verifiy the pass and user name on the database, and if in it they could login.
we host a database for several users. We allow the users to host the login form on their own server. The form calls an ASP page that we host, which executes a stored procedure to authenticate the user.
We are in the process of moving to ASP.net. The "Forms" authentication method appears to only work if the login page is hosted locally. Is there a way to use Forms Authentication & allow the login form itself to be on a different server. I'm looking for a tutorial somewhere that will get me pointed in the right direction
