I am new to asp.net mvc. I am trying to create a form which has about 5 input file controls, when a user clicks on Browse button and selects a file, I would like to send the filepath and the button id to server through javascript/jquery and verify whether the path of the file is correct if so change the color of a checkbox on the form. I would like to do this without form submission as I have multiple files all I want to do just verify the path and not really upload the path.

Web Forms :: Folder To Store WebControl, Without Actually Creating That Folder On Website

Dec 16, 2010

I want to create a folder to store some web controls, so the site structure doesn't have a zillion files in the root.

Except that if I create an ordinary folder, that folder is also visible on the web site. MSDN said you cannot put it in App_Code, and it doesn't really make sense to put it in other special folder like App_Data or App_Theme.

VS 2010 - User Will Browse A Text File And Upload It To Created Folder

Dec 19, 2011

Im with ASP.net using VB.net. What was supposed to happen is that upon page load, the system will automatically create a folder in C:. After that, the user will browse a text file and upload it to the created folder. But what happens is that both the folder and the text file is being uploaded inside C: where it should be the folder only and then the text file should be inside the folder. Here's my code.

Code:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Directory.CreateDirectory("C:TEXTFILEFOLDER")
End Sub
Private Sub DeleteFile(ByVal strFileName As String)

[code]....

In Which Folder Can Store User Uploaded Images

Feb 10, 2011

I've a classified ads system on ASP.NET/c#/MS SQL, and I'm trying to figure out where to store the images that people upload when placing an ad. The ad itself is being stored in a SQL server database.

The images are now being stored in a subfolder of my webapp. It seems to work fine, however I only recently discovered a big problem. Everytime a user deletes an ad, the attached images are to be deleted as well including the folder they reside in. This leads to a restart of the asp.net application. I searched internet and found that restarting the web-app is actually intended behaviour when a subfolder is being deleted.

I can remove these images including the folders they are stored in?

I can acces them using a URL (the images need to be shown in the webpages) Without getting the web-app being restarted?
