How To Get Posted File From Upload File Or Html In Put File
Feb 2, 2011
my project is in c sharp and must upload pictures to MySql DataBasethe uploadfile controle is included in asp form that i made but the problem is that the uploadfile always get the Postedfile = null i tried to use html input file but the same problem still
@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPageB.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="test.aspx.cs" Inherits="Add_Pictures" Title="Untitled Page" %>
<%@ MasterType TypeName="MasterPageB" %>
<%@ Register assembly="MyFormView" namespace="MyFormView" tagprefix="asp" %>
[code]...
In my website I have used the html input control with type=file.
The problem is that when I place this control inside an 'UpdatePanel' the 'PostedFile' property becomes 'Nothing' on postback. So in order to get things working I have removed the 'UpdatePanel' and things are working fine.
However, I am interested to know what kind of workaround is required if I were to use an 'UpdatePanel'? In one of the threads here I found that we need to set a 'PostBackHandler' for the update panel. I have no idea how to implement this. Does it refer to 'AsyncPostbackTrigger' or 'SyncPostBackTrigger'?
I am using the async file upload control to upload to a image file. I want the user to upload only jpg files. And for that I am checking the uploadedfile content type in server side, after the upload complets. I wanna check this, before upload starts. There is one javascript method
function startUpload(sender, args){}
but how to access the content type of the file selected by user.
I have an ASP.NET file upload control which sits as part of a form. The file upload control is on the content page while the form definition is on a master page across the site. I've added multipart/form-enc to the form on the master page.I'm using jQuery to submit the form as I show a dialog box from jQuery UI.When I post, no file is returned to the server. The file upload control has no file and HttpFileCollection is empty.
and in code behind I am trying to get this file. Its not letting me to get the file until I use server side input file control. I don't want to use runat="server" attribute with my file control.
I have an asp.net panel having various controls including gridview. I have converted this panel into pdf and attached it as an email attachment using memory stream. Everything is working fine. Now I have an File upload control outside panel through which I have to attach a file and send it in mail along with the already attached panel. But I am unable to figure out how to do it.
I want to upload files to the web servers from the client machines.
Can i upload a file on a network share folder using file upload control?
I would like to create a share folder on a file server sitting next to the web server. If i upload the file from the network share folder instead of uploading it from the client machine does it make any difference?
Will the file be stored in a temporary location before copying to the final destination? Where will be the file stored in this case of uploading it from share folder?

I want to access one image file residing in C: of the client's machine. I know with the help of file upload control (or say input type=file), this would be easy. Due to nature of my application (Its a KIOSK application), user is not expected to select file. I am just wondering how should I implement reading file without using file upload control. I want to store this file in Images folder of server. I am beginner to WCF. Should I look towards WCF?

I'm trying to use below simple code for ajax postback. With file upload, neither javascript the "function startRequest" ever triggers, the file control shows null value somemore.Earlier I had Update progress which didn't work with file upload ever so I removed it. Now I just want to disable the button as the file is uploaded and its inputs are processed in the background. Once the response comes back, the "submit" button is re-enabled.But the file-upload with Updatepanel doesn't work at all. What am I doing wrong,

Is there a way to add a file upload progress bar to the existing .net file uploader? I have an uploader on my site that has all kinds of things tied to it that I can't change to use an AJAX uploader. Or as far as I know I can't. So I was wondering if anyone knew how to add the progress bar to the asp.net uploader.
