I use asp.net, C#, Sql Server 2008 express.How can after clicking on save button, create table with unique name, 2 colums int and varchar(40) types, and insert data?
I think it is possible by rendering table to XML, and then work this xml on C# classes, then save in database.

I have a web page with a GridView and a table outside the gridview to display more information of the record when it is selected (like record details). I'm using data of five tables for this particularly window. I use one table of the five to bind the gridview the other tables are for the details, but I use like 1 or 2 fields of those tables. I'm binding the page with web services. I need some advice on which is the better way for doing this to make a faster web page.
In sql server I made a view with the five tables (all the tables relations are working perfectly). In the web service I call the view; and in the web page I call the web service to bind the page. Everything is working. All I want to do is retrieve from the server all the necessary data only once when the page loads and bind the five tables data (like 18 fields total) in the gridview which I only show 12 fields the other 6 fields are hidden, those 6 are for the details which I get with jQuery (that's another topic). Bind everything only once and manage the data on client side. Everything is working perfectly. Here is my doubt.
How are the maximum table joins I can make? To retrieve the data via web and not get a server time out error. Which is a better way to make a faster page? Make 2 views one for the gridview and one for the details and put each view in a web service; or make one view with all the table joins and one web service. Right now all is working but I have to make other pages that use different tables and joins and I don't know if the server gets me the time out error when the page is fully working.
I have two tables for storing language translations - tblEN and tblES. They have the same structure which is nvcEnglish and nvcLocal - both nVarChar fields.
In nvcLocal of the Spanish table, I enter the Spanish translations of words and phrases used within my app. Problem is, when I add a bunch of new records to the English table I also have to go in and repeat the data entry into the Spanish table. I am wondering if there is a way to import the newly added records into the Spanish table using Transact SQL?The plain language query would be something like:
If the data in tblEN.nvcEnglish does not exist in tblES.nvcEnglish then insert a new row into tblES with the values from tblEN
i've created one package using ssis ..
That is used for transferring the data from the tableA to tableB daily at evening..
now my problem is ..
i've huge amount of data i.e upto 2GB of data while transferring for first time
the whole amount data is transferred.. and now i want to transfer only the daily updates
i.e what data i've entered today that much only it should transfer instead of whole data (2GB)..

View 5 RepliesI am using ASP.Net 4.0/Visual Studio 2010. However, I think it would be the same if it was ASP.Net/VB.Net 3.5. I am inserting three form filed values into a database table. I have placed a LoginName Control on the page and the login name is properly displaying. I am using forms Authentication and it is set up properly in the web config file. I simply want to insert the logged in username value into the database table so I can track who created the records. I am happy to be able to insert the UnserName or the UserID value. I assume both of the values are derived out of the aspnet_Users table. Being able to insert either one would be fine but I believe UserID would be better because it will always be unique.
View 8 RepliesI created a aesthetic control that creates two lists in seperate div tags organized with a table for each. The control always the user to click on the img tag associated with each item to move it between the two lists. I am doing all the movement between the lists via javascript and want to have a good method for obtaining the values and storing them in two lists upon Postback. I thought of doing something like storing the indexes/classes in hidden values and them reading them to find the items but that seems messy. Also, thought there might be a clever way of traversing the DOM via FindControl() but not sure. Any input would be great.
One other thing is that this is not a composite control. All the tags are being rendered in the RenderContents() method. So I don't know if there is a way to even tack on a runat="server" attribute to an elem like I normally would if I wanted code behind access to an html element.
Here is the HTML that is generated. I don't think there is need to post the server side code since it does nothing more than generate the html at this point.

I have a problem to save data into SQL table.
I have two listbox controls, one contains the Author list and another contains the author of the particular record.There are two buttons to copy data from one list box to another listbox.

When click the arrow button it adds the author from authorlist to selectedAuthors listbox and vice versa but the problem is, How can I save those authors(newly added for that record) in database columns ?
