I downloaded the Beta Version for .Net 4 and Visual Web Developer 2010. Now I want to delete them and get the New versions. It will not delete. Visual Web Developer will not install without the .Net 4 Framework.

While attempting to download Visual Web Developer 2010 Express I received an error message stating that I needed to uninstall the Beta 2 issue. However I have not been able to uninstall it.
When I try to install the ASP.NET MVC 3 Beta on my server using WebPI, it wants to install Visual Web Developer Express 2010 and SQL Server 2008 Express R2 as prerequisites.I don't want either of those installed on my server. However, when I try to run the
standalone installer, I get the error "Microsoft ASP.NET MVC 3 does not apply", presumably because I don't have the prerequisites.Why is an IDE required to run ASP.NET MVC3? Are there manual or alternate ways to install the runtime only?
My laptop is running Windows Vista. I recently upgraded it to Windows Vista SP2 and I am trying to install .Net Framework 3.5 on my laptop and whenever I try to install .Net Framework 3.5 I get the following error (error code - 1603):-

i have vs 2k8 and vs 2010 beta 2 running side by side on a machine. i went to install mvc rc 2 today, and it errored saying the mvc was already installed.i went and looked at the release notes, and lo and behold, it says you can't install it if 2010 is installed.
I'm new to ASP and was hoping to get some hands-on experience of web development, but have been having trouble getting started.
I followed the instructions in the [URL] setup video, and downloaded and ran the plaform installer. I noticed that the "Web Platform" section of the installer was didn't have the "Web Server" section at the top, as shown on the instruction video [URL] but it otherwise seemed to install ok.
When I tried to follow the tutorial videos on [URL] using MS Visual Web Developer 2010, I am unable to debug the application. The web page it loads just says: "The webpage "localhost:xxxxx" cannot be found" (where xxxxx is the five digit random port number).
I've tried uninstalling Visual Web Developer, and the various Microsoft .NET and SQL Server using the Vista uninstall functionality of the control panel (as bet as I could -I'm not sure if there was something I missed), and then re-installing, but I still get the same problem.
I've tried to find a solution on some developer forums, and I noticed there are posts relating to webdev.webserver.exe relating to the error message I've been getting. However I haven't been able to find any info on this for VS 2010.
I've checked, and I don't have webdev.webserver.exe in C:Program FilesCommon Filesmicrosoft sharedDevServer or in C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkV2.0.50727, although I do have WebDev.WebServer20 and WebDev.WebServer40. inC:Program FilesCommon Filesmicrosoft sharedDevServer 10 (I'm not sure if one of these is the equivalent files for VS2010.)
I've also made Internet Explorer my default web browser, since some of the forum posts mention this. My firewall is on, but I don't get any error messages relating to the firewall when I run the app. However, I wasn't sure whether there was a particular program I should add to my "allowed" list before running.

I am working on Windows XP SP3 with VS 2008 Team System SP1. I installed VS 2010 Professional Beta 2. Although the installation reported a success, it also reported a failure of installation of Silverlight. I created a console applicaiton test project in 2010 and just tried to write Console.Writeline. But when I try to type "Console." it did not show me the intellisense. When I press "Ctrl+SpaceBar" it displays me the options correctly. Is there an issue with the installation or i have to change some options to enable intellisense.
I already have SQL Server (Developer Edition) installed on my computer. I'm learning ASP.NET by going through some video tutorials. These tutorials use VWD 2008 Express so I'm going to install that version (instead of 2010). Will the VWD installation recognize my existing version of SQL Server and connect to it properly after the install? I read something about VWD Express not working correctly with SQL Server Developer Edition.
I tried to install Visual Studio Prof 2010 trail version in my system, but i got an error saying 'Please remove/uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' to proceed installation. i uninstalled my previous VS2008 software from system and i could not find anything like 'Remove/Uninstall Visual Studio 2010 load test controller' software in my Add/Remove Programs.
I tried several times to install .NET Framework 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008 on my machine. I am getting an error during installation Set Up.exe has stopped working and the installation fails. I am using windows vista. Is there any way to solve it and install Visual Studio 2008. I was running Visual Studio 2005 before and I unintalled it completely.
I'm in the process of rebuilding a computer and have upgraded to Windows 7. I went to download VWD 2008 and find I can only get 2010. Will this be compatable with sql Server 2005 developer???
I have two questions, could anybody please answer to those:1) Do I need to install Dotnet framework 2.0 if dotnet framework 3.5 is already installed on the same server?2) Also do I need to install "ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0" if higher version is installed on the same server?
We are trying to install VWD 2010 on a windows 2008 server. We already have installed the 2008 version as well as SQL 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2. The Web Platform installer is not installing VWD 2010 however.At first it notified us that the OS does not allow it, after running tons of updates on the OS (some of which failed) it is still not doing it, not even donwloading it. The latest message simply asked us to post the error on the forum

I installed VS 2005 on my machine few months back and I worked with it. And now(its been 4 or 5 months I opened it last time) I saw that all the file options are missing and I'm unable to select any options( file->open ->website or web application) to open. so I uninstalled the VS 2005 from my machine and now tring to reinstall it. I am trying to get a asp.net 4.0 beta 2. website running that is working on my dev machine, but not when I published to my server. Where I get the HTTP 500.22 error when using the 4.0 as application pool and "Integrated" in "Managed Pipeline Mode".
