I have Visual studio 2008 with Win 7 Ultimate, i want to update My .net frameWork 3.5 to 3.5 sp1.
I download .net frame Work but the setup can't run it disapperars after some seconds.....
I need to update .net frame work 3.5 to .net frame work 3.5 sp1 for the new features of 3.5 sp1 like Entity Frame Work.
Have anybody experienced problems in running Visual Studio 2008 in Windows 7 (64 bit)? Please post your feedbacks o0n using the Visual Studio on Windows 7(64 bit).

i finally got vwd to work as an admin(windows 7) but now i get the error screen below:
Where can i find these, i went to add/remove programs, windows features, and there is only one box checked for ii6, no other options, no "Windows Authentication". Can I get these items somewhere else? I didn't see them on iis web site either.

I've encountered a problem while installing Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7, I've tried to modify the privileges of the destination folders to no avail, I've also tried to delete everything related to it with a removal tool. The problem is that the installation is always unsuccessful at the same point, providing me a Blue Screen of Death (twice) and the following error message (infinite amount of occasions):

View 3 RepliesI just downloaded and installled the Microsoft Windows Azure SDK yesterday for the first time and I am having issues running the application as I all I am getting is 503 errors. I run Windows Server 2008 R2 on my development machine and even tested it on another co-workers 2008 R2 and couldn't even compile the application. He got this error instead "A problem occurred while trying to set the "References" parameter for the IDE's in-process compiler. Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component."
From within my Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V Virtual Windows 7 x86 enviroment, I was able to successfully build and run the Windows Azure SDK and it even showed the base ASP.NET application.So my question is, does the Windows Azure SDK for Visual Studio 2010 w/ Visual Studio 2010 SP 1 installed not work under Microsoft Server 2008 R2?
I'm using a "frame" layout similar to the one in this excellent answer: a div #top at the top of the page, a div#left on the left, and a div #main with the main content. The #top and #left divs contain navigation menus.Now I want to use a popup div using the AjaxControlToolkit ModalPopupExtender inside the content (#main) div.This works fine on IE8 (where #top, #left, #main all have position:fixed), but when I run it on IE6, the modal background only covers the #main div - I need it to cover the whole of the page including the #top and #left navigation divs.

Now with this user (xxxx) name I installed .net Windows Application. It was working fine. For some reasons I renamed the original windows Login user(xxxx) to different say (yyyy). Now this .net Windows Application is not working with (yyyy) and even it is not allowing me to uninstall it.

I am using ASP.Net 4.0 and MVC 2.0 for an web application. As my project requiremrnt I have to use the server side control in my application which is not possibl in noraml case. Ideally I want to use AdRotator control and DataList control.I saw few samples and references in CodePleax MVC ControlLib howwver I found it is very less useful. Can someone tell how to utilize theese controls in ASP.Net application along with MVC. Note: Please provide functionalities related to the AdRotator and DataList controls not the equivalent functionalities
View 2 RepliesWe have an aplication which works fine withing ASP 2.0 .NET Framework 3.5. Its a response. redirect call from inside ajax update panel, and it can not be outside. After updating to Framework 4.0 it no longer funchtions and returns "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed." without redirecting.
Server.trasfer gves the same error as well as and does not work
I have a gridview with entity frame work datasource. When editing or deleting I get Store update, insert or delete statement affected an unexpected number of rows(0). I selected * from the datasource. I made a template field to show the posts. There is a PostId in the framework. I am guessing that the PostID is not bound to the gridview the problem and the fix?

I have this situation where I have three pages:
The first page, default.htm, is a frameset page that uses the other two pages.
The second page, casemenu.aspx, is a form that contains an object we call "PopupManager": It has an element <xxx:PopupManager runat="server"/>. This object is dependent on the standard ScriptManager, which requires a form.
The third page, header.aspx, contains three links. Each link calls a JScript function that in turn calls a function on the Popup Manager. It makes the call to the popup manager with an expression like 'top.frames.casemenu._PopupManager'.
Now, the problem I have is that I have to change default.htm to be a normal page containing an iframe, which will refer to a new page, container.aspx, which has the original frameset. When I do that, I can no longer access the PopupManager the same way ('top.frames.casemenu._PopupManager' no longer works.)
I would like some way to refer to the PopupManager relative to header.aspx, something like "self.parent.frames.casemenu._PopupManager", but that doesn't work.
Ive recently got a new development machine with windows 7 64 bit. On loading up a website and opening default.aspx, the whole ide just freezes. Nothing responds, I have to shut it down from the task manager. This happens every time (ive tried it 4 times so far)The site was fine on my old machine (windows xp 32 bit) are there any compatibility issues with windows 7 64 bit and vs 2008 ?

here in vista I have done same thing -> installed iis after asp.net
Executed above command but it is not recognized command so I searched google and got command -> aspnet_regiis.exe -i -enable
here I got message of Installing ASP.net but then got error message.

View 4 RepliesI am trying to run a website on iis7, it was working fine untill i tryed to install isapi rewrit on iis7. when i go to localhost i get the 404 message and when i type localhost/Default.aspx i get the default page but the css is not applyed to the page. i tryed to uninstall /install iis but the settings remain the same. how can i install iis with default settings.

But the installer doesn't work properly on Windows XP. The MVC 3 templates doesn't appear after install.
