I had developed mobile web page in asp.net 2.0. This page is displaying with small font in safari on ipod touch and in iphone. for this i had copied iphone.browser definition file in
folder and run the command aspnet_regbrowsers.exe -i in command prompt. Then 2 files with ASP.BrowserCapsFactory.dll and BrowserCapsFactory.cs are created. But there is no result.
Just upgraded from SSRS 2005 to 2008 (on a test server). I have a report with a list and in this list are about a dozen fields in textboxes whose fonts are all set to Verdana 8pt. When I run the report from the Report Manager, one of the 12 fields is displaying in a serif font (like Times New Roman) at around 12pt. When I preview the report in Visual Studio every field looks fine and when I run the same report in SSRS 2005 every field looks fine. Has to be a SSRS 2008 bug!
point me to information regarding getting font metrics from a true type font in C#? I need to split some text from an RSS feed for a given box height and width.
I've checked System.Drawing.Font and GetHeight is there but how do I get the width of a character?
I understand each character is rendered as a glyph but not sure which class will get the width of the character?
I am using a css stylesheet in one of my web pages. The styles work perfect for Mozilla and IE 7 and below. However theres a problem with it in IE8 and safari.
The width of class in the css is 700px. I have used a contentplaceholder in the master page from where this web page inherits. Now in IE8 it displays a little less than 700px. I think it displays a width of 600px. How can I solve this problem? Is there a tool for IE 8 similar to Firebug?
EDITED: I have figured exactly where the problem is by debugging the page source and the css. I dont know how I can change the width and alignment for ONLY IE8
I have fixed it for IE8 but having issues with Mac Safari. Anyway to target ONLY safari?
I am trying to create a form that has a calendar control, dropdownbox, button and Gridview. I want to print the gridview that I populate after I populate the grdiview.
I searched the web and found some examples using ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript. I was able to get it working in IE but when I tested my code in Safari, the PrintManager did not pop up.
Then I replaced the Gridview with a a ReportViewer and Designed a report using the ReportWizard. It worked find in IE but again when I tested in Safari I discovered that the RepportViewer's print icon will not appear in Safari.
My question: If you had to print from a simple webform -- say just the gridview -- how would you go about doing it.
Does anybody have experience using ModalPopup extender in iPhone/Safari? I added a ModalPopup and when I click on the button it does not run my server side code. I am sure that I did everything correctly and the same code works just fine in IE and Chrome. Here is a chunk of the code:
[Code]....
andProtected Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click
I am using .Net 1.1 for development of a web site. I have buttons for next and Back navigation in my user control. I have added this user control to my .aspx page. The navigation works fine in IE and FireFox, but the event does not get called for Safari and Google Chrome browsers.
The text on my website is skewed and different areas are running together when viewing my site on a Mac using either Firefox or Safari. Is there anything I can do about this?
I have a website 1 developed in .NET. It supports IE browser only. I have another website which runs in Safari browser. Now we have to re-direct to this Website 2 from website 1. WebSite 2 has to open in Safari only. Can i open a different browser from .NET code. JScript Window.Open() would open in default browser. How can i mimic 'open with' option?
I'm unable to force a page to always expire in Safari. Chrome, IE and Firefox are good citizens but Safari is cruising along just fine with ignoring the following ASP.NET code:
i have a radeditor in my webform and it posts back. if i type any thing in the editor and press enter key for new line and then use any control in the page which reloads the page, then the next line character in the editor gets replaced by $0 and other text remains same as earlier. it happens in SAFARI.
Ex. aasdads dsdsds the above text replaced by: aasdads$0dsdsds$0
I'm having problems with FileResult returning a file with a specific filename. In the database the filename is just and ID + extension (e.g: 456789.mp3)
Work well in every browser except Webkit browsers (Chrome, Safari). Chrome and Safari receive files as original filename (456789.mp3). When I add headers with
Safari receives the file as myfile.mp3attach (notice "attach" appended to the extension?), however Chrome receives this file as myfile.mp3,attach (it appends ",attach" to the extension)
I have a problem with a script for a image gallery. The problem seems to only occur on Safari and Chrome, but if I refresh the page I get it to work correctly - weird!
Correct function:The gallery has a top bar, which if you hover over it, it will display a caption. Below sits the main image. At the bottom there is another bar that is a reversal of the top bar. When you hover over it, it will display thumbnails of the gallery.
The problem:In Safari and Chrome, the thumbnail holder will not display. In fact, it doesn't even show it as an active item (or a rollover). But oddly enough, if you manually refresh the page it begins to work correctly for the rest of the time you view the page. Once you have left the page and return the same error occurs again and you have to go through the same process.
