Removing Unusable Space In Top Of Multiview And View Control?
Jul 10, 2010
If you use the multiview and view controls you'll notice that there's about 1/4 of an inch of unusable space at the top of the view.Is there any way I can eliminate that space?
I am trying to achieve freezing the first column not to be scrollable horizontally and i am able to achieve but having two gridview inside a table with two td's. The problem what i ma facing is i am getting some space between two td's. attached the image for reference and below is the my code.
Is that any multiview alternative? I am doing a project that have to load the data in to a content space. Right now I am using the multiview provide by asp + using ajax.net. but it seem like very heavy when I load that page. So is that have any alternative to doing this? I have a concept that like using the load php funtion calling~is that applyable in asp.net? I am new in coding~ the effect I want to do is just like the user profile page on [URL] by clicking the button list change it content without reload the whole page.
I have 2 pages page1 and page2, page1 has a button and page2 has a multiview with many viewswhat I need is:when I click on the button in page1 I want to go to a specific view in page2 ex: view3
I have a MultiView inside an updatePanelThis MultiView has 7 Viewin each view I have Two button (next, prev) I have two fileupload in view6 and two button (btn_nextSix and btn_prevFive)I put this code in updatepanel
And found after click on btn_nextSix, fup_pic.hasfile is true but by clicking in last button (btn_reg) I found fup_pic.hasfile is false so I changed my code like this (I putted all buttons in multiview in triggers)...
I have a Datalist Which is Bind with Database..Datalist Displays Image And their Image Name.. Now i Want Details of Selected Image from Database in Next View (View 2).
Also Want to know which control should i use for click event on Image??ImageButton or <a Href="">?My Code is --
I have a page with several asp labels with no text. I use a click event to add text the fields that have related values from a datareader. In my code I state that if column value of the datareader is null, then make the label visibility false.
[code]....
That all works fine, but then when I render the page, white space where the hidden labels are located is shown.is it possible to remove the blank white space when labels have null values and are visually hidden?
i am using the multiview control inside a page and i am trying to find a control using the javascript function document.getElementById. My Problem is that the function returns null cause it cannot find the control. When i open the code of the page from the browser the active view is not rendered so I think thats the reason why I am getting a null value from the function.
On the HTML code is rendered only the first view or the view that is activated on page load.
Is there any way to find a control inside the view using javascript? or I am doing something wrong?
using vb.net/asp.net 2005 I have a multiview with views inside and I want to show the first view (view0) on pageLoad but dont know how to do this. also how do I change the view when the user clicks a button?
I have a MultiView control with 3 View controls inside it.
View1 contains a GridView control with 2 DataKeyNames assigned.
View2 contains a FormView and a DetailsView control.
View3 contains several DetailsView controls.
When a row is selected in the Gridview I'd like to update View2 to show data relating to the selected row DataKeyName 1 and View3 to show data relating to the selected row DataKeyNames 1 and 2.
I have previously tried configuring the SQLDataSource to use a WHERE clause setting the Source Control to the GridView object but I couldn't get it to work. There was nowhere to state which DataKeyName to use as the parameter.
I have three views inside a Multiview How to activate one by one view means I Just want to change the Active View Index of the Multiview using javascript in ClientSide How can i do this?
Another niggling issule. I am trying to remove all the databound items from my listview but it doesn't work. I am trying to remove the items as i have used the delete command button (alongside with the updateand edit)
I need a way to change the ActiveViewIndex of a multiview control based on some query results. Right now I test to see if I have rows returned from my linq query. If so, set a certain view active. If no rows are returned, I would like to set a different view active. I would like to do this on Page_Load if possible.
Right now I get the fatal "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error on page load with it bombing at line 12. My count is given a value at runtime so that is not the issue. Can anybody tell me why this is and how to get around it. Code is attached.
I also tried this both the pre render and Page_Init event but both yielded the same behavior with the Object reference not set to an instance of an object error. I can do this just fine in an onclick event for a button, but now I need a way to run a test and set the default view when the page loads. Seecode below
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { eCrystalPSGDBDataContext psgDB = new eCrystalPSGDBDataContext(); int count = (from st in psgDB.studyTbls where st.patientid_i == Convert.ToInt32(Request.QueryString["PatientId"]) && st.studystatusid_i == 1 select st).Count();if (count == 0)else if (count == 0) { StudyInfoMultiView.ActiveViewIndex = 1; } else { StudyInfoMultiView.ActiveViewIndex = 2; } }
I've been at this same question in different forms now for a while (see e.g. Entity Framework and MVC 3: The relationship could not be changed because one or more of the foreign-key properties is non-nullable. ), and it's still bugging me, so I thought I'd put it a little more generically:
You have an entity object (using Entity Framework), say User. The User has some simple properties such as FirstName, LastName, etc. But it also has some object property lists, take the proverbial example Emails, to make this simple. Email is often designed as a list of objects so that you can add to that object properties like Address and Type (Home, Work, etc). I'm using this as an example to keep it generic, but it could be anything, the point is, you want the user to be able to add an arbitrary number of these items. You should also be able to delete items (old address, or whatever).
Now, in a normal web page you would expect to be able to add these items in the same View. But MVC as it seems designed only makes it easy to do this if you call up an entirely new View just to add the address. (In the template for an Index View you get the "Create New" link e.g.).
I've come across a couple of examples that do something close to what I mean here:
[URL]
and
[URL]
The problem is, although the sample projects on these sites work fine, with mock model objects, and simply lists (not an object with a child list), it's a different thing if you actually want to do something with the posted information - in my case save to database through the Entity Framework model. To adapt these cases to that, all of a sudden I'm in a maze of intricate and definitely not DRY code... Juggling objects with AutoMapper and whatnot, and the Entity Framework won't let you save and so on (see above link if you're interested in the details).
What I want to get at is, is it really possible that this is such an uncommon thing to want to do? Update a child collection in the same View as the parent object (such as the email addresses in this case)? It seems to me it can't be uncommon at all, and there must be a standard way of handling this sort of scenario, and I'm just missing it (and no one here so far has been able to point me to a straighforward solution, perhaps because I made it too abstract with my own application examples).
I have a multi view which contains a view which contains a panel. the name of this panel is "Panel1"I have the following code and my HTML does not display in the rendered page. Any idea why this isn't working, i must be doing something wrong? sw = simple html statement, any would produce same result.
After searching on internet I found following website and implemented the code of website. Everything is working fine but when I click Tab2 picture or Tab3 picture or then Tab1 picture, the picture did not get refreshed or visible.
I just wanted to know if the multiview control keeps state when changing views. I would like to use it for a profile page to store different parts of a users profile and a save button outside the multiview control to save all or part of the data at any time. Is this possible to if so can I have a example please.
i'm writing a stored proc and if a field i return is longer then 200 characters, i want to truncate, find the last space, remove any characters after that space, then add some full stopseg:
INSERT INTO @rec(articleid, abstract) SELECT a.id, CASE
Actualy i need something like, lets say my main pg has got 3 tabs(Tab1,Tab2,Tab3)..when i click on Tab1,i will have to show Below 4 tabs names Tab1A,Tab1B,Tab1C and Tab1D,similarly Tab2,have to show below 2 Tabs....how to achive this gimme some sample code to do this using Multiview / or any other soluton.
I have a login control usin the standard .NET login control in an ascx file. I would like to have have the control have different views available after they user logs in so that the login boxes go away and now a message saying "welcome XXXX" and then when log out have it show an image. So in all i was looking at 3 views to happen and I wanted to use a Multiview control cause I am familiar with it.In the design view it looks perfect it shows up like I want but when I go to call it in the codebehind it says it doesn't exist in the context.Should I be referencing it some how or use a different view control?
Here is the code in the ASPX file:
[Code]....
Here is the code in the codehind that isn't seeing the Multiview control but the designer sees it fine:
