I've a table where one person teaches multiple classes. It looks like this.

Here Sam teaches Class 12 - English & Economics, Class 10 - Maths & English, Class 8 - History
I want to display the result like this -
Id Name Class Subject
---------------------------------------------------------------
2 Sam 12 English, Economics
2 Sam 10 Maths, English
2 Sam 8 History

Im having a go at doing a report for my asp.net application. I have 2 tables, one which lists a loan we have given to a customer, and another table which lists repayments against the loans.
I want to display each loan and how much is outstanding against it. My problem is that each loan is repeated in the table for each repayment against it. So when i try to sum up the loans awarded to a customer, if they only have one loan and have made 3 repayments against it, it sums up the amount awarded against each record.
eg, if i award a customer a loan of £200, and they make 3 repayments of £50, 3 records appear in the table. The amount awarded is repeated against each repayment, and when i total a customers loan amounts, it totals 3 x £200.
I have put the details into the grouping row, where it is grouped by loan_id, displaying the toal of repayments instead of each repayment. This stops it repeating in the table, but when i total the amount awarded field it still calculates 3 x £200.
I tried calculating the total on the report item after grouping but you cannot calculate on a report item.
Is there a way to stop the table from repeating the amount awarded against each repayment? Or even a way in the SQL statement of the dataset to make it display a total of repayments rather than each repayment. Cant see how to calculate a total repaid as i would need to pass a Loan_id in as a parameter.

i need to concatenate the gridview rows to a single string if the gridview count is more than 100 then i need to perform the concatenation as 100 comma seperated and the next has to be carried over to the next string say if the count of gridview is 1000 then i need to concatenate the string as string1= 1to 100(Ex: a,b,c....) then string2=101-200 string3= 201-300... and so on. in case if i had to use String builder for this.. tel me how to proceed with this.

I would like to use ASP.net, C# and SQL to display a list of games with radio buttons like below (the x is the radio). One team can be selected for each game.
game 1: x team 4 x team 2
game 2: x team 6 x team 1
game 3: x team 5 x team 3
The game list is stored in a table in an SQL database. So far, I can pull all teams into one big RadioButtonList. I cannot figure out how to create multiple RadioButtonList controls from this single table of games. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished - or reference to an example / tutorial that accomplishes something like this?

I am trying to populate the values of multiple rows in single row in gridview using c sharp in rowdatabound section of code behind page like:

a 3
a 4
I have changed this to

4
Now I want to achieve this?

What wrong with the code below?

I have a question which is insert multiple rows in a single insert? Is that possible?
For example:

I can easily create a search that will allow a user to input a single word (or a portion of a single word) into a text box that will search a database column.
But what I want is for the user to be able to type two or three words into the textbox and produce results where just one of the words have to match the contents of the columns cell.
I don't need to be able to do a multi column or table search, and I'm using C# and MS Access.
I imagine this question would have been asked more than a couple of times - but I can't find a decent answer.

I have table a and would like update table a whose values from table b, but not update all rows at table a. Only update record ID in table a match record ID in tableC.
Here is my query

from TableA a, TableB b
where a.name = b.name
and a.ID = b.ID
and a.ID in ( select ID from TableC)
I only have 12 a.ID match TableC, but above query update whole TableA.
How to only update 12 record at TableA from TableB?

I'm trying to figure out how to update multiple rows in my Directory table, when a user changes their Street Number or Street Name in their profile. They can add multiple users to a directory and each user they add to the directory has this primary users UserId in it. So if the primary user changes their address, I want it to update the address for all the users they listed in the directory as well. I'm adding this to the On_Click in the Code Behind, so when they click to update their profile, it fires this function as well. This code may be way off, but here's what I have right now:

I have a <asp:DetailsView> based on a table that has a details table, like so:
DB1 --> TABLE1 --> Customers: ID, name, street, mail
DB1 --> TABLE2 --> SitesToCustomers: CustomerID, SiteID
Problem One: I need my details view to show / edit both values from customer table and SitesToCustomers table, How do i do that?
Problem two: The site name (oppesed to its code that is saved at SitesToCustomers) is found on another DataBase in this table:
DB2 --> TABLE1 --> Sites: ID, SiteName
How can make the data source show site names according to their id's from SitesToCustomers table?
