I've an application that has paramters in page
page.aspx?UserID=...
and in my page I've Request.QueryString...
is it possible to encrypt the page paramters for don't allow users to change the values?
I have two examples to show you what I want to achieve here. But to point what's different about my question, Is that I'm having a parametrized URLs and I want to implement URL rewriting to my application. But I don't want to convert the parameter in the URL to be placed between slashes..."page.aspx?number=one" to "pages/one/" << NOT!
First example:
http://localhost:1820/Pages/Default.aspx?page=2&start=5
To
http://localhost:1820/Pages/page2
Second example:
http://localhost:1820/Items/Details.aspx?item=3
To
http://localhost:1820/Items/ItemName
But I'll still need all the parameters in the original URLs
Will someone point me to a tutorial on how to hide and denied access to certain pages based on what roles the user is in?

View 4 RepliesI am trying to hide the content of the folders on my website. I can redirect the anonymous user to the login page, when he try to access to prohibit individual pages, but when the user is regiestered in the website, he can see the folders' content. For example:
he types in the address www.mydomain.coma/account/ and he can see all the pages there: shoping.aspx, shoping.aspx.cs,
I need to authenticate users based on three parameters such as username, password and officename instead of just username and password. User name is unique only across the single office and not across the application.
Can I achieve this using Membership class and if yes do I need to write any custom code for that?

i am creating a grid page for a first time.
I looked on some tuitorials also but i still have few confusions.
I have a few parameters on page A. After the selection of those parameters, i should pass to the new page which should have a list of fleet items. There will be few columns and at the right most, i want a tickbox whether to select that item or not.
As a default, i want each checkbox be checked but if user wants to uncheck it, they should be able to do it.
I have one master page that is used to gather information from a user. It contains asp.net labels and textboxes within a table. For example, the master page contains fields for Name , Phone, Address, etc.
There are content pages that are created to add to the information that needs to be gathered. For example, the content page, Loan Application, could ask for Loan Amount, LTV, etc.
In addition to this, certain content page forms do not need to show a particular master page field. For example, the content page may not need to ask for Phone.
The table rows are stored as public properties in the master page so I can hide them in the content page code behind.

The functionality works perfect, but I don't like how the space is reserved on the page. You can tell that a row was removed. I've tried style="border-collapse:collapse" on both the <table> and <tr> elements. I've also tried to set the row height as a public property and alter that.
I'm building an ASP.Net project that will require the dynamic creation and printing of images. I've been asked to "hide" the header information (which is contained in a master page) when the page is printed. Is this some sort of a property that can be changed when the screen is printing?
The print event is actually running on the client side:

I'm wondering what would be the best solution for hidding a folder like for example "AdminFolder", and also .aspx pages inside this folder.
I have several pages inside "AdminFolder" which I (as "Administrator" :) ) plan to use for some background work on daily basis! I have the default.aspx page that I'm using javascript (in page_load) to open a new window (main.aspx) without toolbars/menus. This is the window I wan't up the remainder of the time. Is there a way to close the default.aspx page after opening the new window?

I used this code in the master page. So I need to hide the 'loading' and 'modal' in a particular content page. I am able to hide the loading div, but not getting idea for hiding 'modal'.

Im working on custom security for the pages and on this page / gridview i need to be able to display the field based on permissions.
can edit a record, but not delete and so on.. So would i need to convert them into template fields? or can i manage that as its configured now?
And this would be a all or nothing.. so if you dont have permissions, the commandfield is not shown for ANY records in the gridiview. I have had in the past where certain links would be available for certain records and so on.. but not this time..
Is there a way to transparently pass URL parameters through web pages? I mean situation that when using redirects, already added parameters will be passed to new page without direct action of programmer.
For example:
we entering page myPage1.aspx?param1=test performing Response.Redirect(myPage2.aspx)here I would like the parameter to be concatenated to URL and in result: page is redirected to myPage2.aspx?param1=test
Solution should be aware of that user can open more than one application instance that share one session (authentication). For example in one browser is opened myPage.aspx?param1=test and in 2nd browser is opened mypage.aspx?param1=test2.
We have already a few redirects (Response.Redirect) in the application so the perfect solution should not require to change existing code.

What I need is to provide a search page where the user can set parameters and see a list of data(depending on parameters. It should be using QueryString to be able to get to a specific setup with the URL. I supose that I could set the "<form method=get.." this would generate a QueryString on submit but Im not sure that this would work in the current setup? Maby I have to place the seartch stuf in a partialView?

When I want to get the output values its okay but I also want returning a table as a result data.But Datareader has no rows.is it possible if I want a returning query result and multiple output values togather ?I wrote a test above.I can get output values as sqlparameters. But Datareader attached to a Gridview is empty.can you detect whats wrong here and it doesnt return a query result.So stored procedure is not standart or ı am doing something wrong.this doesnt raise any exception.but not returning any data.

I am working on ASP.NET application where I am reusing a user control. The user control contains a checkbox and bunch of other controls. I want to display all the controls inside the user control on all the pages but on one single page I want to hide the checkbox. I was thinking that I can use the databind methods and see if I am on the "pagex" then hide the checkbox.
