Security :: Show Logout Message On Login Page?
Nov 9, 2010
When user logout, we redirect him to the login page. I show a message "You have successfully logged out." on login page using query string. But when user refresh the login page the message still appears. How can I make sure during subsequent refresh, the login page should not show logout message. Here is the code:
login.aspx
[Code]....
logout link executes the following statement:
[Code]....

At work, I'm currently doing an ASP.NET project, where I have to connect an MS Access file to ASP.NET.
This has been done successfully. Next, I had to create a login page, this has been succeeded as well.
Now I have make sure everyone sees unique queries from the database. Example: There are 12 queries in the database; one person has to see another query than the other person can see. But there are some products, which everyone has to see as well.
How do I do that without creating server errours (I get them a lot with one little change).

I installed my asp.net application on server (Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition, SP2)
I already set:
1. In ASP.NET Configuration Setting: I set Authentication to None.
2. Check Enable anonymmous access.
3. Uncheck Integrated Windows Authentication.
But the brower always show Authentication Required Dialog.
If I ignore this.
It show this error:
Access is denied.
Description:
An error occurred while accessing the resources required to serve this request. The server may not be configured for access to the requested URL.
Error message 401.2.: Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration. I receive this error when running the application. It is the LogOutPageUrl from the login/logout control. I have substituted several different destination pages, which all work in any other part of the application. However still get this error? what may be causing this, or why none of the other pages I have used will work either? Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

i currently develop an asp.net mvc 2 web app using asp.net membership and role management for authenticating and authorizing my users. I get complaints though that when adding a role to some user, he is not able to see new role assigned functionality, unless he re-enters (logout and login again) the application.

In logout link's click event i have written Session.Abandon() that will destroy the Session state.I am also handling Session_End event that is fired afterward (written in Global.asax). But one more thing i want is that after Session ends, login page should be redirected (opened).
For that i wrote:
[Code]....
This is working fine on the surface, but after applying debugging i saw that there were unexpected number of calls to Session_Start and Session_End events for two times, then login page was opened.
Why Session_Start and Session_End was called two times ? If i left this process as it is working then may i get some serious error in future ?

I have a login status object on each page for logging out. Clicking on this object will logout the user and navigate to the login page. I would like to set it up when a page is loaded, if certain conditions are met the user will be automatically logged of and redirected to the login page. If I could just somehow have the program click on that object, that would do the job.
