VS 2010 - Prompt User Before Navigating Away From A Page And Perhaps Stay On Page
May 15, 2012
I need to check information the user has entered on a page against what I have in my database to see if he is entering duplicate data. It is up to him if he wants to proceed or not. I just need to alert him.
I am developing a simple email portal as my college assignment and I refer gmail for various features. Now when we sign into a gmail account and then if we hit the back button of the browser we somehow still remain on the inbox page.In my case after login if I press back button I comeback to the login page.
I have a couple of pages with standard asp.net validation controls such as RequiredFieldValidator etc inside my RadAjaxPanel. As soon as I navigate to another tab in my RadTabStrip the page seems to force validation errors and pretty much "locks" the page even though non of the fields was selected to enter data.Only once all the required fields was entered the page seems to release the "lock" and only then am I able to navigate to another tab / page without even submitting the page.
what might be causing the "lock" and forced validation errors on the page?
In the web.config i am using as below. When the Login credentials are correct it should take to Products.aspx.Even when the credentials are correct this is displaying Login.aspx. Checked "Integrated Windows Authentication". Using IIS 5.1.
I am new to ASP.NET. I have encountered a problem in navigating the database records that is displayed in the web form , the Next and Previous buttons. I have 4 imageboxes and 2 textboxes under each image box for displaying database records.
I am currently using an Access database with a table "Images" and there are 4 columns in it. "ImageID", "ImageDescription","ImageofPicture","Description".
i want to redirect from one web page to another web page in same server with some query string values, but i don't want to change my URL string and i don't want to display any query string parameters in URL.
I am using a gridview as a dropdown extender for a textbox which works nice. I want to select a row in the gridview and fill in some textboxes with data from that row. I know how to do the Attributes.Add for cells in the RowDatabound event. But I have always passed the cell data to another page as parameters. How can I stay on the same page and fill in the textboxes?
I have view.aspx page that when I open page and don't do any thing in this page i.e for 10 minutes when I come back to this page after 10 minutes and click on hyperlink or button below error happen. Why this error happen?
I have an asp.net page "demo.aspx", that has a normal link called "Demo Link" which uses jQuery Thick box. The page that is wrapped inside the Thickbox is "target.aspx", that has a button "Demo Button" and a label.
If I click on the Demo Link, it show the "target.aspx" wrapped inside the Thickbox nicely. However, If I click on the "Demo Button", Thickbox is disappeared, "target.aspx" is not wrapped in Thickbox anymore, it is displayed like a normal asp.net page.
Here's the mark-up code of demo.aspx:
<a href="target.aspx?height=600&width=800" class="thickbox" title="">Testing Thickbox with Post-back</a>
Here's the code-behind of target.aspx:
Protected Sub btnDemo_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles btnDemo.Click lblDemo.Text = "Hello World!" End Sub
How do I keep target.aspx in the Thickbox after the post-back of itself?
I'm designing a web page that allows a user to enter previous employer information. I'll need the ability to add multiple user input sections to capture information for each previous employer. Is there a user input control I should use to do this? Is it possible to add additional controls or user input sections when a user clicks on a button?
I have this code , to redirect user when an error is detect on a page, and to notify the admin
vb Code: Protected Sub Page_Error(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Error REPORT IF ERROR DETECTED Dim a As New errorhandler a.reporterror(Page.Title.ToString & " " & Request.Url.Host.ToString, Server.GetLastError.ToString) End Sub
then under another button I have this try and catch , i wud like to show the user there is an error on the date input format.
We have an IIS/ASP web page from a vendor that we have just dropped onto a webserver within our company. The ASP pages do not come with any sort of authentication built in, so I am trying to configure the site to prompt for credentials before being accessible. I would like the site to prompt for the credentials in all cases (ie. I don't want Internet Explorer to pass through the credentials of the logged in user). I want authorization to this site to be allowed only to members of a certain security group with Active Directory.
Is there a way to do this? I'm not really an IIS guy, nor an ASP developer, so I'm kind of feeling my way through the dark here.
Based on some searching, I have tried adding the following to the web.config file:
I have also installed the IIS URL authorization role service, and have tried playing around with the authentication settings within IIS, to no avail.
From Flex we call a Upload.aspx page which is configured for anonymous authentication. Most of the time, it works like a charm, but once in a while, the browser does prompt a enter credentials popup...The whole site is configured for Windows Authentication, but some pages and folders are set to use anonymous authentication. This is done using the location tag in web.config.What could be the reason for this?
scrptMan is the name of the scriptManager on the page that I declare on the contentPage. Very strange this is only happening when I access this site outside of the Dev environment. Has anyone seen this before?
I am writing a web application which consists of a master page (header / menus) which does not change and content pages. When I do something like click on a button it causes a post back which is correct but this redraws the whole screen and becomes annoying because every post back and the whole screen flickers.
Ok, so I'm adding linkbuttons to a page dynamically on page_load.I had it to where the link buttons were redirecting to a page with a query string attached. I was attempting to use the AjaxToolKit's AjaxFileUploader and ran into issues with existing query strings.
So what I'm trying to do now is handle the click event of the linkbutton server side, set 2 session variables and then redirect the page to the same page, but with out appending a querystring so the ajaxfileuploader will work correctly. Here is my linkbutton code:
vb Code: Dim Lin As New LinkButton Lin.Text = dr("DeptDesc").ToString Lin.CssClass = "deptlink" Lin.ToolTip = CDate(dr("MeetingDate").ToString).ToFileTime.ToString 'Lin.OnClientClick
I know I have Lin.PostBackURL and Lin.setAttribute(...). It didn't work with just setAttribute and I saw a post online about someone setting the PostBackURL and it working...
