Visual Studio :: How To Ive Create An SSIS Package On Vs2005, So Vb.net
Mar 18, 2010
Ive created an SSIS package (vs2005, so vb.net only) One of the tasks has to unzip a zip file. To do this ive used java.util.zip library and written some code to unzip the file. Ive just been asked if its possible to use something other than a java library as our network engineers dont want to put the this on our server. Is there anything similar to java.util.zip that I can use in a vs2005 package ?
I got VS2010 and SQL Server 2008 R2 64bit installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2, I need to execute a SSIS package from ASP.NET. From the research most people uses DTS, but it seems DTS does not support for 64bit, does anyone have a way make it working without using DTS?
I'm looking for any and all information on how to execute an SSIS package from my asp.net web site. I have written the call and when I run the application from (Localhost) it works, but when I run it from the server it does not.
Here is my code to call and execute the package:
Again this works from my local machine running from localhost, but not from our live server. I have turned on impersination to see if that worked and still getting the same result. The file is written successfully to the server without issue, but I'm just lost.

I'm having an irritating issue with Visual Studio's Go to Definition command in VS2005. I am developing web sites using vb in VS2005. My issue is that when I right-click on the name of a sub or function and then click on "Go to Definition" to see the actual source code of the Sub of Function, half of the time it takes me to the Sub/Function source code which is what I want it to do, and the other half of the time it takes me to the object browser instead which doesn't help me much.
It seems to work the way I want it to if the Sub/Function definition is in one of the App_Code modules. It seems to go to the Object Browser when the Sub/Function definition is in the *.aspx.vb pages MasterPage.Master.vb file. How can I change this so that it always goes directly to the Sub/Function source code? If I can't get this to work o.k., is there a way to see the source code from the Object Browser?
I have a vs2005 web application project,I upgraded my machine from xp to Windows 7, the web application project not working in vs2005 anymore, does anybody know why windows 7 not support web application project for vs2005? if i upgrade vs2005 web application project to vs2008, will that work in windows 7? and after upgrade, will the original web application project still a web application project or it upgrade to website project?
I need to load and execute SSIS or DTS packages ASYNCHRONOUSLY from ASP.NET C# page on click of a button and report the success or failure at the end of the execution and if it fails the details of the exception should be shown to the user. it needs to be asynchronous because job could take a long time to finish. user should also be able to cancel the execution of the package while it is running if he wishes to do so. there is also requirement to execute multiple packages in parallel and track the progress for each of them. is this possible to achieve OR too complicated to do it from ASP.NET?
s it possible to execute a SSIS package in C# Code ? We can process cube using the namespace "Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient". What will be namespace/method to be used for executing a package/task, if possible? This considers Script Task too, in SSIS.
After following the instructions in Scott Guthrie's blog for converting a web site to a web application project, I am getting many, many errors. Most are either 'Name <control> is not declared.' or 'Type <type> is not defined.' And most, but not all of these errors are in the same .vb page.
downloaded a project from a site, the project was built by vs2005.I only have web developer express 2008, when I load the project,it converted the project and opened it but there is nothing in the project. the project is a MVC project, all folders/files are not in the converted project.can I open the project (built by vs2005) using exppress 2008 for MVC? if yes, how?
I have got a SSIS Package running every 2 hours. It collects data from different DBs and updates the DB of my ASP.Net Application. Everything goes smooth, but the asp.net application is still using the old data, it has the data somehow cached. If I just open save the web.config, it empties the cache and uses the updated new data. How can I make sure, that the app empties the cache after SSIS Package finished successfully?
I'm trying to run my SSIS packages as a step inside a sql agent job. This runs normally when the package uses the SAME database as used to create my job.The problem occurs if I create a job to run the package and this package must execute queries in another database. Probably authentication problem. So how to authenticate my package and the job runs normally ?
