Now I want my users to be able to view thoose images only if they are logged in (different users, different images). All images have a name that correspond to the users id. My idea is to stream thoose images into the asp:Image control, is that possible? How do I do that? Other (better) solutions?

Access to the path 'C:inetpubvhostsebas.co.inhttpdocsuploadsfile.exe' is denied.
i think this probably has something to do with the access permission for the folder...So could you tell me what are the permissions required to be set for this job to be done on server.
I want to upload files in my Asp.net application on server but I have to grant it R/W access so that I or anyone can upload files in it. Is there any way that I write some code or configuration lines in Web.config which solve this permission problem?
I am creating a website using ASP.NET (C#) using FTP problem: I have assigned a folder with a storage space let say 1GB to a user now what i want is to keep track of the storage space ulitilized by the user. for eg if a user saves/deletes a file in his folder, how to know that user has saved/deleted something to/from his folder.
I am working with Microsoft web developer 2008 Express (asp.net) and coding in VB.
I have coded a routine that creates a series of excel files in a folder called "SaveExcelFiles". This routine works fine. What I now want to do is to create a routine that will let my user download (copy) the entire folder to his PC. I do not want to have the user have to download each excel file separately if this can be avoided. Also I would like to have a routine that deletes all of the excel files in the folder.
i use to upload a photo to a server this piece of code:
But the Path can't be relative (like ~\Photos\image.jpg) .
I was thinking of getting the location of the .aspx file from where i upload the image and attach \Photos\image.jpg to it, but i don't know how to get the address (location ) of my .aspx page on the server .
I couldn't upload anythink to a server using FileUpload control (access denied exception). I changed permissions for required folder and gave aspnet user full access. It did not work (I got access denied exception). Than I changed permissions again and gave full access to all users on the machine - now upload works. As far as I understand, it makes my site vulnerable and I should give full access to only one user. Could anyone tell me which user IIS 7.5 uses?
I've been tasked with creating a page where the user can do the following in this order:
1. browse to and select a jpg image 2. preview the image that the user just selected 3. if the user is happy with the preview then click the GO button to load the image to the Image folder.Does anyone have any good examples or sample code of how to do this?
i made a file uploader to folder named (Books) and i saved the name and the bath of the uploaded file to my DataBase but when i wanna download the uploaded file from the server ? how i make it ? by hyperlink ?
I am working on some project where I am needed to allow users to upload files, but only in pdf and .doc format. Now I know how to let users upload files, but I do not know how to check whether an uploading files is pdf and .doc or not. How could I know that? And how could I know the size of each file, for the file should be no greater than 3 MB?
Also, I have alloted a separate folder for the files that are uploaded by users. I have one page that displays the links to download the files in that folder. I needed to know how could I keep the track of the folder, for the files get uploaded every time? Or in other words, how could my 'downloads page' know about the files in that folder and create links for each file in that folder for the download? Also, if I create a link of a file for downloading purposes, will the file be downloaded when one clicks the link?
I have some code that allows users to upload file attachments into a varbinary(max) column in SQL Server from their web browser. It has been working perfectly fine for almost two years, but all of a sudden it stopped working. And it stopped working on only the production database server -- it still works fine on the development server.
I can only conclude that the code is fine and there is something up with the instance of SQL Server itself. But I have no idea how to isolate the problem.
I insert a record into the ATTACHMENT table, only inserting non-binary data like the title and the content type, and then chunk-upload the uploaded file using the following code:
I have a directory folder with PDF images files: 1234567.pd, 7654321.pdf, 3212345.pdf, 9876321.pdf. Now, see my code below (everything in the code is working good), except that I am trying to search for the image file number doesn’t exist in that directory.
For example If the image file pdf number: 4455668.pdf doesn’t exist in that folder it will redirect or display error.I am getting an error that says: AspPDF. NET 18.104.22.16816 has generated error #110: [ Could not find a part of the path 'C:XXXX-Image4455668.pdf', which means the image file number doesn’t exist in the path directory. Yes, the error is correct, there is not image file number I type.
