I have the following list of fonts:I have no issues with using them vianew Font("XXXX Sans", 21, System.Drawing.FontStyle.Bold, System.Drawing.GraphicsUnit.Pixel)However, what do i do when i need to use a non-standard font style like light? All that is provided is an enumeration and that is not suitable.
Just upgraded from SSRS 2005 to 2008 (on a test server). I have a report with a list and in this list are about a dozen fields in textboxes whose fonts are all set to Verdana 8pt. When I run the report from the Report Manager, one of the 12 fields is displaying in a serif font (like Times New Roman) at around 12pt. When I preview the report in Visual Studio every field looks fine and when I run the same report in SSRS 2005 every field looks fine. Has to be a SSRS 2008 bug!
I am an experienced .NET developer with approximately 5 years of experience. Unfortunately, I have worked primarily on the back-end and as an desktop/smartclient developer. I have worked as a consultant for a total of 1 1/2 years on web development using both the MVP pattern and some Silverlight. I am wanting to develop a personal site, (My wife is due with our first in 7 months!) and figured while I was at it I would target particular technologies that I want to learn. Being that my current employer uses Monorail with NVolocity and is plannning a migration to ASP.NET MVC with (most-likely) NVelocity, I figured that would be a good tech stack to use. In addition, I would like to add JQuery to the set-up.
I have done several ASP.NET MVC tutorials. Including one on this site (Great job!). However, adding NVelocity and JQuery to the mix muddies the water a bit for me.
So, my question is, does anybody have advice of where to start? Do you know of any good books, online tutorials, etc.? Do you think this is a good stack to use? Better view engine?
I am looking for any source code for my website to include a genealogy. I am not having time to build it up from the scratch. If any one can provide me the libraries or any partial code, so I could use it
I am new here so I will try and give you as much detail as I can:
(C# + SQL)
I am developing a web site that has holiday prices which are taken from a different database and loaded into two SQL databases.I have two girdviews to display each of the prices data. What my issues is that I need to load an SqlDataSource on database 1,when 'Family' is selected from a dropdown list and run an SqlDataSource on database 2 when 'Themed' is selected and then run both when 'Don't Mind' is selected.
I get an error when trying to compile this simple website:
The error message is:
x is not a member of ASP.default3_aspx
The meaning of the error message is clear to me, and adding Me..Button1.Attributes.Add("onclick", "x.doMethod();") in codebehind works, but as you can imagine, that is not really what I want. How can I achieve my initial goal?
I have been asked to build an ASP.Net website that has a custom search, when the page is loaded it displays a gridview with a list of data, then when a button is pressed it takes the value from the text box and runs a stored procedure using the value, the gridview then databinds successfully displaying the new data. But the select button does not take the rows data it takes the data from the row corresponding to the data when the page is loaded, not from the search button.
I have a problem, its completely i dont why this happening.say i have site its workign most of places.but when i'm check some place its going to custom error pagei'm using url rewriting handler, is it may be?
I have a problem in my mind which is how to add custom JQuery in to our asp.net web site. As an example if I want to add editable diary in to my web site how do i used already build jQuery plugins to my site.
We have a company product (asp.net website) that gets compiled and distributed to our clients. I need to figure out a way to allow us to add in an ad hoc aspx webpage into the website (so it recognizes the master page, the forms authentication, assemblies, etc) without having to provide them with an un-compiled version of the website product. Is this possible. Is there a better method than having a special compiled version of the website on their server.
I am trying to make an asp.net website using Visual web dev and C# that accesses data in an SQL database. For my site, I need to be able to save and access additional user properties such as age and gender. I have been playing around with the built in .NET Login tools but I don't understand how to keep track of the additional properties (age, gender...) I could store all the users information in my own database but how do I correlate the users data in my DB to the usernames in the member database that is automatically created?
The problem is when i go to a URL that does not exist is still uses the 404 error page specified in IIS Manager.Question: How can I make it use the error.aspx page I have created? Why do the settings in IIS Manager override the web.config?
I have a label that I am adding dynamically and I would like it to be a custom Font (I know this font works in many browswers because its the default to our companies website).I want to change the font to "Palatino Linotype" but am unsure as to how this is possible. I thought it would be as simple as: Label1.Font = "Palatino Linotype"; however, this is not the case.
I have trie:
Font Palatino_Linotype = new Font("Palatino Linotype", 12); Label24.Font = Palatino_Linotype;
I get the error before compile:
Cannont implicitly convert type 'System.Drawing.Font' to 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.FontInfo'.

That's my CSS above. Unfortunately, the Menu text still shows the hyperlink-blue color instead of White. However, if I putForeColor="White", then it works. I'd rather not do that. I'd like to be able to set it with CSS. HTML below.
