I have a structure with 3 classes. I have a class A which is a base class, and then class B and C which are derived from A.
I am trying to store random types of B and C in the database using LINQ to SQL, in a column with the type VARCHAR(MAX).
I cannot use BINARY as the length is around 15.000.

So the error happends when the first Deserialize method is run, with the above error.
1)How to convert 64base string to binary in asp.net and store into sql server.
2)when i convert 64 base string into binary & try to store it into database then it has taken so much tiime to insert. The size of 64base string is 1.5MB. and when i converted to binary then the size is 11MB.so the best way to insert the binary data into sql server. The data type of column is varbinary(MAX).

Is it better to store images directly in a database or to just store the name of the file in the db and display that file? I would think that just storing the filename of the image would keep the db size low...

I can successfully display the data on my webpage, but the text field is not formatted very nicely. The output is all smashed together like one big paragraph. Ironically, when I also display the text as a tool tip it outputs as multiple paragraphs like it was entered. How can I format the output in the datalist to create a more readable text field? My datalist field is as follows:

I have an ASP.NET app that writes binary data to a SQL database. It worked fine using SQL Express, but does not ever write the data using SQL Server 2008 R2. SQL Profiler shows the binary data in the UPDATE query, but nothing happens... no errors, no data saved. Does anyone know what I'm missing? Other data types work fine.

I want to get clients images in web app(upload) and store them in DB (mysql) then send these images to windows app via web service (so i new web service, not web site). But i have 2 problems:
I have 2 ways to store images in mysql, first i should have BLOB field in DB -that it takes more space-, second i should save just name of each image in DB(so have image in one folder) -in this way i don't know how get image from clients and store them in that folder-. which one? Or what other? How (code) can i transfer image via web service(Byte[] or? ).
