What Email Service Provider Can Connect A .net Mail Client
Jan 25, 2011
Every month I have to email out links to demo music tracks that I make. I have like 30 labels and it takes me ages to write out an email to each one. I dont want to purchase my own domain name yet so is there a free email provider that I can sign up to that will allow me to use .net library to automatically send out messages?
I have a "Contact Us" page where in users will give in their email id and a query and on submitting the form, web admin would receive that email.
If I configure their email id to "from" MailAddress and send the mail, it will fail to do so if the ID is from popular mail domains like gmail or hotmail but would work with other unpopular or non existent domains like firstname.lastname@example.org without any credentials provided!
It worked with gmail after I configured SMTP and network credentials properly. The aim is to let the admin of my website who receives the email be able to hit the reply button in his mail client and see the "to" field populated with the "from" field filled in "contact us" page. Is there any proper way to do this or a tip or trick to accomplish it.
I am trying to configure SQL server 2008 Rerporting service. I click start > programs Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
When i get the prompt Connect to a report server Instance I can see my Server Name: Genesis The report server instance is Blank. I am also getting a message stating: Unable to connect to the Report Server WMI provider Details: Invalid namespace. The message appears when i click on find.
sending mail using asp.net to the aol domain? My users complain either they don't get the mail or they go to the spam box and it doesn't go to the user's mail quickly. Is there a trick to this for aol? It goes to yahoo or gmail really quick
I have many mails send, and keep on increasing all the times based on few actions in my site. So if I have several mails to send by only one email id it will take long time to send all of them and also that email id will have lot of load. So I want to distribute those mails to 5 diff ids so that load of one email id will be distribute
All this I want to do using web service, so that I can send mails asynchronously.
I'm using Facebook connect on my site. If a new user connects through FB i create an account for them and all is fine. What i would also like to do is check to see if they already have a registered account.
So if someone connects that has not logged in but has an account i would like to be able to locate the account in my application a link it. I hoping this could be done via the email address?
I'm looking for guidence on writing a custom password reset UI, but it must fit the Provider 'Pattern', or degrade silently to built-in defaults. E.g. my Reset Control must collect extra information, and perform differently to the standard Password Recovery Control. It must close as possible use the standard MembershipProvider interface for standard functions, and only use an extended interface for the non-standard stuff.I'd like some reading on issues such as, what must I ask the Membership Provider for, and what must I do myself. What must I tell the provider (service?) about what I do?
I inherited a project whereby a website is utilizing the Membership Provider to allow for new account signups. This site utilizes different domains which point to the same root. In code, different pages are displayed based on which domain was used to connect to the site.
The Membership Provider sends an email confirmation to the end user upon account signup, based on (I'm guessing) some hard coded config value for that contains the From email address. Is there anyway to conditionally specify this From email address at run time? Or is it only possible to use a hard coded config value for this email address?
I'm new to WCF web services never done anything with them before and I'm being asked to create a page to connect to a WCF web service I have no idea where to start and I've searched the internet with no success. Does anybody have an example of an asp.net page connecting to a WCF web service? I've set up the WCF web service on my server but do not have a clue on how to actually connect or query it to get my XML data back.
The WCF web service is set up as it's own URL and only has 2 files within the root one being the web.config. I somehow need to query this URL and get some XML data back from it.
