C# - How To Show Characters For Password Textbox Control After Assigning Its Text Property

I am assigning a value to .Text of a textbox retrieved from a database in Page_Load() but no characters are shown in the textbox after doing this. The value is indeed there when I try to read from it after the assignment. I would like to present some characters to the user even though they are the "dotted" password characters so they know a password has been entered here. Is it possible to do this?

I need to construct a regular expression for the password textbox which shouldn't accept special characters($,@,!,etc).Even whitespaces,tabs. I tried the below this accepts special characters.

The control can be of various type and I don't want to treat them differently: I'd like to set the Text property to a defined string. I am using Forms Authentication in a new ASP.NET 3.5 Application.I have created the Tables in my database and run the Web Site Administration Too.When I try to create a user I get a password error no matter what I throw at it and I am becoming sure of that this is a symptom of an a setup error and not a password problem.One of the things that I notice is that my aspnet_Applications is empty and I am not sure what is supposed to fill it.I have tried to delete all the aspnet tables and done the procedure again but with the same result.

I have build a composite control which renders a TextControl or a RADEditor control, dependable of a property a set. Both rendered controls have a Text-property. The problem is that when I change the Textvalue on my webpage (when it is running) it won't set the new Text-value but the old Textvalue instead.

I currently have a repeater control and inside the itemtemplate I have a usercontrol. This usercontrol renders correctly, but I am trying to assign a dataitem to a property in the repeater control.

RequestId is just an Int32. It just doesn't assign it.
I can put the eval outside of the usercontrol just in the itemtemplate and it correctly outputs the right id.
If I remove the whole eval and just type a number in then it works fine. I was using an EntityDataSource and this automatically binded to the repeater. It printed out all the information from the database on the screen without any codebehind. But when I put in the code behind Repeater1.DataBind(); it then started to work.
I don't know why, but hey it's solved. It now successfully passes the value through. I imagine it has something to do with the page lifecycle.

I don't know if I've understanding MVC correctly if my question makes no sense, but I'm trying to understand the following: I have some code on a controller that returns JSON data. The JSON data is populated based on a choice from a dropdown box on an Asp.Net page. I thought (incorrectly) that Session variables would be shared between the Asp.Net project and the MVC Project. What I'd like to do therefore (if this is possible), is to call a Sub on the MVC that sets a variable before the JSON query is run. I have the following:
Sub SetCountryID(ByVal CountryID As Integer)
Me.pCountrySelectedID = CountryID
End Sub
Which I can call by the following: Response.Write([URL]) But this then results in a blank page - again obviouslly totally incorrect! Am I going about MVC the wrong way or do I still have a hell of a lot more learning to do?

I have a modalpopupextender with popupcontrolid set to a panel. I have a name textbox, label, submit button in the panel. When the submit button is clicked the name is validated using a function connecting to the DB. If It already exists the label should show "Already Exists". I have set the label text in the buttonclick event handler but the label is no set. The popup just closes. I want the label to be set and make the popup remain unclosed. How to achieve this functionality ?

I'm tyring to write a simple DetailsView only used for inserting new records that will pre-fill a textbox with a query string value. Here's the DetailsView:

All I want to do is set VenueID_FK.Text to = the "VenueID" querry string. I also want the user to be able to see the VenueID number as they are filling out GridView1.
I know this is probably a simple thing, but I am very new to asp.net. I thought I could handle this in the page load event, but when I try something like this
TextBox VenueID_FK = (TextBox)DetailsView1.FindControl("VenueID_FK");
And then follow by setting the Text property programitically. I've accomplished something similar to this on a different page using a FormView, but only for ReadOnly mode and it was handled in the databound event on that page.
I get the error "The name 'DetailsView1' doesn't exist in the current context." when trying to do the above mentioned. When trying the same line in the databound event here, I get the same error.

i have some textboxes in my parent page and a search button. when the search button is clicked, my modalpopup pops up. after chosing (clicking on the select button of the row) an entry from a gridview within my modalpopup (each row in the gridview has a buttonField), the rowCommand_Event fires... within this event i try to set the .Text property of some textboxes within the page containing my modalpopupExtender... i get no exceptions, but the textboxes are not set...
