If i've the button outside an update panel (basically i'm using RadAjaxPanel by Telerik) it is working fine. But when the button is inside an ajax panel, even if i click OK for deleting the records the server side code is not called.
I have a control on a page. In the control's pre-render event I'm executing some code that's taking about a minute to execute. This means the whole page is unresponsive until the control's pre-render event is finished executing.I tried putting the control inside an update panel, but it doesn't matter the rest of the page still won't render until the pre-render event of the control is finished executing. I've attached a very simple example of my code (The event that's slowing up the control's pre-render event is not Thread.Sleep(1000):
I have created an android app, that registering to google c2dm service. And It's getting a registration_id token from c2dm services successfully. I already signed Android Cloud to Device Messaging form and I received confirmation email from c2dm service.Everything seems ok in client side, it's getting registration_id in simulator environment. So, it's ok. But, On server side, It's authenticating google service, it's receiving Auth code then it's invoking to c2dm send url with below code.
public void SendMessage(string registrationId, string data) { ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback += delegate(
I'm new to custom server controls and I'm hoping to use them to build various 'modules' for different sites I build to cut down on duplicate code.I'm familiar with custom user controls in which I can create an .ascx & .ascx.vb file which can then be imported into an .aspx page and used freely.However, with custom server controls I cannot find a way of using markup/html code. Is this possible at all or must all code be created programmatically?
I know that I can receive an javascript object from the server via ASP.NET AJAX using Json. But I am not sure how can I send an javascript object from my client-side javascript to my server-side code. And if I can, how can I extract this object in my server-side code and access its members?
I have a set of custom ASP.NET server controls, most of which derive from CompositeControl. I want to implement a uniform look for "required" fields across all control types by wrapping each control in a specific piece of HTML/CSS markup. For example:
<div class="requiredInputContainer"> ...custom control markup... </div>
I'd love to abstract this behavior in such a way as to avoid having to do something ugly like this in every custom control, present and future:
public class MyServerControl : TextBox, IRequirableField { public IRequirableField.IsRequired {get;set;} protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer){ RequiredFieldHelper.RenderBeginTag(this, writer) //render custom control markup RequiredFieldHelper.RenderEndTag(this, writer).....
If I was deriving all of my custom controls from the same base class, I could conceivably use Template Method to enforce the before/after behavior;but I have several base classes and I'd rather not end up with really a convoluted class hierarchy anyway.
It feels like I should be able to design something more elegant (i.e. adheres to DRY and OCP) by leveraging the functional aspects of C#, but I'm drawing a blank.
If I have a standard HTML textbox: I can retrieve the value using Request.Form. But how do I go about populating this textbox from the server-side? I tried Request.Form["txtTest"] = "blah"; but got a readonly error.
in a form i have a buttoin, when click both OnclientClick and postback should happen. on clicking the "Email" button a client side "mailto" tag should do the work and pull a new message window on the client's machine.
whereas, the email addresses should be invoked by the post back. so , when clicking the button the server side post should happen and on return the client side script should be invokded with the values read during post back, and populate all the email addresses.
i need know how to first do a server hit take the values and then execute the client script with those values without using AJAX
I got XYZ page which got few divs inside of himin 1 of the divs there in an updatepaneland in another there are buttons which being inserted into the page using javascriptWhat I want to do is once a button is clicked, it would invoke a method using javascript in the server which would update the updatepanel
I am using following server side code to save the data from ASP.NET Control toolkit Editor to the database It follows with the HTML Code The problem is that, data is saved successfully. But it is saved twice. Main problem is this server side event is fired twice. How can i prevent it from firing twice?
Server side code Imports System.Data.SqlClient Partial Class Administrator_Calendar Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Protected Sub BtnAdd_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BtnAdd.Click Try Dim dbobj As New db Dim i As Integer = 0 Dim rdr As SqlDataReader = dbobj.selectQuery("select max(srno) from calendar") If rdr.HasRows = True Then rdr.Read() i = rdr.Item(0) End If rdr.Close() dbobj.insertQuery("insert into calendar values (" & i + 1 & " , '" & Me.Txt_dt.Text & "' , '" & Me.Editor1.Content & "')") dbobj = Nothing Catch ex As Exception End Try End Sub End Class HTML CODE <%@ Page Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPages/Admin_AftrLogin.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="Calendar.aspx.vb" Inherits="Administrator_Calendar" Title="Excel Crop Care Ltd. / Administration Section / Manage Calendar..." %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor" TagPrefix="cc2" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="head" runat="Server"> </asp:Content> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="ContentPlaceHolder2" runat="Server"> <div> <cc1:TabContainer ID="TabContainer1" runat="server" ActiveTabIndex="0"> <cc1:TabPanel runat="server" HeaderText="Selected Dates" ID="TabPanel1"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="Gridview1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="srno" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1"> <Columns> <asp:CommandField ShowDeleteButton="True" ShowEditButton="True" ShowInsertButton="True"> <ItemStyle Width="20%" /> </asp:CommandField> <asp:BoundField DataField="srno" HeaderText="No." ReadOnly="True" SortExpression="srno"> <ItemStyle Width="10%" /> </asp:BoundField> <asp:BoundField DataField="date" HeaderText="Date" SortExpression="date"> <ItemStyle Width="30%" /> </asp:BoundField> <asp:BoundField DataField="description" HeaderText="Description" SortExpression="description" /> </Columns> </asp:GridView> <asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:DataConnectionString %>" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [calendar]" UpdateCommand="Update calendar set date=@date,description=@description where srno=@srno" DeleteCommand="Delete from calendar where srno=@srno"></asp:SqlDataSource> </ContentTemplate> </cc1:TabPanel> <cc1:TabPanel ID="TabPanel2" runat="server" HeaderText="Add New"> <ContentTemplate> <table> <tr> <td width="30%"> Date : </td> <td> <asp:TextBox ID="Txt_dt" runat="server" Height="16px" Width="170px" CausesValidation="True" Font-Names="Verdana" ForeColor="#666666"></asp:TextBox> <asp:ImageButton runat="Server" ID="Image1" ImageUrl="../Images/Calendar_scheduleHS.png" AlternateText="Click to show calendar" /><br /> <cc1:CalendarExtender ID="Txt_dt_CalendarExtender" runat="server" DaysModeTitleFormat="dd/MM/yy" Enabled="True" Format="dd/MM/yy" TargetControlID="Txt_dt" PopupButtonID="Image1"> </cc1:CalendarExtender> <cc1:TextBoxWatermarkExtender ID="Txt_dt_TextBoxWatermarkExtender" runat="server" Enabled="True" TargetControlID="Txt_dt" WatermarkText="DD/MM/YY"> </cc1:TextBoxWatermarkExtender> <cc1:MaskedEditExtender ID="Txt_dt_MaskedEditExtender" runat="server" MaskType="Date" CultureDateFormat="dd/MM/yy" Enabled="True" TargetControlID="Txt_dt" Century="2000" UserDateFormat="DayMonthYear" Mask="99/99/99"> </cc1:MaskedEditExtender> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"> <asp:Label ID="Lbl_msg" runat="server" Text="Enter description in the editor below :"></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"> <cc2:Editor ID="Editor1" runat="server" Height="350px" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <asp:Button ID="BtnAdd" runat="server" Text="Add" OnClick="BtnAdd_Click" Width="75px" CssClass="btn" /> <asp:Button ID="Btn_Rem" runat="server" Text="Remove" OnClick="BtnAdd_Click" Width="75px" CssClass="btn" /> </td> </tr> </table> </ContentTemplate> </cc1:TabPanel> </cc1:TabContainer> </div> </asp:Content>
I have a web app that needs to do two things at the same time. After a user clicks a button on the site, a javascript function needs to execute and while thats working I need the server side code for the button click to execute without waiting on the client side to finish.
To be more specific, the client side function takes about 23 seconds to complete, and while that is running the server side code promts the user for printing a document. So I need the javascript to run "in the background".
This code works fine if i use this inside ssercontrol > panel and i have a checkboxes in table when no checkbox is checked its works fine .... but if i disabled and checked any of the textbox then this doesn't work .... in usercontrol why ? i didnt understand ..
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function checkboxChecked(){ var allInputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input"); for(var i=0; i<allInputs.length; i++) { var chk = allInputs[i]; if(chk.type == "checkbox" && !chk.disabled && chk.checked) {
return true; } } alert("OOps! You haven't selected all available checkboxes"); return false; } </script>
I put a panel control on my web form, but i'ts not showing up in the code behind when I do a me.Panel. It was for a while but I was trying to do something like me.panel.visible and it kept telling me when I ran the app that panel was not part of my form.
I am trying to use an update panel to run some server sided code. everything works fine with this:
asp Code: <script runat="server">Â Â Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Label1.Text = "Refreshed at " & _Â DateTime.Now.ToString()Â
[Code] ....
The problem is this: when the page first loads, i have a text box that i add a string to. if its a normal string, its fine. but, if its an XML string, the update panel will stop working (no errors, it just wont refresh the panel when the button is pushed). i'v tried narrowing the cause down and found it does not like "<" character.
I tried using this: Server.HtmlEncode to encode the xml but there must be other characters in the string it does not like (the XML is a response from the Linkedin API) .
how i can remedie this? even if the Server.HtmlEncode worked, its not the ideal solution, as i want to display the XML not the decoded string.
I am doing a countdown with a timer that runs every second. I have a scriptmanager, but how do I make it update behind the scenes so the user does not see it? I thought I could use an update panel, but I can't get it to work right.
I am trying to do a simple thing using asp.net. I wanna show a modal popup panel from a server procedure with vb.net.
The error is: The popup don´t show when I click cmdTest Button.
OBS: I used cmdTest just to call the procedure. In my project, one button call a procedure that will or not call other procedure that will or not show the panel.
I want to run code at the server(sql update) on a client button click, but i dont want a postback (more specifically, page flicker or loss of scrolling position).
i am not sure if my design have flaw but would like to know what others have to say, i am in a situation where i am trying to acheive two things in one click.
using : asp.net web form
i have a web form with few textbox and a gridview control and a button.
if i click on the button i am executing two things
1) asynchronously get data from server to client (working great) and able to display the data in the textboxes.
2) same click i want to bind the gridview.
[Code]....
recap:
1) jquery script execute asynchronously to get data from server to client and display in the textboxes 2) server side code to bind the gridview.
PROBLEM:
if i have onClientClick="return LoadDataById(); then it executes ONLY ajax code and does not execute server side but if have onClientClick="LoadDataById(); then it executes client and server but textbox value wipeout. (the textbox value popuplate through ajax)
I am using an AJAX extender on a panel that lets me expand and collapse a panel when I click a button. Does anyone know how to collapse a panel by code without doing a postback? I looked at the properties and methods on the ajax toolkit page and either it is not possible or I am missing it. Actually there is a postback on what I am doing - I forgot. But the page comes back with it open still.
