I simply am trying to add a color to the select item background within the select elm after a user makes a selection from the select elm. The result right now is that in firefox, the colors will change, but only during selection ... after the selection has been made the background for the individual selection is still white.
This code works fine in IE but so far my efforts have been thuarted in FireFox.
Referring to a C#, .net, System.Web.UI.WebControls.Lisbox which has a multiple select option true and needs to do a postback every time selected index changes.
Problem is, the [SelectedIndex / SelectedItem / SelectedValue] is always on the value of the 1st selected item. Clicking on the second item, third item, does not change the SelectedIndex, causing the listbox to reload and scroll to the highest selected item position.
I have a asp:listbox with 5 items in it. By default the list box is disabled. (i.e it only shows the items in it but user cant do anything with these items.) I have to make the color of these items in the list box to red but when the listbox is disabled the items are defaulted to the gray color. Any idea how I can change the color of the items in the disabled list box ?
I have a project that queries a set of times from a database and uses these entries to populate a dropdownlist. Once the page is loaded, the user can select one of the items in the DropDownList. When the "Save" button is clicked, the Selected item value is returned to the [HttpPost] version of the controller action. This item is then stored into session. If the system returns to the page containing the dropdown, I want the saved Value to be selected in the DropDownList. What actually happens is that the DropDownList is always set to be the first item in the list.

how to change the background color of a selected menu item? The background color changes on the word of the dropdown menu but not the entire row section of the menu item. Each menu item has a different word length but I want the background color length to be consistent throughout the dropdown dynamic menu. I also what to change the background parent when a menu item is selected.
URL...I mean when page is loading it show default Item in DDL in red color and show other Item in black color but when I selected another Item from DDL it changed all Items color to red.I want when I changed DDL's Item like before it show selected Item in red color and other items in black color.
I have following datalist ,to display employee id, name, email ..... datalist have column with link button text " Get Details" and fontcolor "black" , onmouseover of the particular row i want change the color of linkbutton or the image of linkbutton ..
I have a dropdownlist, and a Gridview where one of the columns is a dropdownlist. both dropdown lists use the same data source. When a value is selected in the dropdownlist (outside the gridview) I want to chaneg the selectedValue and selectText of every dropdownlist in my gridview. This is what I have tried:
When I click I get an error. It says object expected. However I know those objects exsist!
On the server I handle the list item's link button click event.
When this occurs I want to apply a CSS class to the selected item on the client-side to show that it is the selected item.
Since ListItem does not support any sort of CSS properties directly, but does support Selected, I assume the best way to do this would be to get the selected item from control on the page load and apply the styling then.
The ListBox is in the EditItemTemplate of a FormView inside of an UpdatePanel. jQuery is possible but it would be great if there would be an asp.net serverside(or Ajax) way to achieve this because i don't want to use more client scripts than really needed(and this is only a nice to have).
// Select item in first DropDownList myCascadingDropDown_1.SelectedValue = itemValue_1+":::"+itemText_1; // Select item in second DropDownList myCascadingDropDown_2.SelectedValue = itemValue_2+":::"+itemText_2;
I can select my desired item in the first dropdownlist. The problem is however, that new values based on that selected item (it is a CascadingDropDown, remember?) don't show in the second dropdown so I can't select anything there. I would need to somehow invoke the update method of the second dropdown manually.
